Roses or Quality Street?

Neither, my calories have to be quality.

Not keen on either of these since they did away with my favourite coffee cream! No one else liked them so they were all mine! ?

I like a lot of QS and Roses!
Not the coffee or toffee ones, though.

So many boxes of more 'quality' chocs nowadays contain white chocolate, so I never buy them. To me, white chocolate is the work of the ?.

Dh invariably buys me a box of Black Magic, which I still enjoy.

Daddima bread and butter pudding is the ONLY way I'll eat Panettone.

But this year I've been given a 750kg one!! And the season is still young! It would take 3 puddings to use that up!!

Its not even worth putting in the food bank box because I think you should only give things that people will want or need or enjoy.

WHY DO PEOPLE BUY THEM??

To be honest, neither, I have completely lost my sweet tooth, I would prefer to eat a piece of cheese or a ham sandwich.

I've gone off chocolate, too. It doesn't give the same indulgent thrill any more.

I can't eat dark chocolate anyway. I don't like the taste and it doesn't agree with me.

I used to love all the Roses and Quality street. Especially the toffee and strawberry cream ones.

I went off these years ago but the family prefer Quality Street to Roses. I've bought one of each. I also have some Green & Blacks and Divine chocolate for better quality and I will eat the dark ones.

If you hate plastic Quality street in the purple tin is five pounds from Tescos,same price as plastic tubs.
Tin is easier to recycle than plastic

Oh, Quality Street, definitely. However, I think it has more to do with nostalgia than taste; during my childhood we always had a box at Christmas, looked forward to it all year!

DH says Quality Street. Why? Roses are too chocolatey!!

If you mean Pannetone notanan2,I agree with another poster. Makes delicious bread and butter pudding.

For those who want Quality Street but only the ones they like you can visit John Lewis in Oxford Street. They have an area solely devoted to QS with large tubes containing the different flavours. You buy a tin and choose what you want although you do have to have at least three flavours. If you really want to push the boat out you can buy a tin with your name stamped on it. I think we have bought at least 7 over the two years they have been doing it. They let you sample them as well. You can recycle the tin the following year and fill it for a reduced price. A nice personal gift for someone who loves QS. My favourite is definitely the toffee finger.

The take over of chocolate brands by Hershey is a really good example of what is to come about a lot of other products...

Well I’m a chocoholic so I like all choc unfortunately, love the new quality street Maltesser truffles n the purple ones.

Neither. Both are horribly greasy and waxy; full of palm oil and bare no resemblance to the original products before Kraft took them over. Cheap chocolate at its worst.

If I'm going to eat chocolate, I want something that at least tastes like chocolate and hasn't been made with ingredients that are contributing to destroying the planet.

I bought a half price cardboard pack yesterday of QS just for old times sake as it was a huge treat when I was a child to have a tin at Christmas . I only like The Purple One and will raid the pack when it is opened
I was tempted to buy a tin of just Purple Ones but thought better of it .....so far .

Not sure really. I have an affection for Quality Street, because my very beloved granny always bought them. But we don't usually buy big tins of sweets at Christmas, despite being fattys.

I can't BEAR Thorntons chocolates. They all just taste sweet.

I'd really prefer something salty to sweets. But not great for my blood pressure.

I don't like either of them, overly sweet and synthetic. I used to like the coffee creams years ago, my friends saved them for me as no one else liked them.
