Bloody Trump, sticking his nose in!

The arrogance of the man angry

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 14:04:58

Me! Me! I supported you too Phoenix!

maddyone Tue 04-Jun-19 14:10:08

I already read both Chaucer and Shakespeare for my English A level many years ago. I also read Shakespeare when I was training to teach, English was my main subject.

Phoenix, I have read many of your posts and noted that you are normally polite. I did find the one under discussion to be unacceptably coarse.

Gonegirl Tue 04-Jun-19 14:12:41

Flip me! It wasn't that bad maddyone (wot phoenix said)

hmm

maddyone Tue 04-Jun-19 14:18:14

Gonegirl grin

phoenix Tue 04-Jun-19 14:39:43

Alexa thank you as well, and anyone else! grin

annodomini Tue 04-Jun-19 14:46:01

I couldn't find any particularly coarse post from Phoenix when I read through this thread. Kind of depends which Chaucer and Shakespeare you read, Maddy.

The elderly Queen has quality. Donald Trump has charisma how else could he have become the president?

Could be Alexa that more people voted for him than the equally odious Clinton because they preferred his message?

It's called populism. Populism

Of course the left have now made the term a dirty word. Have you noticed?

A politician who appeals to people for whatever reason, if he is not left-wing-and-anything-goes-we-break-the-establishment-liberal, he immediately becomes a 'bad man'.

Oh and then the cries by the equally as intolerant and bigoted left go up of 'fascism'.

Please note the way that narrative is being adopted by left wing media sources as well.

Soon, if the hard left continues to dominate media coverage all those nasty and thick leave voters (sigh)will be goose-stepping fascists and hard right 'deplorables'

Left wing Hilary Clinton famously called Trump's voters deplorables, didn't she? Just as our own nasty left wing Emily Thornberry sneered at white van man because he flew the England flag.

Watch it happen. Watch how the left wing, liberal media and those who use it, try to impose their world view and leftist agenda on the rest of us.

To disagree marks you (according to life in their bubble) fascist, don'tcha know.

I am not alone in noticing this surreptitious trend. See how often 'populism' is derided (by left wing commentators) online and on TV.

It's worrying.

Look out for it.

I think I can clear things up ..

He or she offered descriptive comments regarding the presidents appearance and then another suggested that he or she might not be grand in appearance either at which point he or she indicated that his or her looks had nothing to do with it- Which is of course true because ones ugliness couldn't possibly come through digital typography ..

Which is incredibly similar to after the president's offering up shreds of ugliness and the princess offering her response to it was told she was nasty for doing so because of course he was free to speak in any manner he pleases ..

If the looks of the baby balloon reflect similarity, then so be it ..

maddyone Tue 04-Jun-19 17:39:40

It is indeed worrying Day6. I have noticed myself how right wing has become synonymous with fascism. I have noticed certain right wing people being compared to Hitler. I have noticed people say ‘ I hate .......Farage, Trump, Johnson, or whoever.’
Hate is a very strong word.

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 17:58:58

"unacceptably coarse."

I love Maddyone's expressions!

Ginny42 Tue 04-Jun-19 17:59:16

Day6
Trump got fewer votes than Hilary Clinton, who received almost 2.9 million more votes than Trump with 65,844,954 (48.2%) to his 62,979,879 (46.1%)

Trump won through the US system of the Electoral College.

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 18:02:47

"It's called populism. Populism"

The Left have drawn attention to the word and the object of the word. Populism is a manky strategy. That expression is a little coarse perhaps I mean populism is a cynical strategy.

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 18:05:25

"Hate is a very strong word."

My mother's very words to me when she was still trying to
make me into a lady

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 18:22:17

"I think I can clear things up .."

Rosecarmel, your lovely nom de plume!

Mr Trump has a very expensive tailor so he could hardly look other than shapely in suits.
When at home he will not be eating good old traditional American Chlorinated Chicken . I'd bet £100 Trump's chicken dinners are organic free range.

Urmstongran Tue 04-Jun-19 18:30:54

Apparently someone popped one of the baby blimp Trumps (I didn’t know there was more than one). Punctured it with a sharp implement.

rosecarmel Tue 04-Jun-19 18:30:57

Omg!! I'm completed freaked out! I was eating chicken and reading this thread when you wrote that chicken post!

Talk about range! I HATE this stupid Amazon tablet!!! People can watch me with it!!

The sky is falling!!! No privacy!!! Not even when shoving me own species down me chlorinated gullet!

What a world ... What a world ..

rosecarmel Tue 04-Jun-19 18:31:57

smile

rosecarmel Tue 04-Jun-19 18:33:48

Hey, when the balloon popped did it let out a foul odor? Or did the people nearby speak like chipmonks? smile

MawBroonsback Tue 04-Jun-19 18:35:12

ChipmOnks? gringrin

phoenix Tue 04-Jun-19 18:38:09

I wonder if it is possible to be acceptably coarse? And if so, what is the line that one would have to cross before becoming unacceptably coarse?

I suppose that like beauty, it is all in the eye (or mind) of the beholder (or reader)

The post that maddyone found so offensive contained the word "buttocks". Perfectly acceptable and correct word, I would have thought. (Although perhaps the archaic "nates" might have been preferred?)

However I might have said "bum" or even (steel yourselves ladies) "arse".

As for "fart", yes, I suppose I could have been more genteel and said something like "flatuent emissions" or " botty burps" or indeed the phrase Mr P uses in relation to the cats, "windy pops". confused

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 18:38:54

Don't worry pretty Rosecarmel it's not here yet. Maybe there will be a big uptake of people keeping hens as pets. Oh wait, no

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 18:40:29

Phoenix, it's a funny thing about the old Anglo Saxon that it's both posher and ruder.

rosecarmel Tue 04-Jun-19 18:51:32

Chip off the old monk? smile

Alexa Tue 04-Jun-19 19:07:02

Friers

rosecarmel Tue 04-Jun-19 19:16:41

More chicken jokes!
