I saw this article today -

www.msn.com/en-gb/news/royal-family/meghan-and-harrys-neighbours-given-rules-on-how-to-act-near-the-royal-couple/ar-AAEWck4?ocid=spartanntp

It seemed an over the top briefing to me but the thing that stumped me was that you cant pat their dogs if they approach you\??????

Do we bow? ( wow wow :-) )

The briefing was not something the royal couple had knowledge of apparently, just an estate manager explaining how to welcome 'new neighbours' .

I'm of the opinion if the dogs are not aggressive then Id pat and if they are aggressive why are they running loose?

What are your thoughts? To pat or not to pat ?

Don't post anything through the letterbox of Frogmore Cottage

Assuming you can get close enough, do they actually have a letterbox? Surely all their post is security vetted somewhere else.

I just can't imagine Postman Pat whistling his way up the drive bidding, 'Good Morning' to the gardener and stopping for a cuppa with the cook!

“SueDomin” years ago we were dog walking on a nearby permitted area of MOD land when all of a sudden the bushes did get up and start moving. grin

Yikes, Dustyangel - that would give you a bit of a fright, like Shakespeare's Birnam Wood to Dunsinane come to life! grin

I wonder if H & M get piles of crap junk mail shoved through their letterbox or whether the new diktat for their neighbours will also extend to local double glazing salesmen; loft extension companies and pizza deliveries too? hmm

This makes me snort.

The advice about not patting dogs is good but wasn't this written in order to elevate royalty above the plebs?

Heaven forfend you should ask to see her baby as if she was just like any other Mum in the village!

"Know your place, peasant, you're not even worthy to pat the dogs and don't forget the forelock.'

grin grin grin grin
