And why do you assume we don't do that anyway Goldenage

Anniebach Sun 22-Dec-19 08:58:04

So sympathy is measured by a persons wealth

EllanVannin Sun 22-Dec-19 09:11:50

Money or not, nobody can " mend " a sick old body. Whoever it is who's suffering isn't a nice prospect and we all must know that when feeling ill the last thing we think about is money ! Well I do anyway as my thoughts are on getting better and having a decent quality of life in later years.

Personally, I could never complain about the treatment I get-----which actually makes me feel as though I'm someone special anyway, so where does money come in to it when you have a service like that ?

Anniebach Sun 22-Dec-19 09:17:48

Seems all we need to do to solve the problems in the NHS, give a house to every homeless person, is become a republic

EllanVannin Sun 22-Dec-19 09:32:44

Apparently the Duke has had a stent procedure so must have struggled beforehand. Could have been a heart attack he'd had. Quite a number of patients have this procedure each year though obviously not in his age bracket and those who have one or two stents are discharged pretty quickly and do well.

3 neighbours near me had the procedures done, one is back at work and returned back pretty quickly .The other two who are retired still continue with their normal lives. All 3 had suffered heart attacks, albeit not majorly.

inkcog Sun 22-Dec-19 09:41:24

I think somebody mentioned the phrase " middle ground". No that is long gone. You are either a goody or a baddy.

Baddies are jealous haters who want a republic.

Goodies love all their fellow humans equally.

Don't know what they old duffer is like behind closed doors but I can vouch that he doesn't like fuss. All the soldiers on our base had to hide in bushes etc when he visited in the late 1970's. He didn't want that level of security but it had to be given so the soldiers had to hide.

His chauffeur was a snooty so and so but he (PP) seemed down to earth.

Anniebach Sun 22-Dec-19 11:11:38

I would like GoldenAge to post a link for the public records of the ‘mistress for decades ‘, perhaps from tabloids !

gillybob Sun 22-Dec-19 11:25:06

PP is in my opinion a very fortunate old man to have first class private medical treatment available to him and his family at the click of a finger . No waiting lists for them and the very best of care 24/7 .
I don’t begrudge them it at all but they really are very lucky indeed.

Anniebach Sun 22-Dec-19 11:35:25

I agree gilly anyone who can afford private health care is very lucky.

I think those who own their own homes are very lucky they
don’t have to live in council sheltered accommodation and
there must be many homeless who think I am very lucky that
I have council sheltered accommodation.

inkcog Sun 22-Dec-19 11:38:44

House? You were lucky to have a HOUSE! We used to live in one room, all hundred and twenty-six of us, no furniture. Half the floor was missing; we were all huddled together in one corner for fear of FALLING!

Jabberwok Sun 22-Dec-19 11:42:06

Yes, I'm intrigued by that statement Annie! I think in the early days there were hints of wild parties and Rita Hayworth! but since then, no hint of impropriety either here, or in the foreign press where it certainly would have been!! Perhaps HM has had a secret liaison all these years?!! There's a thought, be it all rather unlikely
Prince Phillip WAS before his marriage, a Prince of Greece and Denmark , his origins are German. He gave up his birth title and became a British citizen in 1947, and a Prince of the United Kingdom in 1957. So apart from being rather offensive, calling him Phil the Greek is also inaccurate, as I guess is the long term mistress !

trisher Sun 22-Dec-19 11:51:29

Or the people his age and younger waiting in hospital beds unable to go home because a care package can't be arranged for them, because there aren't enough carers. Some of them will have to sell their house to pay for care. I don't suppose the RF will be selling anything!!!

Interesting article!

Anniebach Sun 22-Dec-19 11:57:27

Yes Jabberwok and Prince Edward was gay. Andrew is the son of the queens racing manager. The queen mother conceived with the aid of a turkey baster,

All in public records available to some but not all the public.

SirChenjin Sun 22-Dec-19 12:04:23

I know someone who was in the same year at Gordonstoun as PE and the rumours were certainly true back then. It might have just been a phase though...

You lived in a room inkcog??? There were 130 of us and we lived in a cave. We foraged for walnuts and dandelion leaves and we washed our clothes in the river (by clothes I mean animal skins and woven grasses). Honestly, you have no idea how lucky you were angry

Callistemon Sun 22-Dec-19 12:09:53

annep I still maintain that the Plantagenets should be on the throne!
There is no such thing as a 13 month pregnancy.
tchgrin

Callistemon Sun 22-Dec-19 12:11:17

SirChenjin I would have given up my pet wolf for a cave to shelter me from the blizzards.

Anniebach Sun 22-Dec-19 12:13:21

How can rumours be true ?

Jabberwok Sun 22-Dec-19 12:15:38

Who had a 13 month pregnancy?!

SirChenjin Sun 22-Dec-19 12:24:35

How can a rumour be true? Isn’t that obvious?!

Ok - how about, the rumours that were flying about at that time and beyond were not merely rumours. As I said though, a lot of teens experiment so perhaps it was just a phase that’s haunted him ever since - which seems like a very plausible explanation for the rumours to me.

SirChenjin Sun 22-Dec-19 12:26:16

Callistemon you had a pet?? Wr couldn’t afford pets, we had to eat them just to stay alive

inkcog Sun 22-Dec-19 12:32:31

think tha'sel lucky lad, we ad nowt. We so poor we licked the coal and ate the fluff from't mill.

Jabberwok Sun 22-Dec-19 12:34:33

FGS, who cares if P.E was or is gay?! Lots of people are! Surely you're not prejudice?!! If he is/was, that's his business and that of his immediate family and certainly nothing to judge him by, or actually to do with anyone else!

SirChenjin Sun 22-Dec-19 12:41:04

I couldn’t give two hoots about PE and his sexual preferences - I was merely responding to an earlier post so enough with your ‘prejudice’.
