Which quotes POGS?
These:
Hang yourself you vile treacherous Zionist Tory filth. You are a cancer of humanity.”
“Ruth Smeeth is a Zionist—she has no shame—and trades on the murder of Jews by Hitler—whom the Zionists betrayed.”
“Ruth Smeeth must surely be travelling 1st class to Tel Aviv with all that slush. After all, she’s complicit in trying to bring Corbyn down.”
“First job for Jeremy Corbyn tomorrow—expel the Zionist BICOM smear hag bitch Ruth Smeeth from the Party.”
“This Ruth Smeeth bitch is Britainophobic, we need to cleanse our nation of these types.”
“#JC4PM Deselect Ruth Smeeth ASAP. Poke the pig—get all Zionist child killer scum out of Labour.”
“You are a spy! You are evil, satanic! Leave! #Labour #Corbyn.”
“Ruth you are a Zionist plant, I’m ashamed you are in Labour. Better suited to the murderous Knesset! #I Support Ken.”
“Your fellow traitor Tony Blair abolished hanging for treason. Your kind need to leave before we bring it back #Smeeth Is Filth.”
Where have you garnered all these from?
I know that you don't 'do' twitter but the use of the hashtag # indicates that at least some of them are tweets. This implies that you have copied the collection from somewhere. We would like to know your source.
We (I think I can speak for GGMK2 and trisher ) are not denying that they exist, we just don't think that they prove in any way that Labour is institutionally racist; unless, of course, you can prove that they are representative of the views of all members of the LP.
Which you haven't. You've just posted comments which are typical of the sick minds that can be found in any section of the population. As I pointed out earlier with my link to the DM comments on Meghan Markle.

Labour anti-semitism
(929 Posts)The equality and human rights commission have launched
an investigation
Maizie you will find them in Hansard, a speech by Ruth
Smeeth when anti semetism was being discussed in the house, POG. Didn’t garner them . You will find the whole speech earlier in this thread posted by POGS
Thank you for clarifying, Annie.
I wonder why POGS couldn't have said that herself.
No idea, POGS doesn’t post every day , and she had posted it earlier in the thread , the full speech
Maizied/Whitewave/trisher /GG. MK3
Is that what you were asking for all along.
Why didn't one of you ask the question relating to what post I had made and where the quotes came from with a sensible question telling me which quotes and what post had got you 4 so excersied in the first place. I am not a mind reader, although you 4 appear to be.
You played the man not the ball with your inquisition and made some pretty damn rude personal comments. All it took was for one of you to mention the time of the post you wanted an explanation for and had ANY of you been following the thread and not what just you 4 post then you might have remembered my previous post!
I think it is worth remembering the Parliamentary debate on antisemitism and what Labour MP Ruth Smeeth said so here it is again just incase you accuse me of not getting back to you AGAIN or ANSWERING YOU ALL.

A timely reminder of PART of what female Labour MP Ruth Smeeth said in Parliament during a debate on Anti-semitism :-
" Over the past two years, however, I have experienced something genuinely painful: attacks on my identity from within my own Labour family. I have been the target of a campaign of abuse, attempted bullying and intimidation from people who would dare to tell me that people like me have no place in the party of which I have been a member for over 20 years, and which I am proud to represent on these Benches. My mum was a senior trade union official; my grandad was a blacklisted steelworker who became a miner. I was born into our movement as surely as I was born into my faith. It is a movement that I have worked for, campaigned for and fought for during my entire adult life, so it was truly heart-breaking to find myself in Parliament Square just over three weeks ago, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish community against the poison of anti-Semitism that is engulfing parts of my own party and wider political discourse.
If the House will indulge me, I would like to read out a small sample of what I have received on social media, but before doing so, I have to thank the dedicated team at the CST who have protected me, shielded me from as much of this abuse as possible, and worked with the police on the occasions when abuse became threats. As others have said, they should not be necessary, but personally I would be lost without them. They have also worked their way through the thousands of pieces of anti-Semitic abuse I have received to provide the following greatest hits, although I must warn the House that my fan-base has shown scant regard for appropriate parliamentary language, so I apologise in advance:
“Hang yourself you vile treacherous Zionist Tory filth. You are a cancer of humanity.”

