These are some of the subjects we can expect to be brought up

Wolfie.
I await Mr Neil's interview with Johnson with interest.

1. Jennifer Arcuri
2. Russian interference report suppression
3. Rampant Tory Islamaphobia
4. Johnson a serial liar
5. Johnson a homophobic
6. Tory austerity deaths
7. Tory dirty election stunts

And much, much more.

Mainly selling insurance to young healthy people who don't need medical care overall.

As this thread seems to have been dominated by stories about NHS privatisation and the 2012 Health & Social Care Act.
I thought this made an interesting read yesterday - www.theguardian.com/society/2019/nov/29/revealed-nhs-plans-to-ration-34-unnecessary-tests-and-treatments?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other&fbclid=IwAR2zPZAubm5V0uAJ2SDV17tl7UIhQuFaHwfSIHcc6SGvb-tdwTyMmRSUuVA

Of course the fragmentation of the local NHS services - replacing PCTs with CCGs (although they have the same staff in many cases), seems to be following the pattern of rail privatisation.

Look how good that has been.

Please sign the petition going round, asking for the Neil show to go ahead with cardboard effigy of Johnson.

"I will be perfectly happy to be interviewed by anyone called Andrew on the BBC"

Enough- as he continues to agree to a date and time- and he was given the choice of anytime, any day, anywhere - it is paramount that Andrew Neil sets the time and date himself- and empty chair him if he does not turn up. Appalling and disgusting, and so unfair on other candidates ...

Of course, we all know why. Andrew Neil is a Tory through and through- and no fool - and he would destroy Johnson.

Just as he did a few months ago but 1000x more so:

How Andrew Neil’s interviews became more important than the TV Debates

www.newstatesman.com/politics/elections/2019/12/how-andrew-neil-s-interviews-became-more-important-tv-debates

Tonight we can see lifelong extreme Tory commentator Andrew Neil interrogate Jo Swinson.

Good for Jo to have the balls to do it.

I expect he will give her a hard time. She knows that, yet she still has the courage of her convictions to defend her party's policies strongly.

When will Andrew Neil be allowed to subject his fellow Tory Boris Johnson to any kind of questioning????

ayse Wed 04-Dec-19 18:25:13

I reckon ha is trying to keep a low profile so he can’t put his foot in it again!

varian Wed 04-Dec-19 18:34:10

In other words he is a coward

jura2 Wed 04-Dec-19 19:36:51

that is putting it VERY mildly- I'd say he knows he has no answers and is just incapable.

Empty chair him, before the end of the week.

One party leader who was not afraid of Andrew Neil and gave brilliant performance was Jo Swinson. ( but don't expect a fair rsvue in the Mail, Express, Sun or Toelegraph).

Just watch and judge for yourself.

Bungling Boris is just a Bafoon.

MamaCaz Thu 05-Dec-19 09:35:52

Rather than empty-chairing Boris, I would like them to put a life-size Boris balloon in the chair, one designed to slowly deflate during the interview grin

jura2 Thu 05-Dec-19 09:37:36

now now MamaCaz ;) ahahahahaha

(YES)

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Dec-19 10:02:39

It's a clever idea though. I have a feeling if the Bafoon gets in it's our lives that will be deflating though.

MamaCaz Thu 05-Dec-19 10:13:52

I agree, GG.

I am not convinced that Boris will stay in power for long, though, even if he gets a majority.
My feeling is that if and when he gets Brexit 'done', his own party will be pretty quick to ditch him, and when, as is almost certain, the economic impact of Brexit starts to affect ordinary people, that majority be gone like a puff of smoke.

Unfortunately, the damage will have been done, and goodness knows where things will go from there! I foresee a great deal of unrest.

jura2 Thu 05-Dec-19 20:03:36

Absolutely damning statement tonight by Andrew Neil- re being the first ever Leader of a Party refusing to be interviewed by him. Good for him- and really needs to empty chair him before the week-end if he continues to refuse. Mind you, Neil has stated the questions he wanted to ask- so Johnson would have a huge advantage compared to the other Leaders, who could only guess. But even then.

Ilovecheese Thu 05-Dec-19 20:08:07

Now Boris Johnson won't even give an interview with Julie Etchingham!

Curlywhirly Thu 05-Dec-19 21:31:58

Oh dear, Andrew Neil certainly didn't do Boris and favours with his closing statement tonight did he? How embarassing for the Tories. You really couldn't make it up, could you!

Curlywhirly Thu 05-Dec-19 21:47:07

Sorry, should say any favours

Ginny42 Thu 05-Dec-19 21:55:34

Well BJ knows the questions now! The Tories have backed a loser. They wanted a showman, a bit of character who would enchant the electorate, but they elected a Jack-the-Lad, who's an abject failure as per Andrew Neil's closing statement this evening.

The Tory faithful have been had. He's a bluffer. Where's the sharp intellect he was purported to have? Minders know he's outwitted and he's being kept under wraps. We await his response. He could always send Stanley as in 'another fine mess'.

Well done the other leaders who simply got on with it.

Callistemon Thu 05-Dec-19 22:14:29

grin

Andrew Neil has gone from zero to hero in the space of a short thread!

grin

growstuff Thu 05-Dec-19 22:52:41

Neil Has certainly gone up in my estimation. shock He doesn't need to empty chair Johnson, who must really have pi**ed him off.

Hetty58 Thu 05-Dec-19 23:10:54

I'll be very surprised if Boris accepts Neil's invitation (even with the questions known beforehand) as he's a coward:

Well done Andrew Neil for laying down the gauntlet. It is outrageous that he can pick and choose what interview he can do. This could be a game changer all at BJ feet. The British public should not stand for it and vote accordingly on Thursday especially in his constituency.
