So it's Boris

We had a referendum leave won, we had an election in 2017 with 80% of voters backing MPs with support leave manifestos, we recently had the EU elections with Farage destroying all comers, now the Tories voting across the country have voted two thirds to back leaver Boris.

Boris is right ‘we need to get this done now’.

Anyone else feel even just a twinge of sympathy for H.M.? Having to have private meetings with Boris?

Let's face it, he hasn't shown himself to have statesmanlike qualities, although of course he will know the correct form of address etc. however, not sure that will be enough.

Boris spend a long time agonising over whether to back Cameron and remain or whether to campaign for leave.

If only he had jumped the other way we wouldn't be in this pickle now.

"We could be seeing the end of the two party system of politics in Westminster . . . " Good. Confrontational two-party politics are bad for democracy and ultimately for the country. Multi-party discussion and co-operation would be better.

Just so long as it doesn't become a ONE-party system.

Not particularly...he obviously has a good grasp of vocabulary but prefers to play the fool than look as though he's trying hard to say something meaningful (plus ça change). If you want to see a British politician who speaks good French, watch Dominic Grieve.

Dominic Grieve’s mother is French. Not surprising he is fluent. Plus he spends a good deal of time at his family home in France. Practice makes perfect.

Jura, as a Francophile and someone with friends in France, on our travels I hear only that they envy the UK in trying to get out of the EU.

I agree that May's negotiations were a complete and utter farce given it transpired as a remainer she would quite happily tie us to Brussels. I felt her deceit was shameful, because those were three wasted years. Nothing else however gives our French friends any reason for mirth.

The people of France, as you must know, are not exactly enamoured with their government, are they?

Yes, I am sort of home ' the home' where I was born but not the 'home' where I lived for the vast majority of my life. Where I had my children, where my children and grandchildren still are.

We came here to look after my very elderly parents in their last years of life - not for the 'high life', not to 'escape' the country (my OH's country). And yes, the exchange rate was good then- and he now 60% less, and will probably fall even further. Never asked you to care, just say it as it is.

2/3rd of my life are in the UK - where I got British nationality before the EU- kids born, Degree and career got... and my/our only source of income via UK pensions- and where we always thought we would return once our job here was done. Not your problem, I agree. Your rudeness and total lack of empathy is, sadly.
