It looks as if Harry and Meghan really may have to make their own way in the world after all. Hopefully their new landlord will put his hand in his pocket if need be. He probably won’t miss the odd £billion.

I am surprised as I thought they would be given whatever they want to avoid any tell it as they see it documentaries.

Any chance of leaving them alone to enjoy the life they choose once they are not public property? Doubt it!!
Let’s just leave them alone to chose their own life and mind our own business.

Suziewoozie two whole threads on M & H. Two. On one day. Jeepers. The worst thing is that most of them are so mean, and none of us have met this young couple, and none of us can walk in their shoes. I am obviously missing something vital. It is a bit like going to the newsagent and seeing row after row of gossip mags. I suppose interest and curiosity about public figures is normal, but the borderline hate? How revealing of human nature. Eeek. Now I will be piled on...

Jane10 Sun 19-Jan-20 09:29:41

Our interest will be their financial objective. They've packaged themselves and plan to sell their various products and services. They can't afford to lose our interest or, at least, that of the sort of people who are daft enough to be taken in by them. Bottom line they're cashing in on selling themselves.

Nezumi65 Sun 19-Jan-20 09:29:44

Good for them. I’m not a Royal watcher but have seen the things written about Kate and Meghan side by side and the narrative around Meghan was outrageous. Half the daily mail readership accused her of faking her pregnancy FFS. He watched his mother hounded to death by the press and is now protecting his wife and child (have seen awful things written about Archie as well in comparison to his cousins - what on earth is wrong with people.

If anyone has caused the Queen embarrassment and stress recently I would have thought it was Prince Andrew hmm

Seems to me H&M understand what is important in life. They both already have a lot of money & appear to me to just want a life away from a constant barrage of abuse from the tabloids. I hope they get it. No doubt Meghan’s toxic side of the family will continue to froth, but by removing themselves from public ownership I assume those stories will eventually become worthless.

If I saw them I would wish them well. I had an Archie and he changed my life in ways I didn’t think possible. Maybe the same has happened here.

Marjgran Sun 19-Jan-20 09:36:37

Nezumi65 spot on. When you compare the commentaries, can you really exclude racism? Good on them. Nightmare scenario, so try to escape.

Taffy1234 Sun 19-Jan-20 09:38:26

I have been reading 'And what do you ? By Norman Baker. It is a very interesting account of the royal family. I recommend it to anyone who has any views about its memebers.

merlotgran Sun 19-Jan-20 09:40:32

Half the daily mail readership accused her of faking her pregnancy FFS.

Half???

Are you absolutely sure? grin grin

Buffy Sun 19-Jan-20 09:42:03

These are the most argumentative posts I have ever seen.
He’ll be back - alone and more lonely than ever.

Marjgran Sun 19-Jan-20 09:42:40

Merlotgran is it any better if it is “only” a quarter of the readership? Jeepers. The treatment of her has been vile

Rosina Sun 19-Jan-20 09:46:46

And she's off - hiding yet again behind another name. We all know who we are thinking about, don't we? Another jolly round of increasingly sarcastic, pointless bile until we get fed up with it and head off to poison pastures new.

eazybee Sun 19-Jan-20 09:57:05

Meghan wants a life away from the constant barrage of press abuse, so she shares a highly personal letter to her father with five friends so they can comment on selected extracts to a trashy magazine, and then sues the Mail on Sunday when it joins in the fray. The protection she would have received when she was within the confines of the royal family will not be available now, and Prince Harry will get even more cross, to little effect.

She has attempted to drag the royal family down to her level, that of a soap opera, instead of studying history and seeing how the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were regarded following his abdication: with disdain.

Like most of us our children have had to work hard and save to buy a home and that’s the lucky ones , some work hard and will never own their home . So my sadness is for these pore kids that are struggling to make a life for themselves and their children , I feel little sympathy for M&H . I used to like H he was such fun always happy and jovial now he looks like a wet weekend . I wish him well in his new life and I’m sure he’ll be rich beyond his wildest dreams but happy I’m not sure ! One thing he’s never going to be homeless or hungry !

Saggi Sun 19-Jan-20 10:00:18

You keep on,keeping on Suziewoozie...all these bloody threads about people of no importance.

annsixty Sun 19-Jan-20 10:01:59

Build up not treasure for yourself on earth, "or similar words", I cannot quote the bible accurately.

Jaxie Sun 19-Jan-20 10:03:59

I hate the way posters tell one another to " grow up" and other insults. What's happened to the sisterhood?

Marjgran Sun 19-Jan-20 10:09:03

Jaxie I guess Meghan isn’t included in the sisterhood.

acanthus Sun 19-Jan-20 10:19:06

Megha-rich would be well advised to abandon her lawsuit against the Daily Mail - I'm sure they have a large dossier of dirt (true or not) to draw upon in the coming months. I think H & M are being naive to think there will be less press scrutiny in N America, or here for that matter. Netflix here we come!

Nezumi65 Sun 19-Jan-20 10:27:07

Ain’t that the truth @Marjgran Pitchforks ahoy if she gets pregnant/cradles her bump/crosses her legs/closes a car door/has a baby/smiles/doesn’t smiles/wears an off the shoulder dress/breathes

Jaycee5 Sun 19-Jan-20 10:28:23

suziewoozie Good try but you are trying to invoke kindness in a thread that starts with people wishing a marriage breakup on a young couple with a new baby having to take protective measures for their own sanity.
This topic is turning into a forum for Granny EDL. (Except of course the vitriol has nothing to do with racism wink) and of course anyone who challenges that is just told to get off the thread.

GoldenAge Sun 19-Jan-20 10:39:30

Sussexborn - I think it remains to be seen whether any unsavoury documentaries emerge because whilst Harry may be averse to laying his grandmother bare to the public, Meghan has no such allegiances and her track record reveals that she is no newcomer to manipulating the press for her own advantage. Unfortunately, she has just ticked another box on her wish list - she's forced a British prince to lose his title and walk away from his family with all the wealth he has been able to amass in monetary and reputation terms. She knows she is in control of the situation and if she feels the time comes when their coffers are running low I'm convinced she'll get her media people to come up with some royal family dirt that will make her more millions. But, if it all comes out maybe the British public will stop behaving as though royalty were demi gods, and give a bit more of their brain time to the poor and properly needy.

SirChenjin Sun 19-Jan-20 10:42:38

There is no need for anyone to try and invoke kindness - we are all adults and we have a right to express an opinion on the behaviour of H&M as we see fit. It may not chime with your views on them but that’s fine - no opinion is more or less valid than the other and the sisterhood is unaffected by unaffected by views on the SussexRoyal brand. Good luck to them both, I wish them well in their life free from anything related to the RF - and I hope the lives of ordinary Canadians benefit greatly from their presence, I really do.

wicklowwinnie Sun 19-Jan-20 10:49:00

Yes, Marjgran and Nezumi65 I think you're right, there's so many
veiled remarks of 'mixed race', not colour you note.

Aren't we all mixed race though? Celt, roman, angles etc etc.

Anniebach Sun 19-Jan-20 10:49:16

I don’t think they want to live a life free from anything related
to the RF, if they did they would have given up their royal titles.

They won’t use HRH, doesn’t stop others introducing them as
HRH.

tickingbird Sun 19-Jan-20 11:01:49

Summerlove much like Lily Alk

tickingbird Sun 19-Jan-20 11:03:00

Summerlove Much like Lilly Allen you wouldn’t recognise irony if it jumped up and introduced itself.
