You lost.
Get over it.
Glad that you know the values of over 17 million people growstuff...quite an achievement!
I get lost at 'Remoaners'. As soon as that word is used, I know that I am dealing with someone who is not going to engage with the issues, or debate the topic in anything other than insults. I feel much the same about 'winning' and 'losing'.
People have strong feelings on both sides, and to take pleasure in others' unhappiness is horrible.
I am the only leaver in my family. However none of the remainers in my family are ‘exploding with rage’. They’ve certainly never called me a racist bigot.
Much like the majority of leavers are decent people, so are the majority of remainers. There are people on both sides who have called the other terrible things. Whenever it comes to political views there will also be some extremists, on both sides of the coin.
My dil is very upset about parliament being suspended. Not because she was hoping they were going to stop brexit, but because it will cause a delay in a new Domestic Abuse Bill being passed. Due to a very traumatic past she was heavily invested in this. I can fully understand her feelings.
It's horrible OP!
Why post something like that? What does the OP hope to achieve? ??
growstuff your attitude towards leavers is so condescending, it's laughable. Please do enlighten me, as you obviously know me and each and every leaver in the land so well, what are "my values"?
I'd say this move has driven yet another wedge into the divisions created by Brexit. Now we find leavers cheering this coup and Remainers decrying it.
It's worth remembering that the whole issue of EU membership was barely registering as an issue before around 2015. Many were too apathetic to even vote and those that did weren't necesarily that fanatical about how they did vote, some more or less voted on a whim.
Now it's simply become an issue of pride for leavers,I don't think many even reflect on consequences anymore. This division isn't going away, especially give the way it's being handled.
I can imagine the rage if it were a Labour government that had done this - the Establishment would be plotting a military coup, and not for the first time.
"You lost. Get over it."
This arrogant statement really frightens me. My concerns are with the future of the UK, not the unstated values of the Leavers.
A No deal Brexit will really damage the economy. This was made clear 3 years ago, and brushed aside as 'Project Fear'. It is now happening. We lose all the benefits of being a leading power in Europe, to being a puppet of President Trump.
I worry for those who have been suffering under Tory austerity for 9 years. I worry for the young people whose chances of working in Europe have been removed.
I worry for those who can make the statement above with glee, with not a thought for the actual ramifications
And now I am shocked by Johnson's efforts to silence Parliament. This is not the democracy Leavers claim
Isn't it strange the people complaining about what Johnson has done are perfectly happy at the prospect of a group ousting the sitting PM and installing a man who all polls show would never be elected.
I agree WadesNan they are hyprocrites.
Why assume that those who complain about Johnson would welcome Corbyn as PM? It’s not a binary choice. I’d rather have an elected PM thanks. ( elected in a GE)
The question asked on the referendum ballot paper was:
Do you want to leave the EU?
Do you want to remain in the EU?
There was no mention of a 'deal'!
I haven’t read through the whole thread, but would just answer OP with one word
Schadenfreude
Not an attractive attribute.
Who's that then, Wadesnan?
Sums it up exactly and re-affirms my comment about posters who are downright nasty.
I'm sure you understand the meaning of what you write, Opal. I don't need to know you to realise what you mean in what you write. We have little in common. If you think that's condescending, I can't say it bothers me.
My gloating is pay back for years of being called an ignorant racist by some remainers.
All’s fair in love & war.
Those who promote hate between people for any reason are responsible for most of the misery and wars in this world. The OP is obviously one of those.
I feel sorry for the OP. Those who hate are generally frightened people. The OP has had someone insult them and in their fear has withdrawn into a lonely world of hate.
Perhaps what we should really do is offer our hands to them in friendship and help them learn that it is possible to differ in views from someone, yet remain friends and that those who insult other people should be ignored and forgotten.

Spot on
It’s not attractive to be a sore loser and take your anger out on people who just voted a different way from you.
Leavers have been subjected to years of disgusting abuse from remainers, maybe not on this forum but certainly on others ( Mumsnet included ) I’ve even seen posts from remainers saying all leave voters should be exterminated, be made to wear a mark on their heads so they can be identified, be made to wait at the back of any rationing queue because they ‘caused this’. - and that’s without the 1000’s of posts calling all leave voters thick racists.
So forgive me if I’m not too bothered about a load of very dangerous people stamping their feet even harder.
I must say though - the vast majority of remainers just want to leave now and get on with their lives, it’s only a small, hardcore, group of very vocal remainers who want to overturn the democratic will of the people.
Hear hear Kandinsky my thoughts exactly.
Who's stamping their feet? Who's taking out their anger because they're a loser?
It seems to me that some people are sore winners. Maybe some psychologist could explain why they seem to have such a victim complex. Maybe they're just very angry people who need to have a go at other people.
Can't say I know or am bothered and I'm mature enough to dismiss people who like to celebrate at other people's loss.
Dangerous? Really?
On the contrary,Kandinsky, it's you Brexiteers who've acted in a racist manner by foregoing any freedom of movement concerning people of other countries being allowed here.
Think about it ! Border controls ? What's that about ? Remember the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie ? Do you really want this here ? Trump and his wall dividing Mexico and the USA ? Is that the sort of thing you hope for ?
The Peace Process ( Good Friday Agreement 1998 ) shattered in Northern Ireland ? The REAL threat of peace being shattered by a no-deal Brexit ? Is this what you wish for ?
Do you want our troops/police sent to NI ?
Like us in the NW, NI are being totally ignored by Westminster and there's no doubt that a no-deal Brexit without a backstop in NI is/will be cause for concern.
There seems to be no acceptance of different viewpoints on Gransnet, so much anger on all sides.
I expect you will have plenty of company Kandinsky. You and and the people who would go and watch public hangings, floggings and stonings - oh and the ones cheering the man bringing home the "little piece of paper" before all that went pear-snapped. We all know know just how deeply offensive, not to say ignorant people can be even if we didn't know before so unreasonable? Well people can't be expected to fight deeply psychotic natures, can they?
