really going to move in his mistress into number 10?

varian Mon 29-Jul-19 16:55:04

The fact that Johnson is a serial adulterer who has let down his wives and mistresses is reprehensible. It is not the worst thing he is guilty of but is an indication of his untrustworthiness and total lack of consideration for anyone other than himself, even those closest to him.

What is much much worse is that this totally immoral serial liar cares so little for the United Kingdom that he has exploited his career as a journalist and then a politician to deliberately inflict serious harm on our country, attempting to wrench us out of the European Union and rob our children and grandchildren of the future they could have and are now entitled to if the UK remains an influential member of the world's largest and most powerful trading block.

What the press chose to call her is suddenly true ?
Anniebach, just which part of erroneously don't you understand?

paddyann Mon 29-Jul-19 18:57:13

Pogs are you saying you'd be happy for your daughter to be in arealtionship with Boris or any other serial cheat ,and move in with him while he's still married to another woman ?

I must be strange ...I would move heaven and earth to get my daughter away from someone like him .Thankfully my daughter has better morals than to live with a married man.Old fashioned I know but she didn't move in with her husband until there was a ring on her finger .I'm happy with that even in the 21st century .If he can cheat on one ..or more as in Boris' case why would you believe he wont do it to you?

Urmstongran Mon 29-Jul-19 19:32:19

I think it was the married Lloyd George on being asked why he wasn’t taking his wife abroad with him on some convention replied ‘why take a sandwich to a State dinner?’
??

Anniebach Mon 29-Jul-19 19:39:26

Paddyann, she is 31, there is not a thing her parents or anyone could do to call a halt to it.

trisher Mon 29-Jul-19 19:41:53

Do you think in 20 or so years there will be students singing "Boris knew my father. Father knew Boris?"

Iam64 Mon 29-Jul-19 19:49:22

Jura - just a word about Marina Wheeler, the current Ms Johnson. You mentioned in an earlier post the vitriol from former wives. I may have missed it but I can't recall seeing any critical/other comments from Marina Wheeler. One of her children with her current husband, Mr B Johnson has described her father as a "selfish bastard". I've seen comments attributed to 'friends' of former wives/girlfriends of Mr J's but so far, none from Marina Wheeler. Do let me know if I've missed it. If not, I will remain impressed by Ms Wheeler. She's managed to stay alive, keep her career going, care for her 4 children and keep her privacy whilst going through what must have been troubled waters. I almost said 'very' troubled waters but as we all know, 'very' is now banned by order of Mr Reece Mogg.

As for the idea that the parents of a 30 something , independent young woman can have any influence over whether she moves in with a 'married' man - well, I can only say anyone who believes that must live in a very (whoops that word again) different world than I do.

Callistemon Mon 29-Jul-19 20:50:38

Most strong-minded young women of 30 or so are not going to do as mother says and end a relationship that mum doesn't approve of! Mums should not be interfering in an adult child's relationship but could be there to support if it goes wrong.

I don't think that Carrie's mother would be worried about her having a relationship with a soon-to-be divorced man anyway.

We've heard nothing from Marina and, as far as I know, she has maintained a dignified silence.

Iam64 Mon 29-Jul-19 20:52:59

Callistemon - what makes you say Carrie's mother wouldn't be worried about her having a relationship with a soon to be divorced man. I wouldn't be worried if one of my 30 somethings was doing that but - I'd be very worried if the man was Boris Johnson.

Davidhs Mon 29-Jul-19 20:58:32

I’m not too much bothered about Boris moving his latest girlfriend into No 10 although it is something of a precedent, we have never had a married PM moving into No 10 with another woman.
Of more concern is she she works for Bloomberg the US business analysis and information company, there are plenty of ways that U.K.sensitive information might be leaked or US influence might occur.
That is a whole lot different to Major and Currie or Wilson and Marcia

Callistemon Mon 29-Jul-19 21:07:14

I understood that Carrie's parents were each married to other people when they had an affair, Carrie being the product of that relationship.
I would think if mother offered any criticism at all it would be smartly rebuffed.

I think they were all fairly left-wing though - that could worry them!

Anniebach Mon 29-Jul-19 21:09:53

And Lady Dorothy MacMillan, husband PM MacMillan ,
Lord Boothby, Duke of Devonshire, serial killer John Bodkins Adams, the Kray twins . !

