Remainers must vote tactically

Just that really.

Gina Miller will be advising the best way and who to vote for.

I’ll post it as it comes into notice.

The only way of getting a clear single issue vote is another referendum, so you can’t pretend a GE is all about Brexit. May tried that one and look where it got her. If I live in a remain area and my MP is a remainer I might vote for him/ her. I’d prefer Greens but they haven’t a hope.

lemongrove Wed 30-Oct-19 09:33:33

If it’s a vain hope in your constituency, .......vote for your green friend if you believe in her.

We have reached a tipping point in this country, a time when the line between right & wrong, Justice & injustice has never been so starkly drawn. We all now have to pick a side, it really is that simple. I choose right over wrong, I choose Labour

I have no idea who to vote for. I cannot vote Tory, I don’t agree with Jo Swinson and I won’t vote Labour. Let’s hope there is another candidate I can trust!

Callistemon Wed 30-Oct-19 09:39:23

That's why your Green party candidate will never get in.
If everyone saying 'I would vote for for her but she'll never get elected' did actually vote for her then she might stand a chance!

The same with our Lib Dem candidate.
Lib Dems always do well in local elections though.

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:40:46

I've thought about lemongrove but the optimist in me takes over and I'll vote for the person with the best chance of toppling the useless sitting MP.

The Conservative Party, which used to hold nearly all seats on the local council, was absolutely wiped out in the last local election, so maybe miracles do happen.

Jabberwok Wed 30-Oct-19 09:41:48

Our MP is, and always has been a Brexiteer, so he will get our vote! DH has just emailed him to wish him luck and assure him of our support.
Gina Miller? I don't think so! I agree with you Lemon! ??

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Oct-19 09:42:27

I would never vote tactically, I vote on what is best for my local area.

Gina Miller is gathering her little herd of sheep to "gerrymander" the electorate. She doesn't give a thought to the man in the street, just what she wants.

I put her in the same category as Cummings and Campbell in as much as they are unelected but intent on pushing their own agenda. (Fortunately Cummings is allegedly departing at the end of this month)

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:45:04

Callistemon The problem is actually because the opposition parties here can't agree amongst themselves. There's a history of disagreement. The Greens need some charismatic campaigning and people - and some serious money. Things are changing, though.

growstuff Wed 30-Oct-19 09:47:14

Gina Miller cares about the law, which ultimately protects the man (and woman) on the street. Cummings couldn't give a monkeys about anyone or anything except his own ego.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Oct-19 09:48:41

growstuff If the greens had some money behind them and came up with some workable policies I would definitely consider voting for them as our local Green Candidate is really nice, but doesn't stand a snowballs in hell chance of ever getting elected.

Here you are. If you want to consider whether or not to vote tactically

My next door mp is the Green?

Lovetopaint037 Wed 30-Oct-19 10:05:59

We have a waste of space Tory MP who sits in a safe seat. I am using the Libs tactical voting scheme. I signed up for it and will be hearing the results soon.
My long allegiance to the a Labour Party is over until Corbyn is replaced with a more centrist candidate.

Gonegirl Wed 30-Oct-19 10:08:42

But this is just joining in with the silly antics.

Can't do it.

Riverwalk Wed 30-Oct-19 10:11:34

Talking of 'bussed-in' candidates it's rumoured that Bozo is looking for a safer seat! grin

Shelmiss Wed 30-Oct-19 10:17:09

I’m a lifelong Tory voter, but no more. The way they have behaved over the Brexit debacle is shameful. I refuse to vote Labour so my vote will be going to the Lib Dems. I don’t know if that’s tactical voting or not, but I can’t vote for Boris. Or Corbyn.

Grany Wed 30-Oct-19 10:33:09

Lifelong Labour voter even more so as joined became a member when Jeremy Corbyn became leader. A socialist leader.

It's all ridiculous anyway. People will be voting tactically and then, after Brexit has been decided one way or another, they will be stuck with the policies of the party they helped bring to power, whether they agree with their manifesto or not. Where is the sense in it?

It should be a second referendum.

SirChenjin Wed 30-Oct-19 10:46:35

Well said Gonegirl

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Oct-19 11:03:00

Well said gonegirl

Grany Wed 30-Oct-19 11:04:26

I agree I see no sense in it gonegirl vote for the party who polices you want.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 30-Oct-19 11:09:21

gonegirl I couldn’t agree more.

But we are lumbered.

So I’m trying for a double whammy?

1.Stop Johnson from his destructive policies

2.Achieve a soft Brexit or remain.

My MP is Peter Kyle. So he will be getting my vote.

Ilovecheese Wed 30-Oct-19 11:10:10

I agree with the previous posters, a general election should not be decided on a single issue.
If I was to vote tactically for remain it would mean voting for the Lib Dems, who might then go into coalition with the Tories again and introduce even more right wing policies. I know that there are many decent Lib Dem voters but with Jo Swinson as leader I just couldn't trust them not to continue with austerity.
