Harry & Megan drop HRH Titles

I think that they have agreed to drop the HRH titles from April, as there would have been too many conditions to making money while holding the title.
They are also, apparently, going to repay the £2.4m of taxpayers money spent on Frogmore.
So, it looks like neither of them will be back to the UK very often at all.
I think that this is the right decision, do you?

It did rather look as though she was smiling to the camera, but the photos aren't great quality so presumably a long lens. As others have said, not a very convincing picture but hey, smiling at bushes is just the kind of thing I'd do. I could make Lady in the van look polished merlot

I'm not sure it's all Meghan's fault. Harry's hatred of the press is obsessive and whereas she might be happy to be snapped walking her dogs etc., he will stamp his feet and throw his toys out the pram.

Meghan looked happy in the photo. At first I thought she'd been walking with a friend who had taken it.

Calm down Harry.

She knew she was about to be papped as the baby is back to front to avoid anyone seeing his face (she likes orchestrated photos of him).
she will have people thinking the worst.

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 14:51:11

Same happened with Diana, complained about the press but use to tip them off .

merlotgran Tue 21-Jan-20 14:48:36

I didn't hear the lunchtime news as I was walking my dog in my designer beanie, ancient Barbour jacket and CAT boots.

After the dog walking fashion thread on here and Meghan's cool dog walking clobber, I need to ensure that passengers on the passing trains from Kings Lynn to Liverpool street don't think they're witnessing a rural sequel to the Lady in the Van!

maddyone Tue 21-Jan-20 14:44:46

I still think she agreed, look at how she’s smiling. No one would smile like that at
a) nobody or b) a photographer photographing them when they didn’t actually want to be photographed.

Maybe Harry had something to say about it when he arrived back - pure speculation of course grin

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 14:41:14

merlot sky news - the Duke and Duchess have issued a warning to the paps.

Earlier the news reader said sue

MawB Tue 21-Jan-20 14:35:37

Doodle that is what the security men were for with their “By Royal Appointment” #Sussexroyal biodegradable poo bags - didn’t you see them in their hands? gringrin

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 14:35:18

It was said on the news they are to lodge a complaint,
who walks two dogs, a baby in a harness , two bodyguards walking behind , smiling broadly

merlotgran Tue 21-Jan-20 14:33:20

They are going to sue over the photograph

They're what????? shock

How do you know this Annie?

maddyone Tue 21-Jan-20 14:28:21

I think the photos were taken with Meghan’s permission. I have no idea what her motivation was in agreeing to the photos, but as the photos show Meghan looking very happy and smiling as she carried her baby, and apparently looking straight at the camera, I can’t see how these were random paparazzi photos.
I’m not concerned with how she holds her baby, or her dogs, that’s up to her. I’m more interested in why Meghan cooperated with having photos taken when we’ve been told the H+M want more privacy.

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 14:22:11

They are going to sue over the photograph

Doodle Tue 21-Jan-20 14:16:49

So what I want to know is this. If Megan has baby in sling and two dogs on leads how is she going to manage the poop scoop without falling over?

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 14:03:25

H & M are more suited to the American celebrity circus

MawB Tue 21-Jan-20 13:59:58

Who indeed cares Trisher so why ask or comment ?
I removed it because I had momentarily forgotten about not posting pictures of my grandchildren on social media.
Satisfied?

Greeneyedgirl Tue 21-Jan-20 13:50:39

I can't believe how much interest is still generated by the royals, as evidenced by the myriad posts on here. To me they're an archaic remnant of the past.
Perhaps they will struggle bravely on for another few years, but I guess that whatever befalls them in the end it will be Meghan's fault smile.

Dec46 Tue 21-Jan-20 13:38:00

I haven't read all of these posts but did look up the photos of Meghan and archie and thought she looked really happy. I also thought Harry looked happy arriving in Canada and think they will probably have a much happier life there or in USA rather than in Britain. Lot's of other Brits have made a new life away from Uk and so could they.
They haven't died, just moved,so can see family quite often if they so wish.

trisher Tue 21-Jan-20 13:29:59

Interesting MawB you post about how a sling should be used including a photo, then berate me because I try to explain what might have happened. By then you have removed your original post. Weird or just a lack of personal insight. Who knows? Who cares?

merlotgran Tue 21-Jan-20 13:26:37

Those photos were definitely taken with permission.

trisher Tue 21-Jan-20 13:24:50

Annie Andrew had links with a paedophile and Charles housed an ex-bishop who was done for indecent assault and served time, but was not charged with child abuse although there was evidence to show he was involved. He was cautioned 22 years before for the same offence and regarded Charles as a close friend www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/sep/08/former-bishop-peter-ball-admits-sexually-abusing-young-men
But hey it's the RF they couldn't possibly be a risk could they?

Nezumi65 Tue 21-Jan-20 13:19:46

The photos are from a pap agency. Given Harry’s hatred of the paparazzi I doubt they’re willingly filling the coffers of an agency. Why couldn’t a pap have taken them?

MawB Tue 21-Jan-20 13:07:10

Oh Trisher thank you for your invaluable words of wisdom, I would never have known about how babies sleep in slings despite using a Snuggli for mine 35-45 years ago and seeing DDs using them for Flynn and Otis.
GransNet is an invaluable resource for egg-sucking instruction isn’t it? hmm
Dare I mention that I would never hold a dog’s lead like that either grin

ReadyMeals Tue 21-Jan-20 12:59:42

Trisher if we only discussed matters of global significance on these forums the site might as well close down. Of course we're going to gossip about minor details at times, cos we're people and people are like that. If you prefer more weighty topics I think you might consider not wasting your time commenting on other people wasting their time on irrelevances?

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-20 12:55:46

The press were invited ? No way could a pap have taken that
photograph

Oopsminty Tue 21-Jan-20 12:55:14

That's what they are there for. I aassume you didn't have 2 guards with you.

So you are agreeing that dogs will react to a situation and no matter how well trained they are you can not guarantee no pulling etc etc

Well done!
