Is it because caring about fairness, equality and everyone having a decent life is inherently so evil and twisted that no-one who believes in it should be anywhere near government?

Sadly i thught Boris didnt do well last night, he becomes like a robot repeating the same answer for most questions, Brexit brexit brexit, or talking about when he was mayor of London. I am slowly but surely losing faith in him. JC i thought gave clear and consise answers to everything he was asked, even if it wasn't what you wanted the answer to be. Cant really remember much about the two ladies . Really dont know which way to vote in Dec!!!!!

The news programmes are pushing Jeremy Corbyn's neutrality as a negative. I just don't think they get that people consider themselves intelligent enough to make a decision. I'm not surprised the Tories commented that the audience was too knowledgeable. The have being trying to take us for fools for so long. I'm glad he is prepared to stop the on, and on, and on of politicians fighting for their own opinions.

travslsofar you say you don't like Boris Johnson, so perhaps you should vote to get rid of him. How about looking at the tactical voting advice for your constituency?

I actually quite enjoyed that debate the audience members were very lively & not at all the usual thing you would expect from QT. The audience won!

I caught this half way through and thought it was coming from Scotland!

I thought the person who performed best was Fiona Bruce.

I will vote Labour because it happens to be the only party that might be able to oust the sitting Tory in our constituency.

Same here- done it as I go the postal vote papers this morning.
If you had told me a few weeks ago I'd vote Labour, I would not have believed you. It may well cost many of my relatives and ourselves, in money terms - but at the end of the day, you have to do what is morally right. No regrets.

Sadly its impossible to view the person concerned spouting her usual nonsense while simultaneously being aware of how bad things actually are here. Time to take focus off breaking away from UK, Scotland biggest market, and refocus on getting hospitals out of special measures or even open etc etc. I could go on but Scottish readers know what's really going on.

Jane don’t be so disingenuous. What you posted was a nasty personal comment related to her appearance - you weren't just pointing out what was trending. You’re entitled to comment and others are entitled to say if what is posted is a nasty sexist comment. It completely weakens the credibility of someone’s opinion if comments like that are made about people’s experiences. Methinks NS’s competence rattles her detractors.

What makes you think that Russia is Red any more, Amagran?

At the start of the 2017 election campaign Labour was trailing by 26.5% of the vote.At the end of the election the margin was reduced to 9.5%. One reason given for this was that once the candidates were given equal air time voters could watch/listen to JC rather than read the nonsense in the right wing press.

Labour are having a much harder time in trying to refute the lies that have been told than the Tories - who just don't bother.

Jane10 I was interested to read that hospitals in Scotland are in special measures under an SNP government.
Here in Wales under a Labour administration, things are far worse than in England as far as we can tell.
English NHS has been criticised for exceeding the 4 hour waiting times for A&E - but not by much.
Here in Wales the waiting times are far worse - waiting from one day to the next for an ambulance, waiting in the ambulance for hours to be let into A&E then left in agony for 8 hours without attention or pain relief.
Eventual diagnosis: several broken bones.

Ultimately it is the delivery (or not) of Brexit that people will vote for. I don't think a poor TV performance by a party leader will affect the outcome. A party leader can change, manifestos might not be delivered, promises can be ignored. But Brexit is decided by the party who wins.

Well, jura the father of the last Labour Leader of the Welsh Assembly had a hip operation done privately because the waiting times in NHS Wales were and are far worse than those in England so you could be right.

Although it could be argued that that is one person less on the waiting list.

So do you think that the Labour run Assembly in Wales doesn't care about the NHS?
Some services are excellent, but other areas are failing completely.

We don't have PFIs here, or academies, so I don't think that theory can be correct.

Callistemon- yes I too know people who have had operations privately, and who send their kids to private schools. Not because they believe in privatisation, but out of desperation. A huge difference I'd say, between those who say 'I am sorry, but things are so bad now, I have to do what is best for my loved ones- but I will fight with all my might to ensure all get great health care and education' ... I see NO contradiction there at all. Sadly, in my personal experience, once people have crossed the barrier - they just dont care anymore. And that is all part of the privatisation technique - and very calculated.

The 'one person of the waiting list' just does NOT work. As the Cconsultants often work for both, and the nurses often do too. The care of a private patient takes at least 4 times more time, than that of an NHS patient. And often NHS facilities are used for private care- and when things go wrong- the NHS always picks up where private left off- often at huge cost.
