Trump, using the language of the playground again.

Calling one who dares to criticise him (albeit in a leaked document/telegram) "wacky" and "a very stupid guy"

Funny that he never seemed to think that of Kim Dannoch until Dannochs opinions of Trump came to light. hmm

Although it seems to be the psychiatric term of the day, Trump does seem to be exhibiting the traits of a Narcissist.

OK Iam - maybe many of us do know about the history.
But it's this repetition of 'special relationship' which seems so hypocritical.
Yes the Americans rescued us in the dark days of WW2. Even then in their own interests too.
But since then our countries, and political principles , have divulged dramatically.
eg How do the American Republican (RW) party regard our Momentum group?

ps I'm off now from this - our Shabbat.

Fennel - my guess is that many of us in the UK know far more about US history than the average Trump supporter, Not just the treatment of the native Americans and slavery but the fight for desegregation and the whole civil rights movement. I remember Little Rock, the murders of brave Civil Rights Activists from the North. Not that Trump was involved in any of that of course.

Fennel, The UK and the US have always had very different views on fundamentals. The NHS a case in point, they see "socialism " as the worst thing ever, and the NHS a prime exmple of socialism at its worst. Most of us see the NHS as the best of British.
Yes, they joined WW2 after Pearl Harbour but we have to be thankful for that late entry because our backs were well and truly against the wall. Thousands of Americans gave their lives to save Europe.
As for your question about how American republicans would regard Momentum, I'm not sure what you're asking. I'm a left leaner, life long Labour voter and I'm unimpressed by Momentum. I feel they're all to similar to Militant who come close to destroying the Labour Party in the 1980's.

The 'special relationship' means much less to me that the EU. I see myself as a European. I trust our European neighbours more than I trust the American government. I mistrust Trump more than any previous President in my life time, and that's saying something.

Iam, to be clear, I think "prejudice" is equal but actions are not- Every prejudice contains the same seed, but each produces either abundantly, barely at all or somewhere in between-

Trump isn't the worse in U.S. History- If I were to consider him worse, I'd be erasing every shred of empathy I had for those that suffered a worse fate than Trump in the past- Lets hope that it doesn't come to that, that he becomes the worse in history-

To only talk about him, or what Native Americans think this minute, and not American history as a whole, is missing the point

I think that you have entirely missed my point, rosecarmel. However, I won't labour it.

Same for me MaizieD.
