The far left have finally succeeded in getting rid of Tom Watson .

(that was from GrannyGravy's screenshots.)

"hatchet faced hag"?!!!

Nice people on social media.

Urmstongran Thu 07-Nov-19 09:29:47

West Bromwich East Leave vote: 68.2% MP: Tom Watson (Labour) He voted to trigger Article 50....But ever since he has been voting to stop Brexit.

Next to resign before being sacked by the public in the General Election ?,

my money`s on the MP for Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford Leave vote: 70.0% MP: Yvette Cooper (Labour) She voted for Article 50, saying: "Nobody said at any time 'you know what, I am not going to respect the result afterwards - thats the kind of thing Donald Trump says."....But ever since she has been voting to stop Brexit too!

Anniebach Thu 07-Nov-19 09:25:24

You did say you were mistaken ? I must have missed that, thank you for clearing it up.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-Nov-19 09:23:03

Blimey annie you must have missed that then, or is it selective memory?

Anniebach Thu 07-Nov-19 09:21:10

Facts ?

That wall mural was anti semetic, you Whitewave strongly
denied it was because Corbyn had protested about it being
removed.

Then Corbyn said it was anti semetic, he hadn’t looked closely at it when he defended it.

You never said you too were mistaken

Urmstongran Thu 07-Nov-19 09:21:08

Tom Watson.
The Labour moderates will miss him.
However Nearly 70% of his constituents voted out and he went against them. He was toast at this election anyway!

Ian Austin on Sky News half an hour ago.
Seems very upset about the way Labour has become.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-Nov-19 09:13:47

As I’ve said lemon if the facts are fake, then call them out, giving the correct information that is the most sensible thing to do rather than continually accusing but n ever following up with what you consider the actually truth.

That is all I’m doing with regards to the Tories.

The trouble is that they are lying so much that it seems that it is dominating the discourse, but it is right that lies are called out.

Anniebach Thu 07-Nov-19 09:12:41

Vaz hasn’t been deselected by his local party, they don’t seem to have a problem with him.

kittylester Thu 07-Nov-19 09:11:56

I've just seen Ian Austin interviewed on BBC. He seemed quite distraught at the decision he had made.

petra Thu 07-Nov-19 09:10:58

Grannygravy
I can only assume that James Cleverly has a stunt double ?

suziewoozie Thu 07-Nov-19 09:07:27

kitty as I understand it, bring suspended from the House ( as KV is) does not automatically exclude you as a candidate, only suspension from the party does that.,

lemongrove Thu 07-Nov-19 09:06:01

WWM2 .....you saying that is ironic, given that you rush to believe fake facts when it suits you.

MawB Thu 07-Nov-19 09:02:47

Enlarged the tweet but still too fuzzy (might be me, of course) ? ?

MawB Thu 07-Nov-19 09:01:53

I think this is why I find it so ironic hat Tom Watson failed to check his facts before his very public and influential pronouncements hmm

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-Nov-19 09:01:33

Are you sure it is true gg13?

At the moment I distrust what the Tories say entirely and always try to verify it by another source.

The only other source I have is Sky.

kittylester Thu 07-Nov-19 09:01:13

It 'biggens' if I tap on it maw, does it for you?

lemongrove Thu 07-Nov-19 09:00:57

I managed to read it Maw ....just enlarge it.

lemongrove Thu 07-Nov-19 09:00:12

So much fake news spread on here ( and other forums no doubt) because few people take the time to check the facts.
This is one reason not to believe a thing ( presented as a ‘fact’)
On GN political threads on first reading.

MawB Thu 07-Nov-19 08:56:57

The tweet is illegible I am afraid GG13 - can you link to it instead?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:48:24

WWMK2 He has posted this.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:41:02

Are you sure gg13 only Burley seemed adamant that he was only a few feet away from her but refusing to be interviewed?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:36:55

I think there will many more "fake" items, like Kay Burley "empty chairing" James Cleverly on Sky News, whilst he was being interviewed by Julia Hartley Brewer on the radio at exactly the same time.

Grandad1943 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:26:04

It was Ian Austin a former aid to Gordon Brown that has stated "Labour supporters should lend the Conservatives their votes"

Austin has continuously criticised Jeremy Corbyn since he was elected leader of the Labour Party but on this occasion has descended to new depths.

It would seem that Tom Watson has said nothing in regard to labour voters in this election, so I feel some people should check out their facts before posting.

That's (at least) twice in 2 days that a post has appeared on GN which is completely wrong and has had to be corrected as soon as the mistake was pointed out.
Perhaps we need to double-check before knee-jerk posting.
Enthusiasm for spreading the word is admirable but perhaps we're becoming a tad impatient?
