Boris and Cambridge Analytica

he was asked in the HoC yesterday 'why did you visit Cambridge Analytica in 2016?' and his reply was 'I don't know' and sat down.

Can he just be let off answering such a massively important question. His answer was hugely rude, dismissive and arrogant - but surely, and much more importantly, refusing to answer for his actions. We all now know the rôle Cambridge Analytica played in the campaign - and he has even appointed Cummings as Chief Advisor.

This is seriously concerning. What is the HoC's rules re different MPs asking the same question? It needs asking, every day, every session- until he gives an answer.

not a scouser then SirC? lol

MaizieD Sat 27-Jul-19 12:12:36

It’s much more interesting though.

It really, really isn't, you know.

SirChenjin Sat 27-Jul-19 12:15:37

In your opinion, you know.

lemongrove Sat 27-Jul-19 12:19:24

Not to you MaizieD ( obviously.)

Does The Bank Of Scotland serve drinks now SirC ?
What a wonderful idea, hope it catches on here( I was just going to get some cash out, but am happy to stay for a rhubarb gin.)??

GrannyGravy13 Sat 27-Jul-19 12:21:08

If the Bank of Scotland serves drinks, I am going to change who I bank with pronto ??????

SirChenjin Sat 27-Jul-19 12:31:24

Can you imagine?! I’d definitely move there too! Their profits would sky rocket with everyone signing up for loans after one too many gins and in years to come it will be known as the GGI (great gin insurance) scandal with banks having to repay missold policies ?????????

Shall we return to CA and big data?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 27-Jul-19 12:49:21

No I am enjoying this more.......life’s to short. I am finding myself less interested in politics by the day!!!!

SirChenjin Sat 27-Jul-19 12:58:22

Oh me too - I feel utterly fed up and dragged down by the whole thing. I don’t remember politics ever being such an integral part of our lives or so divisive - or maybe it was and I just didn’t notice so much confused I blame social media - everyone seems to be so angry all the time

MawBroonsback Sat 27-Jul-19 12:59:55

not a scouser then SirC? lol

Why would you think that Jura ?

SirChenjin Sat 27-Jul-19 13:07:01

No - from Kent jura smile

Is the och sound pronounced by Scousers?

GillT57 Sat 27-Jul-19 13:07:50

Quizqueen I was going to point out to you again that it is not just 'lefties' who dislike and distrust Johnson, and many 'righties' voted to remain, but then I realised that I will never convince you of this, so I will leave you to fantasise over JRM ( is their an emoticon for a little bit of sick?) as I mix myself a Scottish G & T, a fine locally distilled one. Cambridge Analytica will never penetrate my gin fuddled mind, maybe that is the answer?

lemongrove Sat 27-Jul-19 13:14:10

jura you say ‘ there is no Loch Lomond anywhere’
Quite right, well spotted.
It was made up by Andy Stewart in The White Heather Club
In 1960. Since then it has amused many locals as they observe tourists milling around trying to find it ( as well as the bonny banks.)
Incidentally, my DH had a nasty accident in the trossachs once, it put him off horse riding for life.

SirChenjin Sat 27-Jul-19 13:27:48

There’s no Loch Lomond?! confused

lemongrove Sat 27-Jul-19 14:02:58

grin

jura2 Sat 27-Jul-19 14:38:11

Loch Lomond is wonderful - but nowhere near the mystical Loch Lomand!

Yes, Sir C. - scousers do intend pronounce 'ck' as a grating 'ch with an 'r'' - very similar to Swiss German too lol.

jura2 Sat 27-Jul-19 14:45:42

indeed ...

Callistemon Sat 27-Jul-19 14:55:10

Took me a while to get used to it when I moved up here and learning how to say the och bit rather than ock
If you find saying och difficult you should try living in Wales SirChenjin shock
By the time you've tried pronouncing some of the Welsh words on the road signs and searched for the English translation, you could have gone into the car in front!

SirChenjin Sat 27-Jul-19 15:50:53

Oh I could imagine Callistemon!

I'll always remember the day I heard a very strong Scouse accent. Dovedale, Peak District. Our girls had clambered up rocks to a cave, and a teenager was shouting from the top 'I'm stoch on a roch and I wanna get bach' - again and again.

Two young women kept shouting back she could do it. And I asked them what she was shouting 'I'm stuck on a rock and I want to get back' ... they were social workers from Liverpool who had taken a couple of girls away from a childrens' home for the week-end. An ear opener for me and my girls and friends.

We are facing a possible economic disaster and lead now by an egomaniac. Why shouldn’t we protest and dissect his ability and character at every opportunity?
