So Boris, elected by 0.5% of the population has now done the dirty! I’m appalled and greatly worried by this action. He is playing politics at a time of national crisis.

Where is the democracy in any of this? I’m so ????

Didn’t see the other thread but my comments still hold.

In 1642, Charles I suspended Parliament. The MPs decamped to the Guild Hall courtesy of the Lord Mayor, and carried on.
Didn't end well for the king

It is getting serious- yes I know, hysterical some of you will say- but it feels like Civil War.

Absolutely, the man is a gambler, dishonest and cynical, out for his own ends and he's playing with the stability and economic welfare of the nation and people support him! Of course, the tabloids have a lot to answer for, the headlines lately have been overt lies which I am amazed they are allowed to publish.

And let us not forget David Cameron and the Tory Party whose perpetual wars are costing us a fortune. They have split the country, I wouldn't be surprised to see trouble on the streets.

Remember Cameron saying 'it is strong stable Government with me or chaos with Milliband' sad sad sad

Peonyrose Wed 28-Aug-19 18:46:48

Not a Boris fan' but it needed tough action, which the Queen sanctioned.

I think this proves that the Queen is indeed merely a plaster cast of a monarch rolled out for ceremonial purposes only. If ever there was a moment when her hands were tied, this is it!

God save the queen flowers

rule Britannia

lemongrove Wed 28-Aug-19 19:27:02

notentirelyallhere Didn’t you realise this before now?

Peonyrose ??Exactly, we cannot carry on as a nation like we are doing now, we are either in or out of the EU.

paddyann Wed 28-Aug-19 19:28:05

ha bloody ha ,God may well be the only one who can save her after this debacle comes to its end ..and as for Rule Britannia???What century are YOU living in ? This DISunited kingdom is on its knees

Jabberwok Wed 28-Aug-19 19:44:08

Hooray, God save the Queen. Best news for weeks!!

Jane10 Wed 28-Aug-19 19:51:50

I've grudgingly got to hand it to Boris. Currently he's trying to negotiate with EU while they just think anything he does will just be negated by Westminster. This way he looks like he's playing hard ball. Interesting times.

Lots of protests happening on Saturday

It won't end well, and our children and their children will pay the price.

Peonyrose Wed 28-Aug-19 20:04:26

Hope the protests are peaceful.

Jane10 Wed 28-Aug-19 20:06:28

Stop catastrophising everybody. Don't let yourselves be wound up by the media.

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Aug-19 20:09:16

I don't remember that jura but if he really believed it was a strong stable gov. with him, why did he resign?

lemongrove Wed 28-Aug-19 20:10:23

Well said Jane10 but catastrophising and mass hysteria is what social media does best ( unfortunately.)

Opal Wed 28-Aug-19 20:15:19

Social media AND some remainers grin

Jane10 Wed 28-Aug-19 20:31:49

I was a remainer but wanted a deal if we had to go. The whiners at Westminster should have voted for Theresa's deal and just got on with sorting out the red tape. Not the end of the world and it still isn't.

lemongrove Wed 28-Aug-19 20:38:10

Amen to that Jane10 ??

Urmstongran Wed 28-Aug-19 20:44:39

Sensible post Jane10
A voice of reason.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-Aug-19 20:47:56

Jane10 ????

Niobe Wed 28-Aug-19 21:42:22

Jane 10, my thoughts exactly! I think that Boris is sending a message to the EU.
