I assume Minibags is not black or mixed race. If she were, it is unlikely you would have found DB's actions to be so harmless or characterised people's reactions as being over the top and hysterical.

Perhaps you just enjoy being a contrarian but there are certainly some posts on here - and on the other thread about the new baby - that I would describe as racist. I include in that white people who try to present themselves as "victims" of the "political correctness gone mad brigade" because they see this person's action as acceptable and excusable.

lemongrove I think you will find that there are many posters on here of differing political leanings who have objected very strongly to DB's behaviour. To say that "left wing people" don't care if the royals or wealthy people are victimised is untrue and insulting. I am left wing and a Republican, as are several people on this thread who have expressed disgust at DB's actions. You say you are a Republican too so I wonder how you enjoy being characterised as someone who thinks racism is justifiable if it is directed at the royal family and wealthy people (as EllanVennin described Republicans)?

DB is apparently a left wing Labour activist - that doesn't mean all Labour activists are racists - just that this one is, in the same way that some right wing Conservative activists are racist.

breeze he has never tweeted that photo before for any royal birth. It is a lie put on Twitter by his racist supporters - don’t lower yourself by repeating those lies. The BBC have used the words about poor judgement rather than calling it racist for legal reasons I’m sure. But the tweet was racist and he has refused to acknowledge that which is further evidence of his lack of judgement. I would go further and say that by refusing to acknowledge that the photo was racist he is sailing perilously close to being a racist

Contrary to what has been written here, I’ve met Danny Baker several times and he is actually a really nice man and was very happy to autograph several of his wonderful books for me and my son and granddaughter!

Danny Baker has lost his job, that can only be a good thing but no doubt he'll get employment from some other agency who are quietly and insidiously racist.

Exactly Crystaltipps my first taste of racism was in 1964 when I was asked by my landlady if my young man could meet me at the end of the street and not come to the door as the neighbours wouldn’t like it I handed my notice to leave the next day and for a year I was turned away from everywhere we tried to rent I ended up sleeping on a friends floor until we went after a flat and were accepted, the owner and his partner were gay (it was still against the law then) and he understood all about prejudice

A pity that posters don’t read posts properly......I have never said that all left wing people, either on GN or in RL have no sympathy for either the wealthy or the Royal Family but it seemed to me that DB was probably left wing and posters defending him were too.Whether you like it or not, some left wing people think ( and act) in this way.
