In response to the Leavers having a topic all to them themselves, I am starting one for the Remainers. So feel free to vent your delight in how we are doing. to stop this mess. So Remainers only please others have your own site.

I notice some of those hosting politics programmes are still picking up and chiming out the words coming from No. 10 and Dominic Cummings. Perhaps it's time to have another look into press behaviour.

GracesGranMK3 Fri 25-Oct-19 11:09:56

Good. It has been apparent that was where they lay the blame but Johnson needed telling. His arrogance seems to blind him just as Cameron's did.

ayse Fri 25-Oct-19 10:29:50

An article in The Independent is reporting that Junker has blasted Boris et al about the lies they told in the referendum and has taken our press to task for their lies.

He didn’t intervene!

grapefruitpip Fri 25-Oct-19 10:13:19

Cameron played a blinder didn't he?

GracesGranMK3 Fri 25-Oct-19 09:58:16

I don't think the article was saying anyone is surprised Pantglas2 but rather that Johnson lied - yet again.

Pantglas2 Fri 25-Oct-19 09:55:39

Why is anyone surprised by that? It took forty years to become as entangled in EUternity as we are now and there’s still the euro and military to come!

GracesGranMK3 Fri 25-Oct-19 09:45:44

Just been reading an article in the Economist. The last paragraph makes your heart sink.

One way or another, an election is likely in the next few months. And then Mr Johnson’s final falsehood will be exposed: that his deal means Brexit is done and dusted. In truth, the withdrawal agreement is but the beginning. Hard negotiations on transition, trade, security and more will take up most of the next few years. As Denis MacShane, a former Labour Europe minister, entitles his new book on the subject, what really lies ahead is “Brexiternity”.

Someone on facebook pointed out that 12 Dec is @ when the universities break up for Christmas so a lot of students will be registered to vote in the wrong place.

absthame Thu 24-Oct-19 22:45:24

I wish that the opposition parties would get together and form a national government with the purpose of passing the deal with an attached confirmatory vote and a GE on the same day. If not then the LP should not agree to an election before March.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Oct-19 22:34:09

The Queen must be wishing Johnson up the cat’s ass.

Labaik Thu 24-Oct-19 22:20:00

Has a PM ever gone on strike before? Things are happening in this country that, a few years ago would have been unthinkable.

Grandad1943 Thu 24-Oct-19 21:17:31

Well, out by October 31st now will definitely will not happen despite the Buffoons solemn pledge it would when he took over the leadership of the ERG/Tory Party.

It would seem that ditches are being dug all over the country. So, he can choose whichever one he wishes to be found in.

Not only is Johnson a lier, but he is also a born loser with another lost vote coming up on Monday it would seem.

What will that make, 14-0 in the House of Commons I believe? ??

GrannyGravy13 Thu 24-Oct-19 21:02:32

Callistemon forget the sweets I am clearing the wine shelves ????

Callistemon Thu 24-Oct-19 20:57:53

That has reminded me to put 'sweets' on the shopping list for any trick or treaters.
Thanks.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Oct-19 20:46:45

Just seen a “ get ready for 31 October” advert.
???

How much money has been wasted on that?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Oct-19 20:34:19

??

grapefruitpip Thu 24-Oct-19 20:33:19

Exhaustion sets in. i can't understand a damn thing any more.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Oct-19 20:23:25

gfp Johnson wishes!!

So the toddler is now screaming.

Threatening to go on strike.

Mind you - would we really notice as they’ve been totally ineffectual so far except alienating their supporters like the DUP and 21Tories.

grapefruitpip Thu 24-Oct-19 20:18:50

What's going on? An election?

As
@BorisJohnson
throws another tantrum tactic don’t forget he failed on main pledge - out by Oct 31. He has sent the letter he said he would never send +and asked for Extension he said he would never ask for. I want to hear him say a second referendum will be over his dead body

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Oct-19 20:08:47

The government is threatening to go on strike??

Bring it on I say. The opposition can take control and sort out the WA in good time and get this country up from its knees.

Pantglas2 Thu 24-Oct-19 20:00:32

We holidayed in Greece before they adopted the euro and saw prices ‘rounded’ up and also saw no receipts handed out in kafeneions for years before they got into such difficulties that they needed a bailout.

I was there last week, and my remainer friends still talk about EU money for projects that disappeared with no subsequent audits.... and people wonder why uk voted to leave!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 24-Oct-19 19:59:20

Cannot see what is good about a Parliament that cannot pass legislation, whether that be Brexit related, NHS, Climate related or anything else.

Dinahmo Thu 24-Oct-19 19:57:48

Growstuff We know someone here in France who voted to leave. Haven't seen him for a while but at one time his voice was to be heard saying " German car industry......" "prosecco....." etc. We couldn't understand it because, like many expats, we have a lot to lose.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 24-Oct-19 19:51:09

Labour are going to abstain on Monday

Good stuff
