I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

I believe Meghan was welcomed by the royal family and as far as I could observe, by the British people.
However, it has become apparent to me, that my initial happiness for Harry, in finding himself a beautiful and confident woman to be his wife, was totally misplaced. Her behaviour has clearly shown that she is more interested in fickle Hollywood celebrities than in the British people who helped pay for her expensive wedding. She has clearly shown that she wanted to sell the royal name to the highest bidder in the form of Harry talking about his dead mother, which is distasteful in the extreme.
If anyone on this thread wants to call me a ‘hater’ they can go ahead. Actually I don’t hate Meghan, but I dislike her behaviour intensely. To put it bluntly, I think she’s behaved appallingly, and I am forced to wonder if this was her plan all along, to use Harry for the kudos and millions of pounds he would bring her, alongside getting her a ringside seat at the table if those celebrities she apparently admired so much.

Well. She's arrived! And to prove it?...she's 'ere

Anniebach Thu 05-Mar-20 19:39:44

Ellianne yes, the royal family could not have seen her walking
down the aisle , you may be right but for me it was sooo
Hollywood

Calendargirl Thu 05-Mar-20 20:01:12

I thought her solo walk, whether the duration was long or short, was to show the world that she was a mature, confident, self assured woman, who didn’t need a man to give her away on her wedding day, but was astute enough to know that allowing the Prince of Wales to carry out his escort duties would go down well with the public, RF and the Establishment.
I thought the whole wedding was glorious, and find it hard to believe that less than two years later, it has all gone so, so wrong.

Namsnanny Thu 05-Mar-20 20:02:44

No Summerlove you were marmalading two differing opinions to support your own perspective.

Calendargirl Thu 05-Mar-20 20:04:48

Just looked at the pictures Merlotgran.

Very much, ‘eyes and teeth’ on show, but she looks very striking.

Callistemon Thu 05-Mar-20 20:05:11

Yes, I thought the wedding was wonderful and thought she was brave to take that walk when her father had to let her down so badly.

merlotgran Thu 05-Mar-20 20:08:44

Very Hollywood. Calendargirl

Lots of gloss.

Greymar Thu 05-Mar-20 20:15:30

They look utterly stunning, utterly. Big, wide genuine smiles and good luck to them. Magical pictures.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Mar-20 20:16:01

So, how does this character assassination about somebody you don't know fit in with a Christian faith?

Interesting question Greymar. There are some on here, just as there are in all Christian groups, who are only prepared to take Christianity as far as it suits them. Interestingly there are those who treat their politics that way too. Such hypocrisy was around in Jesus' time so I doubt it's going to disappear now. We shouldn't judge any religion by the hypocrites within it I suppose, any more than we should judge a religion by the extremist within it. I just wonder why Christianity attracts quite so many hypocrites.

Anniebach Thu 05-Mar-20 20:17:03

It wouldn’t have been giving her away, it would have been
escorting her, it wasn’t asked at the alter ‘who gives this woman ‘

Calendargirl Thu 05-Mar-20 20:23:31

You’re right AB, she wasn’t given away- I had forgotten that.

Calendargirl Thu 05-Mar-20 20:25:39

But maybe some of them now wish they could ‘give her back’!

?

Txquiltz Thu 05-Mar-20 20:26:52

She brought no real knowledge of royalty or the beautiful English culture into her new life. The "stiff upper lip" comment was so derogatory. Treating an elderly woman (to say nothing of a Queen) with such disrespect is unacceptable. If she chooses not to live the life of a royal, realize that should mean not expecting their monetary support. Keeping her child from knowing his father's roots is using him as a shill.
If her Norh American life is what she wants, go for it. Living it like a "star" is a bit amusing since that includes lack of privacy and the press. She also has a husband that deserves consideration. I'm ashamed of how she has represented Americans to the British people.

Greymar Thu 05-Mar-20 20:26:53

That's vile. A woman isn't a thing to be given away.

Anniebach Thu 05-Mar-20 20:28:31

???????

janipat Thu 05-Mar-20 20:32:19

GGMK3 does Christianity attract so many hypocrites? More than other religions? Do you have the links? Are Christians not allowed to criticise anyone's behaviour? I haven't been a vigorous critic of Meghan, but there have been aspects of her and Harry's behaviour I've not liked. Suppose I criticise Donald Trump, is that permitted? I've read comments from Meghan about Donald Trump, not complimentary in the least. Does she need reminding about Christian hypocrisy?

Greymar Thu 05-Mar-20 20:37:06

I dunno. Is she a Christian?

Calendargirl Thu 05-Mar-20 20:50:07

She was baptised and confirmed in the Church of England prior to her marriage Greymar

janipat Thu 05-Mar-20 20:54:00

In March 2018, Markle was baptized, in a 45-minute ceremony that was attended by several members of the royal family, including Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. taken from www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/did-meghan-markle-have-to-convert-religions-to-marry-prince-harry.html/
So I assume the answer is yes. So does she need a reminder?

Anniebach Thu 05-Mar-20 20:55:01

I hope she was, she made holy vows ,

Greymar Thu 05-Mar-20 20:59:49

So what Christian hypocrisy has she shown?

maddyone Thu 05-Mar-20 21:17:15

Meghan looks wonderful in the pictures. It’s a shame she has caused two families so much heartache. I would have been so embarrassed to be smiling so happily knowing the turmoil I’d caused.

janipat Thu 05-Mar-20 21:20:05

Well from some on here it appears if you criticise a public figure who you don't personally know then that's unChristian, and hypocrisy. Meghan has fiercely criticised Donald Trump and I'm pretty sure he's not on her friends list, so not personally known.

Anniebach Thu 05-Mar-20 21:20:40

Perhaps too self centred to care about others . The cameras
were there so she was happy .

Yes I know unkind , but I think she has hurt people
