You know only 32% of Australians know that Queen is their HOS. So much for Australians loves the Royals. They are insignificant to their lives.

Did you see Andrew in car with the Queen grinning short while back Arnt we lucky time of thing, thought he be unseen but photographer caught it. Shows what they think of the rest of us. Queen has 10 million in tax haven investments.

The private properties the Queen has, was bought from money queen Victoria and Albert got from government royal funding. So really those private properties don't belong to Queen belong to the state.

anyhow one family having all this wealth and so many poor starving the inequality is stark in contrast in the U.K today.

Said enough.

Do we want a Republican like Trump ?

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 16:55:24

There can't be too many Trump like around. So no not a Trump like HOS I hear the Irish President HOS is well liked.

I love having a monarchy and never wish to become a republic thank you ver much!

Prince Albert personally bought Balmoral for Queen Victoria in 1852 for £32.000 and personally paid for its renovation. Sandringham was also privately purchased by Prince Albert, (died Dec 1861) the sale going through in 1862, for Prince Albert Edward (Bertie) and Princess Alexandra.
Is Prince Andrew, who hasn't actually been found guilty of anything, supposed to go around hanging his head in abject misery ALL the time. The photos (evidence of wrong doing) were three, two with evidently happy party goers, one, walking in the park with a then friend! Hardly hanging offences, the young lady was 17 not 7!!

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 17:18:22

A mother and son together in a car and the son smiles, ?

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 17:54:35

Andrew had made lots of dubious trade deals for various others as trade envoy It was said Andrew did not just cross the line he went millions miles across it. Plus he was friends with a serial sex offender Epstein

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 18:29:52

‘It was said ‘, who said it ?

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 18:33:46

In newspapers Look it up if interested

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 18:35:48

Newspapers, it must be true !

Chestnut Thu 16-Apr-20 18:45:10

The usual vociferous republican voices, here and elsewhere, trying to shout the loudest. The majority want to keep the Royal Family and those who don't should be careful what they wish for. ?

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 19:22:10

What wish for would be lot better than what we got now. If you have not looked into the power, lobbying, privilege amount of money money spent. Above the law, secretive. Just accept them, beyond reproach. That's your choice. It's not democracy

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 19:37:02

Why not list what they give ?

paddyanne Thu 16-Apr-20 19:49:38

JABBERWOK They are parasites ,they feed off other humans, people who are struggling pay taxes to keep them in the life they believe they're entitiled to.All for a wave or a ribbon cut or if her "subjects" are really lucky a speech like last weeks telling them how "We will all get through this" That royal "we" when she and her wee group of entitled eegits are living in luxury all across the country while normal folk are sick with worry about how their families will survive ...not just the virus but the financial consequences of it.Take off your rose tinted specs and see the reality .The monarchy should end when Lizzie dies .

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 19:54:18

They list their excursions in detail but not their expenses in any detail at all funny that.
Don't have time to answer any more silly questions.

Jabberwok Thu 16-Apr-20 20:06:57

You're entitled to your opinion paddyanne. Please respect the fact that I am entitled to mine. I don't share your opinions and certainly not the language you use. I'm not particularly enamoured with your first minister or the Scottish government , but I wouldn't dream of using insulting language to describe her or them.

trisher Thu 16-Apr-20 20:10:59

Jabberwok do you really not know the things Epstein was involved in? If one of my DSs had a friendship with someone like that I would go ballistic. And if he claimed it was all innocent I would send him off to give evidence to the authorities (well actually I wouldn't need to send him, my sons have morals, they would just go).
The RF has a long history of immorality. It's time they went.

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 20:21:51

Well Said paddyanne I agree with you.

Jabberwok Thu 16-Apr-20 20:27:52

I don't interfer in my children's lives, (they are in their fifties) still less tell them who they can or can't be friendly with, approve or disapprove! They don't interfer in my life either! We value each others privacy!

Galaxy Thu 16-Apr-20 20:36:20

If children are at risk then you should interfere. Its basic safeguarding.

trisher Thu 16-Apr-20 20:44:55

No matter how old my children get if they associated with a paedophile I would interfere in their lives. It's called social responsibility.

Grany Thu 16-Apr-20 21:26:19

Well Jabberwok This is about Queen and Andrew so this situation is not same as yours different kettle of fish.

The Queen supported Andrew who has not answered to the FBI

The British monarchy is an archaic and out of date institution. The argument that tourists would no longer visit Britain if the monarchy was abolished is, I believe, a myth. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands has worked as a KLM pilot for over 20 years. Princess Sofia of Sweden is volunteering at a hospital during the coronavírus outbreak. Elizabeth 11 has made a speech from isolation in Windsor Castle. One of her grandsons has fled to America to live the life of a celebrity and the rest of the family are isolating on their various estates. Once this pandemic is over, the role of our monarchy should be evaluated.

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 19:38:39

Princess Sofia of Sweden is 35 , the Queen is 93.

Princess Sofia is not married to a heir to the throne . She did
cause interest when as a glamour model she was photographed wearing bikini bottom with a snake around
her bare boobs.

almostelderly Sat 18-Apr-20 19:57:04

Sofia is a member of the Swedish Royal Family, she became a princess in 2015. I am not suggesting that a 93 year old woman does voluntary work, I am simply making a comparison between the differing attitudes to monarchy and their lifestyles.
