Brexit does not mean we automatically veer away from Brussels and into Trumps bed. We will still be doing business with France, Latvia and...well any number of EU member states once we are out of the EU shackles.

Every head of country, every Prime Minister, will be keeping the USA onside, whether they are part of the EU or not.

Our next PM and the ones that follow will ensure that we have a decent working relationship with the USA. Why wouldn't we? Just because Trump is President now, he will be a distant memory (nightmare?) when our GC are fully grown.

And as for sucking up...

What utter rot! There is a massive wall of business men and their computers and telephones and personal representatives/sales people and marketeers who will never get anywhere near the White House and Trump or the Presidents who follow him, whether Republican or Democrat.

Our PM has to suck up? Do you really think thousands of businesses and their staff are going to have to go through Trump? Really?

I shan't reveal names, and neither will you, but thanks to one committee I sit on, I know many business CEOs who do not fear Brexit the way you do. What is most important in their world is that we just get on with it, so that businesses can make plans and deals. The present limbo we are in is destructive.