Yet still there is a denial and the conspiracy theorists abound.
If it is ALL a conspiracy to attack Labour and Corbyn and those who have surrounded him for years then half the Labour Party MP's are conspirators.
When Labour MP's, councillors, activists are thought of as liars, conspirators by their own then I don't see how the problem will be ever resolved. -----

Nobody said that you did, POGS. But you came back to the forum and played the innocent about which quotes we wanted to know the context for.
No rude personal comments. Apart, of course, for noting your dislike of putting things in context.
And I still don't see that the tweets quoted show in any way that the LP is institutionally racist. Many MPs (particularly female ones) receive appalling messages from strangely deranged people. Anna Soubry did; I read many of them. So does Diane Abbott. That does not make their party institutionally racist.
I repeat; I am getting a strong feeling of McCarthyism from this furore.
MaizieD
Playing the innocent my ass! You gave me no hint what was being asked of me!
You ALL jumped in from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning as though I was evading your questions, something I never do!
So yes I think ALL 4 of you were being TOTALLY of the frame of mind I should be at your beck and call or the rudeness starts.
As for :-
" And I still don't see that the tweets quoted show in any way that the LP is institutionally racist" and want g ' context'.
When a Labour MP says :-
" Over the past two years, however, I have experienced something genuinely painful: attacks on my identity from within my own Labour family."
What more context do you want, she is stating from within the Labour Party.
Lord knows we have have all seen some accusing not only Ruth Smeeth but ANY Labour MP/Councillor of being a conspirator against Corbyn because they speak out. That exacerbated when the debacle happened and neither Corbyn nor Shami Chakrobarti had the guts to do a thing from the stage they were shameful.
Ye gods just because some cannot believe, do not want to accept that antisemitism has been reported on a wide scale from those within the Labour Party they call it as you do
' McCarthyism'. Well if it is ' McCarthyism' the Labour Party are doing a damn good job of it because that is where the complaints, the reports are coming from, within Labour.

I hope everybody reads your link in response to Grany.
I am quite sure some most certainly will not POGS
Same with the wall mural, strong defence ‘ it is not anti semetic ‘, no mention when Corbyn finally admitted it was anti semetic.
Back in 2005, before Ruth Smeeth went into politics, she became the Director of Public Affairs and Campaigns at the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre (BICOM). BICOM is a (PRIVATELY FUNDED) UK-based organisation which acts to promote Israel and raise awareness of the Middle East. It publishes materials on a number of aspects of life in Israel and in the Middle East including on terrorism and UK-Israel relations and foreign policy.
BICOM has a pro-Israel advocacy arm called ‘We Believe in Israel’ who provide ‘learning materials’ for both the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the United Synagogue. The current Director for ‘We Believe in Israel’ is none other than Luke Akehurst. ‘We Believe in Israel’ are also a campaign group because, back in 2010, they petitioned the Co-op to reverse their decision to support BDS and boycott certain Israeli products. The Co-op continued to support BDS and, as a result, four US States (Arizona, New York, Florida and Illinois) decided to ban the Co-op. As far as I can tell, the Co-op still support BDS.
It’s worth noting that some of the material put out by ‘We believe in Israel’ is clearly pro-Zionist. In fact, they like to refer to Zionism as “the national liberation movement of the Jewish people” (see article linked below – ‘Zionism and the Foundation of the State of Israel’).
On 27th June 2016, disappointed with the EU referendum result, Smeeth resigned her post as Parliamentary Private Secretary in protest against Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership. The following day we had the PLP coup when 172 MPs, apparently equally disappointed with the referendum result, signed their names to a vote of no confidence in Jeremy Corbyn. Two days after that we had the incident at the press conference for the Chakrabarti report, where Smeeth stormed out after being accused of colluding with the right wing media by Labour Activist, Marc Wadworth. Ironically, just 5 months later, Smeeth declared that she would actually support the triggering article 50 anyway because close to 70% of her constituents in Stoke on Trent had actually voted to leave.
In the days and months following the incident at the press conference, Smeeth gave a number of interviews to the news media, including on the Victoria Derbyshire show and with London Evening Standard, in which she claimed that she had received thousands of antisemitic and homophobic death threats on Facebook and she alleged that this was all done in the name of Jeremy Corbyn. Jeremy has repeatedly said that he condemns all abuse and has called for a kinder, gentler politics. He’s also said that people who think its ok to be abusive are not genuine supporters of Jeremy’s. However, Smeeth insisted that there had been a marked increase in the number of Antisemitic attacks since Jeremy Corbyn took over as leader of the party and she demanded that he name and shame these online abusers.
In truth, apart from Ruth Smeeth and perhaps a handful of other anti-Corbyn MP’s, who appear to have been targeted, we don’t really know how many other Jewish Labour members have actually complained about being personally attacked. You have to wonder, are ordinary members complaining or is it just the anti-Corbyn members of the PLP? Also, when Ruth complains that she’s had thousands of threats, we don’t know if that’s thousands of people threatening her or just a handful of idiots who are repeatedly attacking her. One assumes though that, as the police have been called in to provide protection that the threats are severe enough to warrant further investigation, so we should to be able to get to the bottom of who might be behind these threats before long?
On another point, bearing in mind the fact that Ruth is referring to threats on social media, there’s unlikely to be any proof that these people are genuine Corbyn supporters either or, indeed, that they are even members of the Labour Party. In fact, there’s nothing to say that these people aren’t Tory supporters, or other interested parties, trying to add fuel to the theory that there has been a rise in Antisemitism within the Labour party. Surely, we should be demanding a full investigation into who these abusers are and, not being funny, we also need to know more about the people who are actually making the complaints of Antisemitism, in case they also might have an agenda or axe to grind?
One final point – does anyone have any actual stats to support the claim that there has been a ‘rise’ in antisemitism in the Labour party since Corbyn became leader, or is this just a convenient theory? I’ve tried looking for some stats but I haven’t found any yet?

