Like him or loathe him, Donald Trump has always vowed to put America first.

The only thing that Donald Trump put first is himself and his money. He is a narcissistic, misogynistic, morally bankrupt imbecile that embarrasses the US every day.

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 15:01:10

Like him or loathe him, Donald Trump has always vowed to put America first and his idiot supporters think he meant it. It’s just like Boris’s ‘Get Brexit Done’ a dumbed down soundbite for the dumb voter.

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 15:29:55

Ah, the first mention of Brexit on this thread? ( but not the last, no doubt.)

The military advisors around the POTUS must have their reasons for doing what they have now but haven’t so far chosen to say.Was it just the best chance in ages to get rid of him and his entourage without killing anyone else?Presumably these scenarios don’t come along very often.
That, and the fact that Iran has been muscle flexing for a while, also ( on the nuclear front) been disregarding what they promised to do in 2015.

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 15:34:06

Typical

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 15:39:04

Is it yeahbut? Well, do say what you think is the reason DT was advised to do this now for?
Up to now, he has had no truck with the US getting involved in foreign wars.Everyone is saying ‘why now’ for this assassination, there has to be a reason.

MerylStreep Mon 06-Jan-20 15:39:58

Lemongrove
Exactly. His killing wasn't just about the what he had done, but more about what he was planning.

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 15:49:45

Where do you get your misinformation from lemon? He has randomly bombed several targets before now or did you forget that?

The reason is obvious. The same reason that Thatcher started a war in the Falklands, to detract from trouble at home.

Then the ‘our country right or wrong’ brand of patriots jump up and down and wave their flags.

Why now? You really need to ask? ???

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 15:57:04

Dear oh dear, so belligerant yeahbut !
DT hasn’t randomly bombed anything .....and as for your conspiracy theory of ‘Thatcher started a war in the Falklands’
The less said the better. You will find that Argentina made the first move there by taking over a country that didn’t belong to it in a hostile way.

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 15:59:04

You cannot be that politically naive surely?

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 16:01:20

Just one example of previous Trump bombing raids US bombs Syria

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 16:03:31

Another (different) example US bombing 2018

Have these escaped your attention perhaps.

MerylStreep Mon 06-Jan-20 16:05:30

yehbutnobut
Could you tell us where these ^random bombings* were?

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 16:07:50

Follow the links dearly. Quite explicit.

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 16:09:35

There was nothing random about the bombings yeahbut
By the US in Syria against ISIL in some cases and against Assad forces in others, after Assad used chemical weapons on his own people.

Yehbutnobut Mon 06-Jan-20 16:14:58

You said ‘up to now, he has had no truck with the US getting involved in foreign wars’ I was responding to that piece of misinformation.

However it’s clear that nothing anyone could ever say, even proving you wrong, will alter you view. So ....why bother.

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 16:20:33

Getting heavily involved I should have said, as Trump has constantly said from the outset that he does not want the US bogged down in foreign wars.
The US had to help out where it could in Syria though, and it did so, nothing about it was random.

trisher Mon 06-Jan-20 16:26:37

If you want to know why watch what he said about Obama
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ecqMwLjTqQ
He says Obama will start a war with Iran in rder to get elected hmm

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 16:34:07

That’s old news trisher
DT is a very peculiar person ( to put it mildly) and said everything but the kitchen sink about Obama and Hilary Clinton, but from what I have read about him, he really doesn’t want or like, being the POTUS who causes deaths of his own countrymen, he has a horror of it ( although has no problems with anyone elses am guessing.)
Therefore he must be going along with advice to have agreed this last drone strike.

WadesNan Mon 06-Jan-20 16:34:26

It seems some posters here will have sympathy and support for any government or regime as long as it isn't British or American.

lemongrove Mon 06-Jan-20 16:35:25

It’s all just our speculation of course, at the moment.

Fennel Mon 06-Jan-20 16:54:17

I agree it's intended as a distraction from the impeachment process and election coming up.
Still a dangerous gamble though.
I hope and pray that BJ will show some restraint. Though that's against his nature.

jura2 Mon 06-Jan-20 17:33:33

What nonsense WadesNan

maddyone Mon 06-Jan-20 17:56:16

.....Thatcher started a war in The Falklands.......

It was absolutely nothing to do with the invasion of The Falklands by the Argentinians then?

The way people twist information to suit their own agenda is truly unbelievable!

maddyone Mon 06-Jan-20 17:58:29

Lemongrove is politically naive!!!

Pan calling kettle black comes to mind Yeahbut.
