No trisher you are not expected to keep quiet but there ways in which people can express their discontent without the need for chanting hate.
I agree notanan.
Has anyone else done anything as daft as this?
You won.
Now own it.
Get Brexit done by January 31st, get us a great deal, or no deal and great new trade alliances that positively impact our economy.
Get us our new nurses, our new police, our 40 new hospitals. Ensure the NHS is not sold off.
You won, you own it.
I expect you to see this through. Write to your MP, go protest every time your elected government doesn't fulfill a promise. Sign petitions. Prove to me you wanted what is best for our country. Prove to the government you expect what is best for this country.
Don't just vote for it, fight for it.
The Labour voters will.
No trisher you are not expected to keep quiet but there ways in which people can express their discontent without the need for chanting hate.
I agree notanan.
Momentum haven't made me hate anyone I have always despised Toriies because I know the hisory of working people the oppresion they suffered and the opposition the Tories have always made to any improvement in their circumstances or rights.
Well I don't entirely agree with that trisher but of course you're entitled to your point of view as we all are.
M0nica, if you ask me it is very ignorant, even enabling to compare "I hate the tories" to racism. You do truly understand the suffering of generations right?
Why are people so determined to demonise Labour voters? Do you feel you need to somehow justify your recent decisions?
Let's go back to how we can really ensure the country gets what has been voted for.
I think the suggestion that football fans who come from all walks of life in their hundreds of thousands might turn racist because they hate Boris Johnson absolutely ridiculous.
And I hate football. Almost as boring as cricket.
Good idea Starblaze return to the argument. Also Grany talked about police officers and nurses. I see it taking a good 10 years to get the doctors and nurses we need by the time THEY HAVE BEEN TRAINED in the UK. Get the kids to see that it’s not all about immediate success but hard work to train for the above too much watching rubbish on their Social media sites and thinking by wobbling your backside on tele gets you good money! Get the kids to volunteer, make it compulsory like they have in France and other EU countries so they have some respect for the elderly instead of being degrading about them. Yes, get the young middle class (actually working class) off their backsides. DONT KEEP PINCHING TALENT from abroad.
No one is demonising Labour voters. Who has said that all those chanting 'we hate the tories' at a football match were labour supporters?
I certainly don't feel the need to justify the way I voted in the GE and neither should anyone else. I'm glad that I don't feel the need to justify supporting intolerance, ignorance and division either.
As has been said, it's a slippery slope when chanting hate ever becomes acceptable.
As for demonising Labour voters, what about demonising tory supporters with the constant rhetoric that we are all wealthy and selfish and don't care about the NHS because we can all afford private health care?
I think it is perfectly possible to express differing political views without expressing hatred.
There have been hateful and, in my view, highly inappropriate memes and what have you on various social media, about Tories, about Labourites, about "Leavers", about "Remainers" ...and many more .
Interestingly on all political sides and Brexit groups, it is women who have received the most "hate" communications; chants at women MPs have been the most vitriolic!! (read this in a report on the rise of "hate politics" but can't find link; apologies.) Labour has been vilified for anti semitism and their responses haven't covered them in glory! Tories have been vilified for anti Islamic incidents and haven't covered themselves in glory either! Both parties promised the world and the "end of austerity"!
None of the above suggests that yelling obnoxious stuff in the name of "hatred" actually does anything constructive for anyone!
I also think that the only a acceptable football chants are about football teams, not individuals.
Yes what happened to those Madgran there used to be some good ones.
Honestly, I've got a vision of ladies running around grasping their petticoats declaring "uncouth" and fainting into the begonias.
I've got a vision of an increase in hatred and division because it's believed by some to be a democratic right to say whatever you like, whenever you like regardless of the harm it can do to others.
Let's face it Smileless, your not helping on the division front *rolls eyes
Later ladies, better things to do
There's nothing divisive about my posts Starblaze I think the problem is that you are unable to accept a different point of view without regarding it as demonising.
Is anyone putting their children/grandchildren forward as in my previous to become Police officer, nurses, doctors etc? Anyone of their kids willing to volunteer as PO’s etc?
Get back on the subject not spouting bile please to each other.
Not in a position to do so Coolio but do agree with your previous post.
The problem is that when you build a society that considers everything has a price and nothing is valuable without a price ticket you are unlikely to get young people who believe in public service in any way. It amazes me that there are so many caring youngsters out there.
My DIL is a doctor, my DS works for the NHS in training.
You cant post about Cons/non labour voters then claim to be picked on when they defend themselves!
I mean if you dont want the unpleasant tribalism around labour broughg up, don't bring it up!
Trisher, I agree with your sentiment. What happened to society that respected those above trades as well as Teachers. We cannot expect to import from other nations.
It’s time to drill respect into younger society. I do see some caring youngsters but I am afraid there are not nearly enough.
I believe from talking to some Dutch yesterday that their 16-18 year olds work in elderly people’s homes under a compulsory scheme. I thought it would be such a good idea in the UK. 16-18 year olds compulsory working in the public sector.
This is my prime minister, my government. Of course I can hold them to account and expect others to do the same. Isn't everyone tired of broken promises? I don't think I am being particularly picked on? One person here annoys me as they don't like me, follow me to all my posts to wind me up and then cry they are being picked onwhich is just silly.
I've always worked in care, my eldest has volunteered with me in the past. He still isn't sure what he wants to do, when he finishes uni. My second eldest has also volunteered with me, wants to be an art teacher.
Really do have to go now, secret santa and mulled wine with my lovely colleagues
No thanks I do not want anyone caring for me who doesnt want to be there!
You can't "drill" respect into anyone, you have to earn it!
Everyone starts out respecting others. Children are naturally good.
People's respect is lost through patterns of negative experiences.
You can't just demand respect to be re-instated. It has to be earnt with bridges built.