Grany I hope you don't mind but I know some people don't like clicking through and may not read this. The highlighting is mine.
Jeremy has called for a kinder , gentler politics ?
Seems his devotees disagree
What has this to do with Corbyn directly Annie? Did he say these things. Where is your proof anyone in the Labour Party did? Why do you only attack one person? What about what is actually going on with your new friends, the Tory Party, nothing to say on actual crimes it seems. People do this sort of thing when they are obsessive stalkers; it seems very unhealthy to me. Who are these "devotees? You make up do many weird things but we never get any closer to names or proof do we.
Please could anyone explain to me how Ruth Smeeth knew that the messages she received were from members of the Labour Party? As far as I know it isn't necessary to say which (if any) political party you belong to when you send messages to someone. But Im no expert so maybe someone can explain.
trisher as you vehemently defended the wall mural and said it was not anti semetic, who is speaking the truth, you or Corbyn , ? you said no, he said yes
That's the bit I highlighted Trisher. Of course these people need dealing with under the law so why aren't the police involved? They have far more resources and can, if anyone can, get access to who these people are. I can't see how the LP can. There are sick people making the comments we read about but it seems to me a similar sort of sick obsession drives those attacking a party for something it appears even the police have no handle on.
GracesGran as you claim my new friends are the Tory party I can claim your posts are so Momentum ,
Why does it matter Annie? It is only you who are obsessed by the man. The rest of us are happy for individuals to have their own opinions. You are beginning(?) to tread well outside the boundaries of reasonableness in attacking Gnetters in order to attack one man.
We seem to have gone off topic here. It's all very well discussing Ruth Smeeth, but the subject should be the Labour leadership aka Jeremy Corbyn. He is the leader and the tone/direction of the Labour Party is his responsibility.
I see the trope is that Ruth Smeeth was funded by 'The Israel Lobby', so that explains your obsession with a Jewish MP
electronicintifada.net/blogs/asa-winstanley/uk-labour-mp-ruth-smeeth-was-funded-israel-lobby
Can I please ask why Jeremy took £20,000 from Press TV, which is proscribed in the UK, which is backed by Iran & calls for the destruction of Israel? www.timesofisrael.com/irate-corbyn-refuses-to-say-if-he-regrets-working-for-irans-press-tv/
He defends himself by saying he talks to his 'friends' Hamas & Hezbollah because he wants to help and encourage peace talks between Israel & the Palestinians. So why won't Mr Corbyn have anything to do with Israel & Trump (the USA) who would need to also be a party to peace talks?
He's happy to meet terrorists/freedom fighters, who call Israel Nazis, yet won't eat with Trump at the State banquet.
I don't think I know anyone who is in Momentum Annie although I suppose they may not have mentioned it, whereas you constantly join with every declared Tory on here.
I have told you before, I am not a member of any party or group. I am not defending any person or party, just trying to keep the conversation balanced. I am totally against any form of racism or attack on a person or people because of their religion. You don't make your posts for those reasons but just because of your obsession with Cornyn. If you want to start a petition asking the police to look into the anti-Semitic comments that people have used then I will back you. If all you are trying to do is to fulfil your obsession I will disagree with you where you are wrong.
trueblue22 It's simple -a state banquet is an honour bestowed usually on a US president when he/she has served at least one term (only 3 have had one). Corbyn believes (as many of us do) that Trump neither merritted or earned this honour. It is therefore perfectly reasonable to refuse to attend the State banquet. He did on the other hand offer to meet and talk with Trump, which was refused. And as far as the Israel/ Hammas situation goes that fits with what Trump has done so far which is to fail to accept or provide any support whatsoever for Palestine.
Grany I hope you don't mind but I know some people don't like clicking through and may not read this. The highlighting is mine
