Well ?

GabriellaG54 Mon 27-May-19 01:11:03

You have to add ALL the other parties together in order to better the Brexit vote yet Brexit have done what they've done ALONE and in 6 weeks.
Beat that. grin

maryeliza54 Mon 27-May-19 01:14:52

Rubbish and they are not a new party but a reformulated UKIP with no members and only one policy

GabriellaG54 Mon 27-May-19 01:15:32

You remainers have to scrape the dregs from the floor. You can't even be decent enought to say that NF has done well.
No manners, just bitterness. Trying to say that 1+1+1+1+2=6, is nothing like throwing a straight 6.

GabriellaG54 Mon 27-May-19 01:18:45

All whinging saddos.
I'd have a modicum of respect if you played the English game which is to congratulate the winners but the words would choke you.
That shows that you can't play fair.

Evie64 Mon 27-May-19 01:21:09

Absolutely!

Evie64 Mon 27-May-19 01:35:03

Go Nigel! At last a Politician that talks to the people and understands how the majority (17.4 million in case you wondered) of the people in this country are feeling. Breath of fresh air in comparison to the rest of them who seem to only be interested in lining their own pockets. I am so cross that our area voted to leave but our MP thinks he knows better and votes to remain! How dare he!

maryeliza54 Mon 27-May-19 01:36:23

We are as split as ever as a country - had the BP got over 50% of the votes and if the turnout had been much more than 37% but as it is the main difference is BP MEPs rather than UKIP and LD/GP increase at expense of LP and CP.

maryeliza54 Mon 27-May-19 01:37:50

NF not interested in lining his own pockets - which planet are you on?

GabriellaG54 Mon 27-May-19 01:57:18

In any other arena, the winner gets congratulated by the ones who were placed or the team which lost, even by one goal, one throw of the dice, one point, a photograph, .05 of a second, yet no remainers have even croaked a begrudging 'He did well'.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 27-May-19 06:29:27

Winner

REMAIN 40% excluding any votes from either Labour or Tories.

LEAVE. 34%

Whitewavemark2 Mon 27-May-19 06:41:46

So now all the arguments that the leave campaign has put forward over the past 3 years will now pass to the remain campaign.

“We won, get over it”

Whitewavemark2 Mon 27-May-19 06:50:38

Of course the remain vote must be counted from REMAIN parties, but they are the grownups in the room and recognise that there are more issues at stake than just one.

But nevertheless they campaigned on a REMAIN ticket.

Brexit is really UKIP reborn so can hardly be argued to be a new party. It even has the same leader?. So I suspect it only actually added at a maximum 5% more to its vote and that is probably being generous.

Firecracker123 Mon 27-May-19 07:00:36

WOW ? ? ?

The Brexit Party 28 seats top position

Congratulations to Nigel Farage and all the new MEPs fantastic result for a new party over 5 weeks old.

MawBroonsback Mon 27-May-19 07:13:51

2014 elections - UKIP won 24 seats
2019 elections -Brexit win 28 seats.
So they have improved their number of seats by 4.
Fair do’s ?

2014 elections -Lib Dems won 1 seat
2019 elections- Lib Dems win 15 seats
Improving their result by 14 seats????

No ear buds Grandad1943? Get up to date. (Sun 26-May-19 23:58:28)

Perhaps vicious old women need to get up to date too. I have never found "earbuds" that can be used by dictation (voice recognition) software, to remove background noise, and I doubt Grandad has either.

I find it hard to believe you led the career you claim to have done while being so ... you, GabriellaG54.

(My software believes you are wrong, by the way, and that "earbuds" is all one word. I wouldn't pick anyone else up on this but you seem to believe in high-handed rudeness).

mcem Mon 27-May-19 07:54:50

Sir John Curtice sums it up as Leave 47% and Remain 53%.

lemongrove Mon 27-May-19 08:33:42

You have to laugh at the number crunching on here, the Brexit Party smashed it as predicted, after all.
Yes, you can count Greens and Lib Dems together as remain votes, but you can also add BP to Conservative and even Labour if you are so minded, since the main Parties are backing Brexit.
I understand the need for some to hope for a magical intervention to stop us leaving the EU, but there won’t be
One coming along now!

lemongrove Mon 27-May-19 08:36:40

A great result to show Parliament to get on with it.

lemongrove Mon 27-May-19 08:52:24

Who are you calling ‘vicious old women’ GGM3?
How about attacking the argument and not the person.....as used to be your mantra.

Eglantine21 Mon 27-May-19 08:55:35

I enter the political thread with trepidation, but can someone explain the 53% remain to me?

crystaltipps Mon 27-May-19 09:41:29

I would hardly say Farage “smashed it”, yes got the most seats but 70% did not vote for the odious little twat.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 27-May-19 09:45:49

eglatine I have a Rose by that name?

I didn’t see Curtis so can’t say, but it is easy to show that remainer parties attracted more votes than the BP that doesn’t include either the labour or Tory vote.

FarNorth Mon 27-May-19 10:05:29

if you played the English game
By all means do that - in England.

'the Scottish National party, boosted by an unambiguously pro-remain message from Nicola Sturgeon, secured a record three seats and its highest-ever European parliament vote at 38%.'

Mycatisahacker Mon 27-May-19 10:16:33

Wonder how long Corbyn will last now.

Waterloosunset Mon 27-May-19 10:18:03

Oh crystaltipps brilliant, just brilliant ?
