Here you are.

All Corbyn critics etc can now have a thread all to yourselves.

trisher Mon 03-Jun-19 10:38:34

What's wrong with that Annie I hope you aren't linking Zionism with all Jews? All Jews are not Zionists in fact many abhor it. (And no matter what he said he couldn't have fiddled the number of people attending a Labour rally)

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 10:39:09

the Leader of a party doesn’t matter ?

So 50000 have more say at a general election than 47 million voters

Why can’t the far left see a leader has to reach out across the country ?

trisher Mon 03-Jun-19 11:44:45

I think Annie we have all heard your opinion of the leader ad nauseam. It would be nice if just for change you could try discussing policies. But I won't hold my breath.
Here's a try though. Do you support the re-nationalisation of the railways?

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 12:25:00

trisher i will discuss policies if and when I choose , very wise not to hold your breath

Grany Mon 03-Jun-19 12:45:16

trisher I agree let's talk polices. Labour have loads of excellent polices in their manifesto for the many.

trisher Mon 03-Jun-19 12:51:17

I agree Grany and I think many others do. I think possibly nationalisation should go further. I think water and the railways are a great start but I think there is a case for providing all utilities through non-profit making organisations. It seems wrong to me that in a civilised country there are people making money from what should be the basics of life. Especially as it is the poorest who through metered accounts pay more for their fuel than the rest of us.

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 12:52:59

No views on Alastair being expelled from the Labour Party for voting for the Libs but no one else who has said they did the same not being expelled ?

Grany Mon 03-Jun-19 13:27:05

trisher yes Labour will renationalise railways and nationalise energy grid. Nationalise 10 water companies Renationalise Royal Mail.

And essential Renationalise the NHS and halt STP plans and 22billion worth of cuts.

Here are more Of Labour's polices

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 13:42:31

Betty Boothroyd still not been expelled, and seems Keir
Starmer and Tom Watson have been ignored , so Corbyn

The situation looks very grim for Labour, and JC in particular:

First there is the continued haemorrhaging of Labour’s voter base as we saw in last week’s European elections.

YouGov shows that fewer than half the people who voted Labour at the 2017 election now back the party. Instead, some 43 per cent of 2017 Labour voters are supporting pro “People’s Vote” parties (Lib Dems, Greens, Change UK, SNP, Plaid Cymru).

Second, even card-carrying Labour party members are looking elsewhere. Some 41 per cent joined Alastair Campbell last week and voted for other (mainly anti-Brexit) parties in the European elections.

Third, Mr Corbyn’s personal ratings are abysmal. Asked by YouGov who would make the best prime minister, 23 per cent of voters backed Theresa May, even though she had resigned as PM the previous Friday. But an even smaller number — just 15 per cent — backed Mr Corbyn. To put it bluntly: he cannot beat the Tory leader in an opinion poll, even when she is politically dead.

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 14:20:15

He sat too long on the fence, he has gone very quiet , perhaps on holiday again

Grany Mon 03-Jun-19 14:27:53

I wouldn't trust YouGov they are a Tory based outfit. The several other pollsters give Labour at least a 5 point lead.

The EU elections were mainly a protest vote for either leave or remain almost half and half.

There are thousands membership for the Labour Party. Lots of activists.

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 15:23:11

There are millions of voters

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Jun-19 15:24:50

If JC became PM and if he embarks on a nationalisation “project” I hope he is going to pay Market Price. Lots of pension funds invest in Utility Companies and those with occupational/private pensions could take a hit in their pockets.

LP need to realise that it’s not just the so called “posh rich Torres” who have investments.

trisher Mon 03-Jun-19 15:33:53

I notice Annie didn't answer my question about Zionism. Could it be that she really doesn't know the difference between anti-Zionism and anti-semitism or perhaps that she often tries to inflame and detract when she finds that there isn't really a valid argument against something?
Anniebach perhaps the others didn't go on TV and say that. But anyway I have already said AC should have realised (and may well have known) that if you kick people on the way up they may well kick you when you're on the way down.

Anniebach Mon 03-Jun-19 15:51:05

trisher you support revenge and lying about party rules ?

It’s quite simple , if it’s against party rules for a party member to vote for another party how come only one of many has been kicked out of the party?

If kicking is acceptable on the way down Corbyn will be badly bruised

Grany Thu 06-Jun-19 08:44:20

In Peterborough by elections only Labour will save our NHS

GrannyGravy13 Thu 06-Jun-19 09:29:20

Unfortunately the LP party has had a lot of coverage in several newspapers and social media over the last few days re their "progressive tax"

Taxing people on the size of their gardens, doing away with the single person rebate on council tax..........how many pensioners will that hit in their pockets????

If my memory serves me right I have seen this in Telegraph, Express, Mail all on line.

Labour MP Kate Hoey has announced that she is standing down at the next election. Aged 73, Hoey has been MP for Vauxhall in south London for 30 years.

Anniebach Mon 08-Jul-19 14:57:53

And two Male Labour MP’s.

Labour has made it easier for their MP’s to be de selected , no surprise there

POGS Mon 08-Jul-19 17:01:31

Politics is a funny old game.

Kate Hoey and Corbyn went through the same lobby for years to vote against most things EU related.

Only one of those MP's stuck to their guns, what is now widely called being a ' conviction politician'.

I think there will be quite a few MP's at the next election who will jump before being shoved. I am certainly not accusing Kate Hoey of this I am making a generalised comment. I think Kate Hoey has been a good Labour MP.

I do hope Ex Labour MP Frank Field sticks to his word and fights as an Independent candidate AND WINS.

Anniebach Mon 08-Jul-19 17:07:50

True POGS, Kate stuck to her guns and Corbyn stuck to his fence

Anniebach Mon 08-Jul-19 18:51:46

More standing down. Stephen Twigg is one, the celebrations
when he beat Portillo in 1997.

MaizieD Mon 08-Jul-19 19:00:10

If my memory serves me right I have seen this in Telegraph, Express, Mail all on line.

And if my memory serves me right, GG13, this is not Labour Party policy, it's a report that they have received and are considering. We had a whole thread about it.

I have seen this in Telegraph, Express, Mail all on line.

JC lovers to a man, of course! They never overexagerate or bend the truth of a story so as to give entirely the wrong impression to their readers... hmm They've got you up in arms about something that may never happen. Result!
