Why is his private life so important to everyone he is a lovely man and shouldn't have to explain himself to the media if he was the man next door would anyone be bothered I doubt it.

Greymar Mon 10-Feb-20 18:39:27

Where do you run to?

ananimous Mon 10-Feb-20 18:35:44

I hear there's a "runner's" job going on ITV, now...

confused

suziewoozie Mon 10-Feb-20 18:26:50

If I had a son I’d so want him to be like PA. I’d be so proud of him. I want my DG’s to grow up just like him.

Galaxy Mon 10-Feb-20 18:22:28

So therefore Prince Anrew is a model of propriety.

Urmstongran Mon 10-Feb-20 17:58:41

My friend said she loved Joan on tv this morning and wished she was on every morning!

Anniebach Mon 10-Feb-20 17:57:34

No, just lucky ?

trisher Mon 10-Feb-20 17:52:34

If people are happy SalsaQueen I don't think anyone should judge. Would a 51 year old woman with an 18 year old man be a "dirty old woman"?

SalsaQueen Mon 10-Feb-20 17:42:58

Trisher I'd say a heterosexual man of 51 with a girl of 18 would be a dirty old man, too, so I'm not being homophobic!

I had a gay friend of many years, who had partners of his own age, or not a lot younger. No problem with that.

Anniebach Mon 10-Feb-20 17:37:01

Surely there is a reason after all these years ?

Urmstongran Mon 10-Feb-20 17:31:21

Ooh, interesting! There’s more to this than we’re being told I think.

seacliff Mon 10-Feb-20 17:16:27

There were 6 of them sitting chatting. Piers started the conversation abut PS. Joan said she hadn't been in the UK recently and couldn't understand why PS had suddenly come out, when everyone in the industry had known about it for years. Then Perez Hilton started to tell her the reason was there have been rumours of inappropriateness. They were swiftly shut down by Kelly Osborne and Piers.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 10-Feb-20 16:58:02

Urmstongran she did in deed and was quickly shut down by Piers Morgan.

Urmstongran Mon 10-Feb-20 16:52:07

Apparently Joan Collins (now 86y can you believe) said this morning that everyone in the business knew P.S. was gay for years and wondered why he chooses now to make it known?

Galaxy Mon 10-Feb-20 16:34:50

Er I have been very vocal on my view of Prince Andrew and if this is true I will feel exactly the same about PS.

Anniebach Mon 10-Feb-20 16:03:46

Double standards trisher ? mmmmmm

suziewoozie Mon 10-Feb-20 15:58:36

You remember right trisher but it’s not just any old double standards and prejudice is it, it’s good old GN misogynistic double standards and prejudice ?

Greymar Mon 10-Feb-20 15:58:00

trisher, with all due respect, I believe the young man was known to PS from the age of 10 and was in an employee, an imbalance of power. Indeed , perhaps that is the common thread. I don't know, and we don't know. This " coming out" thing is a load of old nonsense though.

trisher Mon 10-Feb-20 15:54:12

I seem to remember lots of posts from some on GN who claimed a 17 year old knew what she was doing (even though she claimed a convicted paedophile had groomed her). Apparently an 18 year old man isn't able to decide for himself and must have been groomed (even though he hasn't actually said anything). The double standards and prejudice on GN never cease to amaze me.

Anniebach Mon 10-Feb-20 15:31:32

Prince Andrew allegedly had sex with a 17 year old when he
was 40. 23 year difference in age

Schofield allegedly had sex with a 18 year old when he was 51.
33 year difference in age

Greymar Mon 10-Feb-20 15:25:00

So the young man was groomed?

trisher Mon 10-Feb-20 15:12:58

One of my best friends had a civil partnership with a man who was over 30 years younger than him. He wasn't a "dirty old man". They were happier than most people I know.

SalsaQueen Mon 10-Feb-20 15:02:53

Today's "new" about Schofield is that he had an affair with a young man named Matthew McGreevy, formally a runner on This Morning, who left after some argument. He was 18, Schofield 51, when they were apparently lovers. If that's true, then Schofield isn't just gay, but a dirty old man as well.

3nanny6 Mon 10-Feb-20 14:40:57

Still feel sorry for his wife of 27 years. P.S. presumably known he is gay all his life (well once he started to have sexual feelings) all gay friends I know have said they knew from early age they were gay)

Are the public being fed the fake news that P.S. has been completely faithful to his wife for the 27 years without any hint of cheating on her with a man? Mrs Schofield go and find yourself a good man and best wishes to you once you find him flaunt him all over the tabloids and everywhere else hopefully he will be a toyboy with the body of an Adonis.

dortie145 Mon 10-Feb-20 14:39:32

Whilst I agree it was the honest thing for Phillip to do, the way it was done was cringy. All that lovey hugging and tears, on national tv I dont think most people really care one way or another but I expect his family do, and despite how amazing his wife, and family have been about the announcement I can only imagine the pain and hurt it has generated. But Phil rides off into the sunset as a hero lauded for his bravery but if he had been brave he would have been honest a bit earlier but maybe he would not be the popular figure he is today without his wife and family.

Millie22 Mon 10-Feb-20 14:27:04

No definately not brave.
Bravery is going out on an RNLI lifeboat in a rough sea.
The firemen going into the 9/11 towers when everyone else was running away.
Being a soldier in the first world war or any other war really.
My grandad was brave.
I could go on.