MawBroonsback Mon 29-Jul-19 21:18:07

Not to mention Lloyd George
Frances Louise Stevenson was born in London. She was the daughter of a Lowland Scottish father and a mother of mixed French and Italian extraction. She was educated at Clapham High School, where in the fifth form she had made friends with Mair, Lloyd George's oldest daughter, and then at Royal Holloway College where she studied Classics

In July 1911 Lloyd George, then Chancellor of the Exchequer, hired Stevenson as a governess for his youngest daughter Megan. Lloyd George and Stevenson were soon attracted to each other. Although Stevenson, who wanted a conventional marriage and many children, hesitated about becoming the mistress of a married man, she agreed to become Lloyd George's personal secretary on his terms, which included a sexual relationship, in 1913
She was created a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 1918 New Year Honours[3] and accompanied Lloyd George to the Paris Peace Conference of 1919. The delegates were under the impression she was still just his secretary.[4] Stevenson chose the location and supervised the construction of Lloyd George's house Bron-y-de in Churt, Surrey

lemongrove Mon 29-Jul-19 21:27:05

Ah yes, the wonderful Lloyd George! ?

Callistemon Mon 29-Jul-19 22:11:36

Might it be easier to ask which Prime Ministers have not had affairs?

Margaret T
Theresa M

Anniebach Mon 29-Jul-19 22:17:33

Gordon Brown. Tony Blair. James Callaghan. David Cameron. Clem Attlee, Churchill. Macmillan .

suziewoozie Mon 29-Jul-19 23:21:26

Well Marina was having an affair with BJ whilst he was married to Mrs J the first - he just got a divorce in time to marry her (Marina) days before their first child was born. Then whilst she produced nos 2, 3 and 4 he adultered around impregnating all and sundry, paying for an abortion on the way and lying about that affair. The innocent victims here are the children - none of the adults involved come out of this with any credit and that includes STB Mrs J the third. I know I’ve said this before but I think parents should take their responsibilities as parents seriously and having multiple affairs whilst your children are young especially is not being a responsible and loving parent. Do I think that all says something about him in the public sphere as well as the private sphere? You betcha.

SueDonim Mon 29-Jul-19 23:31:32

With Macmillan, it was his wife who had the affair. I seem to recall. He was tainted by the Profumo affair, too.

Davidhs Tue 30-Jul-19 07:48:49

Funny that Profumo has been mentioned, Christine Keeler was also in bed with the Russian but no wrong doing was ever proved.
Now our PM is in bed with a reporter and pillow talk could be potentially just as damaging to the UK. Just think of the revenge revelations when he gets bored of her and takes up with a new woman.

Anniebach Tue 30-Jul-19 08:31:38

the 2nd Mrs Johnson started an affair when he was married to the 1st Mrs Johnson ?

TerriBull Tue 30-Jul-19 09:08:51

Undoubtedly BJ is a cheat, but is it anyone's business other than Marina Wheeler and their children. Let's face it highly revered politicians have been womanisers, JFK was practically elevated to saint level when I was growing up, because we didn't know about his shenanigans. Bill Clinton, well everything was more transparent by then, but in retrospect he's not that reviled, well not compared to the clown we've got in the White House now. Even the sainted Jeremy has had his moments, trips to East Germany when it was a truly depressing place, but of course he does embrace misery so well confused with a certain somebody riding pillion on a motorbike I gather, wasn't he still married at the time? Maybe, I'll stand corrected if that wasn't the case.

Anniebach Tue 30-Jul-19 09:14:42

Yes Corbyn had an affair with Diane Abbott whilst still married

TerriBull Tue 30-Jul-19 09:22:58

Well there you go! Thanks for the clarification Annie.

Even saints can veer off the straight and narrow, nonetheless to slightly adapt those asinine somewhat over the top words of Donald Tusk, there will be a special place in hell for such philanderers, or we could all be simply more magnanimous and just remember what Jesus said, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

suziewoozie Tue 30-Jul-19 09:32:35

annie is correct in that he was still married but misses out the fact that the brief relationship happened after Corbyn’s first wife left him. Also no children were involved . This is a far cry from Johnson’s behaviour.

Anniebach Tue 30-Jul-19 10:01:28

And the first wife said Abbott turned up at her flat and told her to get out of London.
