Oh dear, it's not going well is it?

PECS Tue 13-Oct-20 15:02:16

Not remotely interested in dogs belonging to people I do not know.

Namsnanny Tue 13-Oct-20 14:55:15

Happy dogs, and lovely setting!

Ellianne Tue 13-Oct-20 14:15:55

Thanks Namsnanny, East Devon.

Ellianne Tue 13-Oct-20 13:56:23

Sorry, thread derailment.

Ellianne Tue 13-Oct-20 13:55:21

And my dogs today!

Sparklefizz

If we don't like the way Harry's behaving nowadays, does this mean we are "gingerist"? grin

Ginger is very fashionable these days. Have you noticed all the child models with red hair. Very cute and colourful!

Anniebach Tue 13-Oct-20 13:47:27

? surely not Sparkle

When they spoke of education for girls , Harry said he was lucky to have the education he had,

Harry, girls are not accepted at Eaton and there is that minor
problem of money

maddyone Tue 13-Oct-20 12:51:53

Sorry, don't know where the better came from.

I agree, I struggle to find anything Meghan says as interesting or relevant.

merlotgran Tue 13-Oct-20 12:21:37

I think you have to be very familiar with 'Woke speak.' She loses me after about the third sentence.

If I get that far.

Elegran Tue 13-Oct-20 11:53:25

Someone organising the summit must have asked her to do it. There is nothing like being "famous" to make people reverently listen to your opinion on everything under the sun, whether you have a clue about it or not.

Anyway, Meghan's about to discuss 'how she leads on the global stage' in another virtual summit. hmm

Stand by your beds!!

I'm all ears merlotgrangrin

Anniebach Tue 13-Oct-20 11:28:16

Good grief, she is barking

lemsip. I started this thread at the beginning of May!

It had run its course but then biba resurrected it.

Naturally it has evolved but the comments are still relevant.

Anniebach Tue 13-Oct-20 10:39:33

I think Meg’s speed of talking so irritating, could be because I
am Welsh !

biba70 Tue 13-Oct-20 10:19:53

lemsip, no- as the conversation about how people identify themselves and others, is particularly relevant to this thread.

BTW, people only talk about people as 'mixed race' if it shows. I know many mixed race people who do not look mixed race.
My husbands family grew up in Apartheid South AFrica- they KNOW the difference that makes.

This thread needs shutting down now! It has run it's course and developed into something else entirely!!!

Isn't that what some threads naturally do lemsip? And ironically Meghan is the one constantly fuelling it, which is her express intention.
I would like to see her next video shot in a room piled with toys, a rampant dog or two playing with Archie, a basket of washing piled up and Meghan cooking the dinner! I know that was all I had time for at that point.

oopsaminty yes there are 1000s of people with racist views & attitudes. None are in my close friendship group but I have certainly met plenty!
I am sure there are some sycophant royalists who would hate anyone of any background who they felt had bismirched the image of the RF . As a rebuplican ( in the British sense not USA!) I don't know too much about the RF other than when it is headline news...e.g weddings, funerals and suspected paedophilia.

Insults ? Where?

Lexisgranny Tue 13-Oct-20 00:48:34

Harry was obviously besotted with his bride, and the colour of her skin was totally irrelevant - as far as I was concerned she could have been any colour or creed, it is none of my business. It was her words and her actions that caused me and many others to have doubts about her. I don’t know her, and I do not suppose anyone else on Gransnet does either - though it would be interesting if someone did. I certainly don’t hate her, that would be totally irrational. Had she stayed here long enough for us to get to know her, maybe my opinion would have changed. We can only base our opinions on what we see, hear and read. (I read a wide variety of newspapers, and form my conclusions from doing so).

I would not particularly call myself a Royalist, but everyone is at liberty to form an opinion, and, as in any other subject there will be differing ones. That is healthy, but surely mature adults can discuss something without insults being bandied about, it is becoming predictable and tedious.
