Broadband. £30bn

Schools - teaching unions have estimated £12bn to get the schools back to the original level as Johnson has promised.

Changes to tax system

Tax cuts on profit

Annual cost £3.3bn

Not included is the NHS extra promised and the cost of Brexit planning plus the severe loss to the revenue after Brexit. Social care has not been mentioned.

Did you not see, Rishi Sunak being interviewed? He stated that there is a £24 Billion war chest.

And of course, we'll have a few pennies left once we leave the EU.

petra yes of course. But remember that is put aside to mitigate Brexit. Not costed in the above as I indicated.

Neither is the loss to the revenue, together the loss of individual income, which is gob-smackingly frightening.

Currently Brexit is costing £40bn pa.

I’m fortunate enough to be in a similar position to you and would hate to have to justify my right to spend my money on what I deem important.

As to the comment from another poster about voting to leave the EU and having holidays in Europe- how are the two things incompatible. You can enjoy someone’s company without living with them! And yes I am learning Spanish and enjoying the culture as I’m sure Urmstongran is.

It was hilarious like a comedy show Johnson's answers parliament his arms waving full of bluster not much sense, a joke. MPs on both sides found it laughable and Jacob Rees Smug. Is this really a PM Like Benny Hill ha ha.

He is what he wants to be, sets out to achieve, be A Pain In The Butt. That would be a badge of honour description to him.

He has every right to do what he has been doing for so long.

Others have the right to criticise him.

What I don't understand is why the TV channels think it good for the viewer interested in listening to their program content to hear him shouting over their interviews etc. His aim and endeavours are to disrupt what is being aired and follows the TV crews around to achieve that.

Then again perhaps Steve Bray and the EU flags flying in the background chimes with their opinion so they find him an asset. Who knows?

I wish they would go back to doing interviews in the studio or inside somewhere ( anywhere!) that is quiet and we can all hear clearly.

I fully understand that you can enjoy Europe and yet wish to leave the union.....so far so good.

I do find it rather strange when people are hard line in their views ( supporting NF for example),and yet happy to embrace the ex pat lifestyle.

Of course nobody has to answer anything or justify their lifestyle.

that he had the majority support of a tiny, totally unrepresentative minority of the people of this coutry. Can't remember the exact figure , but something less than .5 %

The predictions are that he will be very quickly hoisted by his own and his gang of extremists' petards - just sit back and watch. In the meantime, very hard work is going on to UNITE all in opposition- that amount to a lot more than Conservatives + Brexit Party.

The pound is wilting at the prospect of crashing out with no deal. Steering a course out of this mess requires an extraordinarily deft political touch. Yet the Tories have gambled, choosing a populist leader who is nobody’s idea of a safe pair of hands.

Mr Johnson, who wrote a biography of Winston Churchill and longs for others to see him in that mould, resembles his hero in the sense that he has inherited Britain’s worst crisis since the second world war (see article). Brexit, and a no-deal exit in particular, promises to hurt the economy and leave the country diplomatically isolated in a world where its interests are under threat, as they are right now in the Strait of Hormuz. Right, I'll say this and then retreat- but apart from those with true disabilities, anyone who has not got to grips with the metric system - after more than 50 years - must be pretty 'challenged'.

Both Metric anc Imperial have their strong points - but if you want to export parts and goods to the EU and other countries with metric system- you have to stick to it. Mixing the two will cost massive amounts of money in adaptation equipment and time back and forth- at a time when things are going to be difficult enough.

I think that State schools were obliged to teach the metric system after 1974 but I'm not sure about Eton.

Apparently he is 1.88m tall - I wonder if he knows that?
