Thanks Elegran . I began to think I was totally wrong in my understanding of Onan when everyone started talking about masturbation. He was indeed condemned for "spilling his seed " in a sexual relationship for his own specific reasons.

I haven't seen nastiness on this thread, but posts from those passionate about the subject, and I like a bit of passion, and humour too. Where politics is concerned people are bound to be partisan but I learn a lot from those more erudite than myself. Nastiness abounds on social media because it is anonymous, but I like GN because there's not much of it as a rule.

To some people "nastiness" is other folk posting something they disagree with.

We certainly had a lot of that type of nastiness from leavers on the run up to the fraudulent referendum on 2016.
