Just that really.

Gina Miller will be advising the best way and who to vote for.

I’ll post it as it comes into notice.

SirChenjin Tue 05-Nov-19 17:42:06

In what way does she not believe in democracy lady?

Tooting29 Tue 05-Nov-19 17:49:57

I often wonder how and who finances Gina Miller do we know?
For me I intend to step back from the headlines, latest soundbite, whipped up media frenzy on the latest "development" or gaff and make a rational unemotional choice. As I am not affiliated to any particular party, I will be looking at each candidates track record, experience alongside reading the manifestos and contacting each candidate individually. I'm not particularly impressed with the LP trumpesque chanting, anymore than I am endeared to posh white blokes running the country. I want someone with some metaphoric balls to fight for our local schools, hospital, jobs, transport links, local housing, for our countryside, for our farmers. Someone with character who I consider worthy of my vote. And if none of them fit the bill then I might just register my protest by spoiling the paper The election has barely started and its tedious already

Tooting29 Tue 05-Nov-19 19:16:20

Above all I will not respond to anyone telling me what I must do. Off the reread Animal Farm I think.
Baa.. 2 legs bad 4 legs good...

The LibDems, Greens and Plaid Cymru have agreed a " Unite to Remain" arrangement affecting 60 constituencies where only one Remain supporting party will stand a candidate in the general election to maximise the chances of a Remain party being elected.

Anniebach Fri 08-Nov-19 08:57:17

It takes away the voters choice, I want to vote for Plaid Cymru, but the. Choice is Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem ,
so not voting .

varian Fri 08-Nov-19 10:31:23

Annie this is a vital election. If you really don't care whether our future and that of our grandchildren, is damaged by brexit, don't vote, but you could help to get a better future by voting LibDem.

In a number of other Welsh constituencies supporters of the Libdems and Greens will be voting for Plaid Cymru

Anniebach Fri 08-Nov-19 10:42:46

varian the conservatives want brexit, the Libs don’t and labour refuses to say, and if Corbyn wins the election the Libs will do the same as they did with the conservatives.

Brexit will happen

varian Fri 08-Nov-19 12:59:15

I cannot predict what will happen but I do know that the Liberal Democrats will do everything possible to stop brexit. We must vote for the party most likely to stop brexit, unless of course brexit is what you still .want

Anniebach Fri 08-Nov-19 13:09:55

The Libs cannot stop it, I wish they could

varian Fri 08-Nov-19 14:56:39

Every vote makes it more likely, so please use yours to good effect Annie

Remainers - if you want to vote for the candidate best placed to stop brexit in your constituency you can enter your postcode to get the tactical voting recommendation on the Best for Britain website.

Gina Miller dictating to me how to vote. I don't think so. I will make up my own mind which I have done since I first voted at age 18. No one should be telling anyone who or what to vote for.

SirChenjin Sun 10-Nov-19 15:32:25

No-one’s telling anyone what to do - it’s an optional website for people who might want to use their vote tactically!

ladymuck Sun 10-Nov-19 15:36:48

When you are pondering who best to vote for, please remember that there is more to this election than Brexit. You might vote for the LibDems and stop Brexit...but what then? Think about all the other issues facing this country. Is Jo Swinson really up to the job?

SirChenjin Sun 10-Nov-19 15:38:25

Are any of them really up to the job? sad

crystaltipps Sun 10-Nov-19 17:19:26

My heart says vote Green as I believe the environment is the most critical issue facing us. Brexit is just a shitty sideshow, however,Green won’t have a chance of winning in my constituency so I’m voting for the remain candidate who has the best chance of winning.

Urmstongran Sun 10-Nov-19 17:50:59

If Caroline Lucas believes that we are heading for a hung parliament, then she has a serious disconnect with reality:

But, she is disconnected from reality. And so are all the Ultra-Remainers in the last parliament. She doesn't understand the issues of Brexit, the democratic imperative to deliver it, as promised; or the huge anger of the working class for those patricians who who have sought to block it.

I'm predicting a Tory victory, with a majority of 60 seats. And, further, that all the Switcher/Defector MPs are going to be electorally anihillated.

The campaign reminds me a lot of the 1983 GE. This time, due to the extra political parties, Labour cannot suffer a landslide defeat. But, it will be a defeat. And Caroline Lucas is in cloud-cuckoo land.

varian Sun 10-Nov-19 18:15:49

There are obviously many different kinds of brexiter, from the no-deal extremists to the BJ dealers, TM dealers, Corbyn soft brexiters and many others who really have not got a clue what type of brexit they want because they are waiting for the Daily Mail to tell them, but there is no such thing as an "ultra remainer", just normal sensible well informed people who would prefer that our country remains in the EU.

Urmstongran Sun 10-Nov-19 18:50:39

I shall have to agree to disagree with you on that varian!

Urmstongran Sun 10-Nov-19 19:35:40

‘Remainers must vote tactically’

They may have to!

More than a million low-income voters who did not cast their ballot in the last election are planning to do so this time, in a sign they could play a crucial role in deciding the result.

varian Sun 10-Nov-19 19:52:31

These low income voters would be hurt most by brexit so we must hope they are not deceived into supporting the bre it or Tory parties. It would be tragic to see more self inflicted suffering. Let's hope they vote to stop brexit and ensure a better future.

SirChenjin Sun 10-Nov-19 20:54:05

varian you can read the full article here www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/politics/2019/nov/10/low-income-missing-million-voters-return-leave-swing-seats There’s a number of issues which are likely to influence their vote. Remember it’s also set against one country within the UK that I predict won’t be returning any Tory MPs and a whole new set of young voters who are more likely to vote to remain.

It’s impossible to call - although we all have our own hopes.

growstuff Mon 11-Nov-19 08:57:56

The million "new" low income voters appear (not surprisingly) to be more interested in other issues, such as housing, index linked benefits, childcare and decent training. They'd be bonkers if they think the Conservatives would deliver any of that.

varian Tue 12-Nov-19 19:41:36

Remaining in the EU would give Britain a £50 billion remain bonus. We might then be able to afford to invest in infrastructure and public services.

This needs to be spelled out to voters but neither Johnson nor Corbyn will do that. Jo Swinson should be included in the TV debates to express the views of the majority who want to remain in the EU.

Lots of information out there now if anyone is interested in using their vote intelligently if they are a remainer.

I am a remainer and the advise for my constituency is to vote for Peter Kyle. I will do that very happily as he is a marvellous constituent MP.
