Well anyone who thinks it’s appropriate to use that phrase is a wanker

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:09:50

No the phrase got deleted

Shame. Suppose it would have lost votes amongst the small-minded though.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:10:46

Blimey Riverwalk, you're going back a few years!

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:12:07

I'm saying no more Growstuff. You'll have to work it out for yourself. (NO pun intended)

Meaning wasn't what you suggest though.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 11:13:45

but always come back

Takes skill that does. And opportunity.

newnanny Thu 14-Nov-19 12:10:06

He did not use phrase in speech. He dropped it but don't let the facts get in the way of the gossip.

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 12:14:37

Thank you for that link. I'm very bad at keeping up with things.

ladymuck Thu 14-Nov-19 12:14:49

Yes, it's true that the Prime Minister (all MPs actually) should conduct himself with more dignity, but it matches his general persona...scruffy, self-negligent, and he doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks of him.
Running the country properly is what matters and he is the best that's on offer at the moment.

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 12:40:37

I disagree with you ladymuck. I think he's very careful to portray a certain image because it detracts from what he really is, which is a totally untrustworthy individual. I certainly don't think he's the best on offer for the job.

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 12:48:16

newnanny I’d already posted that information so no facts were getting in the way of the story. However you not reading TFT certainly gets in the way of your posts being upto date

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 12:49:44

What growstuff said x a million

Yehbutnobut Thu 14-Nov-19 15:26:29

Indeed Newnanny and the facts are he didn’t drop it he was advised to drop it.

Yehbutnobut Thu 14-Nov-19 15:27:35

...and it ought not to have been there in the first place.

lemongrove Thu 14-Nov-19 15:38:20

All this fuss......for a phrase that wasn’t even used in a speech,
You would think there aren’t enough subjects to talk about regarding politics....

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 15:41:46

We are talking about plenty of other things and this - you really can’t take any criticism of BJ can you lemon ?

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 15:42:05

So why do you think it was leaked lemongrove?

I'm afraid I have expectations of higher and more professional standards from my PM.

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 15:43:19

And imagine if JC had planned to use a phrase about BJ related to masturbation? ?

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 15:46:32

I suppose BJ’s acolytes have lowered the standards against which they judge him by so much, that they accept just about anything. He could appear on live TV disembowelling and eating a baby and it would be accepted as a form of population control ( or that it was a very very bad baby).

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 15:46:58

Johnson a masturbator? Humbug!

A big girl's blouse wouldn't ever have said anything like that anyway.

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 15:47:19

Or of course that it was all JC’s fault

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 15:49:20

Or the child of a single parent or the third child and not eligible for Universal Credit or (heaven forfend) the child of one of those pesky furriners. Get a grip suzie! He'd have been doing us all a favour.

lemongrove Thu 14-Nov-19 15:49:24

That’s funny suziew considering that when he was elected I said I was disappointed with the choice, and he has so many flaws I am still amazed that he was chosen.
However....using a phrase, or rather thinking of using a phrase ‘political onanism’ certainly doesn’t make me clutch my pearls and shake in horror.
growstuff...almost everything is leaked nowadays, so who knows who or why it was done.

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 15:50:39

I'm glad I have to go out now because my brain is being scrambled with ways Corbyn could incite Johnson to masturbate. confused

SparklyGrandma Thu 14-Nov-19 15:50:48

There’s no need to use rude words in politics if you’ve a brain and can structure a rational argument.

Saying that, Boris likes tossing pancakes. No cleverness there.

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 15:53:34

It's not about clutching pearls in horror. It's about using childish name-calling and hiding behind the use of a slightly obscure word to give the impression he's well educated. It's not the first time he's used language which would be more appropriate in a playground. He's the PM, for goodness sake!

growstuff Thu 14-Nov-19 15:54:08

Exactly, SparklyGrandma.
