Is Johnson getting bored?

It occurred to me yesterday that we have seen little of the PM in recent days. Not as if anything much is happening, what with serious flooding, an international health crisis and now the stock markets in freefall. I wondered if perhaps he is getting bored with the tedium of being PM? Before this weeks PMQs he has not been seen in public for 12 days. Perhaps is OK for him to be holed up in Chequers over the weekend? What do you think??

I have no idea whether he's bored. From what I've read about him, he possibly doesn't have the self awareness to realise how incompetent he is. He's surrounded himself with incompetents and sycophants, who won't even be able to cover his back.

I'm beginning to sense that the screw is turning. It really depends whether the Labour Party can come up with an alternative which is acceptable to the majority of the electorate.

He is still just looking for photo opportunities. But thank goodness he has shown us how to wash our hands. I would never have worked that out without his demonstration!

SirChenjin Sat 07-Mar-20 09:13:10

You really do! grin

growstuff Sat 07-Mar-20 08:56:37

Oh! I see! I need to sign up for a course in "New Speak".

For ‘collegiate approach’ read ‘hands off approach as a result of a combination of boredom and lack of ability to run a Govt’.

growstuff Sat 07-Mar-20 08:32:20

Leaders generally lead by example, make decisions and inspire. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing any of those things.

I'd be interested in evidence of the collegiate approach because I haven't noticed it.

Just maybe he is getting on with stuff rather than looking for photo opportunities. I sense he has a more collegiate approach to cabinet and ministers are made responsible for their areas and are out and about.

And "he suggested it was “feeble” for a man to be unable or unwilling to “take control of his woman”, arguing Britain needed to “restore women’s desire to be married”"

Yeah, he's all about the liberal views...

jura2 Fri 06-Mar-20 19:41:56

oh yeah ???

''the Conservative Party leader described the children of single mothers as “ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate”.

Dinahmo Fri 06-Mar-20 19:19:57

I've thought of one good thing to say about BJ - at least he doesn't preach family values to us, unlike some politicians from the Thatcher years, notably Cecil Parkinson.

Lovetopaint037 Fri 06-Mar-20 19:02:43

Poor old hapless Boris. He has been given a job he can’t cope with so he does what he always does; that is avoid what is too difficult and depend on those around him who are also hand picked not to overshadow him. What a mistake to make. He of all people needs astute minds to prop him up but where are they? He got rid of them.

SirChenjin Fri 06-Mar-20 17:38:38

When these people in high places become PM and write vile stuff about single mothers and their children then I’ll care about their moral compass Jabberwok. Right now, this thread is about the sleazebag in No 10.

trisher Fri 06-Mar-20 17:36:11

Jabberwok BJ's illegitimate child is 10. While he was married he was serially unfaithful. His wife kept taking him back. No doubt when she did so he promsied never to stray again. The children were not adults then! You really cannot justify this man's appalling behaviour.

Jabberwok Fri 06-Mar-20 17:29:12

The 'children's of the marriage are adults, the youngest being 21!! so hardly a vulnerable age!

Jabberwok Fri 06-Mar-20 17:26:43

I think you'll find that a lot of men, and some women too in high places, (not just WM & H.O. L) have very little moral compass one way or another!!!

paddyanne Fri 06-Mar-20 17:06:46

jabberwok I dont remember any other MP ,never mind PM leaving a wife who was fighting cancer and his children for pastures new....maybe I'm wrong and its normal in WM for men to have no moral code .If any of my children walked out on a sick partner I would be thouroughly ashamed of them ,and to flaunt a new partner complete with pregnancy before they are divorced is equally disgusting .

SirChenjin Fri 06-Mar-20 16:38:47

And before you start making snide comments about Abbott and common knowledge give some thought to the sleazebag in charge at WM that this thread is about.

Jabberwok Fri 06-Mar-20 16:21:25

And?!!

SirChenjin Fri 06-Mar-20 15:22:53

Yes it’s common knowledge - a bit like the fact that BJ is unsure of the number of children he has smile

Jabberwok Fri 06-Mar-20 15:02:11

Diane Abbott was J.C's mistress, not wife. Sorry, should have made that clearer for those who obviously didn't know although it is common knowledge!

SirChenjin Fri 06-Mar-20 08:52:13

Yep - the Brexit Blinkers meant that everything else was pushed to the side. Now, of course, the blinkers are off and it’s becoming very apparent that it’s all unraveling and he couldn’t organise a p up in a brewery.

Daisymae Fri 06-Mar-20 08:48:50

People voted for Johnson to 'get Brexit done' that was just about all he could say during the campaign. They seemed to forget this we needed a leader and his shortcomings are not only plain to see but could have critical implications for the country.

Cindersdad Fri 06-Mar-20 07:32:06

Boris Johnson is simply not fit for purpose. He only voted Brexit because it gave him the best route to being PM and not because he cared for the country. The sooner he is rumbled and ejected from Downing Street the better chance the country has to recover the better. The man has little convictions other than self interest.

varian Thu 05-Mar-20 19:34:17

We are getting embarrassingly close to competing with the US in the "who's got the worst leader competition"

Lucca Thu 05-Mar-20 18:54:14

I also watched it. Can’t believe how awful that was. Before I am called a leftie remoaner I wish to state that My comment has nothing to do with his politics, just the fact that a highly educated man in public life could be incapable of expressing himself properly.
