Boris won't apologise. Will he be slated I wonder? Doubtful.

Some on here even believe that Corbyn is a liar? I wonder what newspaper they read? Guaranteed a billionaire owns it.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 15:31:17

jura2 I can say the same for you on the subject of Brexit
[although varian takes first place for that.]

graykat Sun 01-Dec-19 15:22:37

I am just amazed at how gullible some people are. But when you reflect that the large majority of the press and media is in the hands of the ultra right, I suppose it's inevitable. They have been banging the anti-EU drum for forty years. And now they have Russian and US billionaires behind them, drooling at the thought of the trillions they'll make when workers'rights are decimated and all regulations are scrapped. I would have hoped, though, that just one glance at the supporters of Leave might have triggered some suspicion in the minds of the normally sensible Brits. Would you trust Nigel Farage over Caroline Lucas? Johnson over Keir Starmer? I don't mention Corbyn because the press of Murdoch and Harmsworth have rubbished his reputation for too long.

jura2 Sun 01-Dec-19 14:27:27

well, I'll give it to you lemon- you never give up- even when it maybe better, for all concerned ...

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 14:16:08

The Labour heartlands in the North are very much thinking the same as me on Corbyn.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 14:15:01

Your personal insults mean nothing to me WWM2 it just shows you have nothing worthwhile to say on the matter.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 14:13:49

.....you mean not often found out WWM2 as Corbyn answers in a woolly vague way when asked about something he would rather not answer as in ‘ I may or may not have been there, I can’t remember’ etc.
In any case, the thought of him being PM is just too awful.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 01-Dec-19 13:52:09

Well it seems to me that someone whose moral compass Is firmly in tact will understand the difference between a proven liar and someone who has never been shown to lie.

jura2 Sun 01-Dec-19 13:50:23

The UK will be a lot less safe once the French, and the EU, will stop protecting our borders from across the water- and we are no longer part of the EU terrorist and other intelligence network- that is 100% sure.

As for being 'economical with the truth' - well Johnson is way beyond that, out and out massive lie, after lie, after lie. And you still trust him - and many of us cannot fathom why.

Are you naïve in the extreme, or ??? I don't know.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 13:44:44

All politicians tell lies or are ‘economical with the truth’ as they say.
I have to vote for a PM that will do his best to keep the UK safe.
I don’t trust Corbyn on that one inch.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 13:42:37

Am not at all sure that nice Grandpa Corbyn is not a liar....he denies links with all sorts of people that are later proved to be true and just the other day was trying to convince voters that a vote for Johnson would mean them paying for their own cancer treatment and that he had proof ( no he hasn’t) that it would happen.

graykat Sun 01-Dec-19 13:34:37

So a liar is best for the UK, lemongrove?

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 13:14:35

gaga there are socialists and then there’s Corbyn!
I think the man would be a menace to our country, in so many ways.
Am hoping the LP will become moderate in the years to come.If Corbyn is defeated there is a lesson to learn for the LP membership.
Money does not come into it ( for me) I decide on what I think is the best for the UK, and only that.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 01-Dec-19 12:55:06

Have you mislaid your moral compass lemon?

GagaJo Sun 01-Dec-19 12:45:53

lemongrove, so you'd rather a racist, sexist, homophobe than a socialist? I'm assuming YOU will be personally better off under a Tory government because there is no other reason for you to favour the Tories, the enemies of the elderly.

lemongrove Sun 01-Dec-19 12:38:51

I don’t know why anyone should worry if Johnson decides to not appear with Andrew Neill, as Andrew Marr was on the attack constantly, so much so that he wouldn’t wait for an answer even when one was started to be given.
Johnson did much better than anticipated, didn’t show ( unlike Corbyn) if he was rattled or constantly put his hands out and say ‘let me finish’ like Corbyn does ( did anyone see the funny clip of that on HIGNFY this week.?)
He can do serious when he needs to, and I wish he would do so more often.
Most people would not have chosen Johnson from the candidates put forward for PM but with the choice of him or
The ghastly Corbyn, in this GE there is no choice, it has to be Johnson all the way.
We shall see very soon what the majority in the UK thinks.

Greeneyedgirl Sun 01-Dec-19 12:31:43

Prepare for lodgers if the Tories win the election jura2 grin

GagaJo Sun 01-Dec-19 12:18:06

Ooooeeerrrr jura2. I'm not an outdoorsy girl. Hope your spa is LOVELY tho. I'd like a recommendation!

To be honest, I'm glad I'm getting away from the UK political furore. And no better place than somewhere impartial!

graykat Sun 01-Dec-19 12:11:57

I feel utterly ashamed that my country should have this man as its Prime minister. He is shameless with his lies, never seriously engages, can only bleat the electioneering soundbites programmed into him, doesn't have the decency or courage to debate properly and is ready to sell this country down the river. Nothing but bluster, bigotry and bullying. No one with a shred of decency should vote for this grotesque charade of a man.

jura2 Sun 01-Dec-19 12:08:39

Yep spot on Gaga..

(thinking of you, at spa resort in next valley to your next destination- snowing like crazy smile white out )

GagaJo Sun 01-Dec-19 12:06:46

Exactly Greeneyedgirl. If JC can face it, BJ should too. BUT the Tories KNOW he's an liability and Cummings won't let him because of that.

Greeneyedgirl Sun 01-Dec-19 12:00:53

After seeing Marr's interview with BJ this am I can see why he's reluctant to face Andrew Neil. Neil'd annihilate him. Constant interruptions eazybee?? Marr couldn't get an answer to any question which he managed to squeeze in, between the usual BJ style ramblings, deflecting any attempt to pin him down on Tory accountability or policy and repeating the rehearsed mantras, attempting to get Corbyn's name into the mix as often as possible.

Also repeating the same figures about hospitals and staff which were disproved days ago.

GagaJo Sun 01-Dec-19 12:00:24

BJ out celebrating an anti-semite today. Will it make the media? Will it hell.

Nightsky2 Sun 01-Dec-19 11:59:16

The Marr interview of Boris Johnson was a total car crash. . Marr asked the questions but wasn’t interested in the answers. I don’t think he allowed Boris Johnson to answer one question. Why have him on your show if you’re not prepared to listen!. He may not like Boris Johnson but he is our Prime Minster and should be shown respect.

It’s time the BBC licence was scrapped as most of us who pay would agree that this is not what we want to watch. It was an extremely unpleasant interview and I frankly I couldn’t believe what I was watching this morning. Did anyone else see how angry he was at the close of the show, he was visibly shaking.

Nortsat46 Sun 01-Dec-19 11:50:23

Whitewavemark2 - good question ‘where has all the money gone?
