Do the polls influence how you vote?

I've seen a few people say they will vote Conservative because they are ahead in the polls.

Do you base your vote on being on the "winning" team?

Do you vote by policy?

Do you stick to a political party like this is football and support your team no matter how badly they play?

Do you think you shouldn't bother voting because the polls say your party won't win? (you should anyway)

Do the polls impact you?

But people get their information from somewhere, it just doesn’t come from nowhere, so whether it’s the papers, tv, radio or Facebook or the neighbours it’s bound to influence some people. You do hear people parroting phrases which they’ve read or heard on TV, so to pretend no one is influenced by propaganda is ridiculous. Why would they all spend so much money on leaflets, ads etc?

Nope. I make up my own mind. I doubt whether it will happen but I hope Labour win.

But that is the point about gullibility - someone who is gullible doesn’t realise they have been duped! Of course these are often very kind people who like to believe the best of people.

There is a saying that it is much much easier to fool people than it is to get them to admit that they've been fooled.

Then, by your own admission Crystal voters from all sides are influenced by propaganda. Those who fall for Labour and Lib Dem propaganda machines, as well as Conservatives.
Maybe you don’t realise that you have been duped Yeahbut

Some propaganda machines are much better funded than others.

Varian Some propaganda machines are much better funded than others . Then it is up to your party to recruit more members, and not only collect their membership fees but also spend time between elections constantly fundraising. That is how the SNP raise the vast majority of their funds via the members and Branches, with little or nothing from corporate donors.

There is more to propaganda than money.

Was it not true that the 2014 separatist campaign was bankrolled by a couple who won £156 million in the Eurolottery?

M0nica Sun 15-Dec-19 15:06:15

True, but they didn't win.
