The next General Election

I'll be voting labour as our MP is wonderful, unlike his conservative opposite who supports hunting and the badger cull. Whilst I don't think Corbyn would make a good PM I was very impressed by the policy shaping sessions that John McDonell took around the country inviting local people to become involved in policy creation.

I am against the SNP being part of a coalition , are there SNP
members in England N.Ireland, Wales ?

When I first joined Gransnet there seemed to be about an equal number and left and right wing views on the politics forums.
Then about a year ago I felt as if there were hardly any left wingers.
Then just recently I have seen a few more left wing voices.

Whether this reflects the views of the country I have no idea.

My dream is to have some sort of coalition; Labour/Lib/Dem/SNP with Keir Starmer as leader.

The Brexit chaos is all the fault of the Tories and only them.

I shall vote Liberal though the constituency I live in is safe tory. I have mostly voted Labour all my life but did vote for Cameron. I cannot bring myself to vote for the present Labour party. They are as much to blame for the present situation as the government is. Hopeless government and hopeless oposition.

Yes I agree. Most of them are untrustworthy. But it had been proven Mr Johnson is untrustworthy and still he lies. His ego is through the roof. I think he's a dangerous politician. His can we teach our youngsters the true value of honesty, integrity kindness but still support the opposite in public life! He's immoral.IMO and I can't forget all the decent hisenst brave folks that have gone before him. They'll be turning in their graves.

Jo Swinson Lib Dem backed the Tory austerity programme to the hilt and has still said we need to tighten our belts.

The trouble is Granniesunite, wherever you look, you see the same untrustworthy, lying politicians, I voted to remain, but the vile behaviour of some remainers has made me ashamed, I just can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel.

SNP for me. I'm not prepared to listen to a man that has a history of lying, lying every time he opens his mouth. Imp when your brother and sister express unease at his "reasoning" you listen to that. He's shown us what he is. Is clear to me anyway that he's copying trump . I want no truck with that kind of behaviour.

Yes, growstuff, I agree about the LibDems and their honesty. A clear message of intent, no fence-sitting or multiple factions.

I have changed my mind, I will vote for Libs, this has been a Tory seat since the seventies, Libs only won the by election because the Greens and Plaid Cymru didn’t put up a candidate to keep the Tory out. Labour has come 2nd at every
election since the seventies, at the by election they nearly lost
their deposit.

Deselection is likely to result in more hard-line MPs in both Conservative and Labour parties, so could end up with more moderates, perhaps the LibDems.

Why are the LibDems arrogant? Almost half of those who voted in the referendum didn't want Article 50. The LibDems are targeting those people. If you want to revoke Article 50, vote LibDem. If you don't and/or think there's another solution, don't vote LibDem. It's quite simple really. The LibDems are being honest about what they're selling. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. I don't see how that is arrogant.

I think we will see a lot of tactical voting by those who cannot bear the thought of Johnson and/or Corbyn.

Not sure why there is so much venom on GN about the LibDems - their sins are little more than compromises forced on them by the Conservatives. The coalition was not ideal, but better than the alternatives - IMHO!

I shall vote LibDem as being the best way to oust our sitting Tory, however it would take a seismic change in voting intentions to unseat him. My natural home is the pre-Corbyn Labour party. I could not vote Labour currently.

I think it is arrogant of Lib Dems to revoke Article 50 without a 2nd referendum. I dont see how we can move forward without one whoever is in government.

And me. I suppose what might happen though is that some MP’s will get deselected as their views in the HoC don’t chime with their constituents by a long country mile - Anna Soubry, Yvette Cooper, Jess Phillips, Dominic Grieve etc. etc.

A shake up in the dynamic of Parliament might sort out the logjam.

We are in a safe Tory constituency, but I’m not sure anything can really be considered safe anymore. If someone like me, who has never even considered voting any other way can’t bring themselves to do it, a lot of others may be feeling the same way. There could be some big upsets in safe seats.

We actually have a Labour MP who is anti Corbyn and pro Remain, plus she is local and her mum lives in my road, but she hasn’t put her head above the parapet so I probably won’t vote for her. I have voted Green/ LD in the past, but will wait and see who are local candidates are.

Lib Dem, but I do wish I was living north of the Border!

Oh yes our local MP is Nicky Morgan who I think is a turncoat and I don’t like Jo Swinson.

Now maybe if Anna Soubry and Ken Clarke got together ....

I live in a safe Labour seat, so it really doesn't matter who I vote for.
