I wondered how long it would be - this BBC employed racist has tweeted a photo( which I won’t post) likening Archie to a chimpanzee. He’s now deleted it and issued a totally inadequate apology ( not that there could be an adequate one). What an absolute shit - I really think he should be sacked immediately

Tbh I didn't dress my children dactyl how their father was dressed Ab. (Although I do think they look very sweet).

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:16:57

I'm not scraping any barrel. And it's not about anything football related. It's about what he was sacked for.

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:18:19

If you can't look at both arguments, his and yours, IMO you are not fit to judge him. Or anyone.

Sparklefizz Fri 10-May-19 12:18:42

I am off to lunch. I am not wasting hours on this like I did yesterday to respond to people who wear blinkers. I've made my feelings clear .... I am anti-racist, and anti discrimination in general.

I believe you should treat others as you wish to be treated.

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:19:54

Ab I mostly wear trousers with a shirt and a woolly pully. Dresses when it's very hot only. Never wear suits.

SirChenjin Fri 10-May-19 12:21:24

No, you'll need to explain more Gone. Hanging jury on a thread about racism is funny because...

Stan Collymore - oh well, that's settled it then hmm

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:21:55

I am most definitely anti racist. Hate racists. And narrow minded people.

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 12:22:30

Gonegirl I would be surprised if you dressed your little one’s in men’s suits.

What is the difference in the clothes Kate and William’s children wear to other children? Their daughter wears dresses and Jeans as did my children and grandchildren, the Sussex baby was swaddled in a shawl, were your new born babies not Swaddled?

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:23:02

No. I can't explain any further Sirwotsit. I'm not really sure it was meant to be funny. grin

SirChenjin Fri 10-May-19 12:24:13

Your posts would indicate otherwise Gone

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:24:24

Swaddled in a wincyette cot sheet tbh Ab.

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 12:25:23

Gonegirl so you never wore a suit ? You attended weddings in trousers, shirts and woolly pully? You choice

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:25:53

Only the hanging jury thing was a partial joke. Everything else I've said, I believe entirely.

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 12:28:18

And i have never seen the royals clutching the hands of a monkey

SirChenjin Fri 10-May-19 12:28:25

I'm sure you truly believe everything you've written Gone - I have no doubt about that.

Gonegirl Fri 10-May-19 12:29:59

That's a difficult one Ab. I know I wore a blouse and skirt with a jacket to DD1's very casual register office wedding. DD2 not tied the knot yet. (Will def get a dress for that!) DS unlikely to ever settle down. Can't remember apart from that. Long time ago.

Mrspn19479 Fri 10-May-19 12:34:34

He's a complete racist, we all agree, how he managed to hold down his job in public broadcasting is a mystery. I'm sure he will live to regret his stupid spiteful remarks, and I hope and pray that he never gets back to a position on media ever again.

trisher Fri 10-May-19 12:46:22

Sorry we don't all agree Mrspn19479. The post may have been racist and he should have thought about that but that doesn't make him racist.
He's been sacked/quit before by the way. He usually bounces back.

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 12:51:11

It was racist

breeze Fri 10-May-19 13:02:21

Agree trisher

Anniebach Fri 10-May-19 13:12:58

A photograph of A man and women each holding the hand of a monkey and leaving a hospital the day following the birth of child of a man and a woman of mixed race, may have been racist ?

Why a monkey?

Callistemon Fri 10-May-19 13:13:50

Danny Baker was possibly one of the last working class people employed by the Beeb.
how do you define working class and how do you know that the BBC has not employed other people whom you may perceive to be working class?

He Tweeted an image without thinking too much about what he was doing,
Does being working class make his behaviour somehow more acceptable?
Or are you saying that he is just unaware of the news, working in the media as he does?
Or perhaps just thick?

Callistemon Fri 10-May-19 13:14:15

sorry, that was addressed to trisher

JenniferEccles Fri 10-May-19 13:19:49

This topic was discussed on the Jeremy Vine programme earlier this morning , and the point was raised about what was DB's intention when he posted the picture.

They were discussing whether it was still racist if he had no intention of it being perceived as such. It seemed to be that his intention was the crucial point.

That surprised me as I thought incidences like this depended on whether someone, even just one person deemed any comment or internet post to be seen as racist.

It made interesting listening though, as various differing aspects of it were discussed, rather than just the usual 'it's disgusting - 'he's a vile racist' type of usual, predictable comments.

However, it was such a stupid thing to do, and I don't think he will be missed by many people following his sacking.

Callistemon Fri 10-May-19 13:20:54

If he went to Eton would any poster defend him? The answer is no.
Yes, good point lemongrove

The post may have been racist and he should have thought about that but that doesn't make him racist.
So he posts an offensive racist tweet about a newborn baby but that doesn't make him racist!

What more would he have to do to qualify him as racist then trisher?
