I thought that Prince William and the other contributers in tonight's interview about Mental Health was very good .

A prince being as open as he was is something of a British miracle. Whatever you think about the monarchy PW is a breath of fresh air.

Prince John was thought to have brain damage from severe epilepsy. No medication available then. My MIL and SM both made it clear that they didn’t want to see people with disabilities out and about. I was in my twenties then and totally shocked by their attitude. My SM’s own brother was institutionalised because of epilepsy. He was very intelligent but chose to stay where he was when given the opportunity to leave in the 60s. He helped look after other residents and didn’t want to live elsewhere.

Apologies! I think this is on the wrong thread but no idea how to sort it.

Having treatment with Aldara and feeling pretty yucky.

Iam when I said William can not speak openly , I did not mean I expected him to talk about his mothers mental illness in a discussion of mental health problems in men,

I meant he is doing much to shake off the stigma but if talking to women he cannot speak of the effects on families, he cannot say to a young person with an eating disorder, my mother suffered the same. We are free to do so, he will never be .

You may be right Anniebach and in fairness, I suspect both William and Harry would be sensible to avoid getting drawn into discussing the difficulties their mother experienced.

Very sensible Iam the media would be give it more coverage than Brexit

What you said Iam could apply to this thread too

Sorry maryeliza, not sure I follow? Been a long day an my head's ready to read a murder mystery where eventually, good will triumph over evil

Iam I meant about not getting drawn into discussing Diana again and the state of her mental health.

I watched the programme and was impressed with all the contributors - PW came over as thoughtful, empathetic and a thoroughly nice guy - Peter Crouch was touchingly honest and came over as so normal - I loved that his wife (the absolutely gorgeous Abby Clancy) phoned him ten minutes before a game to ask him (nonchalantly) what he was doing?? Clever girl - beauty and brains (it sometimes happens) do hope they stay together.
Someone will now come on here and say they are consciously uncoupling or similar I don't doubt! grin
