I can’t ever remember a time when so much negativity, scandal and down right lies emanated from a political party.

Those who are not Tory supporters are absolutely spoiled for choice it is becoming embarrassing.

These threads could be heaving with negative information.

You mean Lewes WWM2 ( was wondering who poor old Lewis was.?)

They have burnt everyone at Lewes haven’t they???

It might have been kinder not to burn Bercow this year though, given he’s only retired. Mind you, he’s got a thick enough skin to not be too bothered, probably found it amusing.

I don’t mind if The Speaker is male or female, I just want them to do the job properly. I thought Betty Boothroyd was excellent. I also thought Bercow did the job well mostly, but he made no secret of his remain views, and that’s not impartial. The Speaker is supposed to be impartial.

John Wayne's parents didn't know that, then, ladymuck!

Betty Boothroyd?
I'm sure she kept them all in order.

Lewes is a very attractive little place but I'm not keen on their choice of entertainment - burning effigies of people is, in my book, a bit sick.

I know they have a tree as their logo but isn't it an oak tree?

Or a magic money tree?

thongs over here are known as an article of clothing that bears no resemblance to flip flops.??
Pamela; Please don't remind me! winkShortly after being allowed to enroll in GN 18 months ago I happened to mention (why, I don't recall) that a friend had tripped over his thongs in his back garden. That appeared to cause no end of merriment, then later a lady remarked that she had found a thong amongst sheets in her laundry basket. I thought, hang on, how can someone wear thongs in bed!? Must have been some party!grin The things I've learned through GN. hmm

If you haven’t the stomach for it, I would stay away from Lewis then
Whitewave I didn't have the stomach for his predecessor, Inspector Morse, either; complete snob, wandering around Oxford, swilling whiskey! that must be why I hate the stuff! confused
