As the mother of two daughters I just cannot imagine the dreadful suffering of their poor mother.
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢

The news about the murdered sisters in London, the police's first lack of action then the photographs taken at the scene must have shocked everyone. The dignified and measured interview their mother has given couldn't fail to impress. So is she right can these photographs be compared with those taken at lynchings in the US? And is this the real proof that there is still racism in the police?
As the mother of two daughters I just cannot imagine the dreadful suffering of their poor mother.
I've seen very little in the news about who the police might be looking for, has anyone else? Surely they must have some clues as to who he is?
If the murders took place in the night and the person who
found the bodies picked up the knife the police have very little to work on.
Most murders are committed by people known to the victims.
Let's hope that the disgusting behaviour by the two first responding officers leads those involved in the investigation to go the extra mile.
Two women murdered by stabbing in a park is terrifying. As others have said - is there a dangerous psychopath in the area, who poses a huge risk to any woman?
it would not have been that difficult to walk through the area.
it is a large area, but the party was in a well used part, not too far from an entrance in a road.
the police would have been informed of all this.
the sisters did not live with their mother.
they were grown up.
the one whose party it was lived nearby in wembley.
the other one lived in the next borough, harrow.
her partner reported them missing, i believe.
it is thought they died in the early hours of saturday, after 2am.
Precisely Iam64; but I've seen very little on the national news warning of that; which seems a bit unusual in the circumstances.
The police may already suspect somebody Chewbacca.
That was my thought lemon, though of course, it's possible the police have no suspects but don't want to heighten anxiety in the area by suggesting an unstable individual capable of murder is in the area.
wellbeck's information is relevant -we've all seen police investigations hampered by a number of different forces being involved.
all the police have said is that it was a stranger who would have injuries.
so doesn't sound like they have identified a suspect.
presumably they have dna from the assailant's blood at the scene. so not on the police national database. that makes it v difficult. and i guess they will have checked people known to the sisters.
wondering what injuries the two women could have inflicted on the murderer
The taking of selfies with the bodies of these poor women is beyond disgusting and I hope the officers concerned lose their jobs at the very least. However, I have followed this case so far and I haven’t read anywhere that they were found by their own family. I read that a member of the public alerted the police and that other people hadn’t done so as they thought they were sleeping.
Let’s hope the maniac that did this is soon found.
tickingbird a boyfriend found the bodies. Here's their mother talking about it www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-53200019/wembley-park-murders-emotional-interview-with-mum-of-sisters-found-dead
She is an incredible woman.
Thank you Chew for your post - it’s what I thought was the case and I think there have been sone very cruel, callous unthinking posts ( to be charitable ) on here. I was shocked by two early posters who waded in without having the common decency to even bother to check the story out first re the photographing of the bodies which were then shared on a WhatsApp group I believe with other officers and civilians. Quite frankly, if members of the local police could do that and clearly feel safe in so doing, it does make me think that at least in that area there could well be a problem with attitudes towards BAME amongst some local officers.
I am absolutely certain that if two white women with professional backgrounds had gone missing, something would, could and should have been done sooner. And selfies would not have been taken. Some posters on here need to re-read their posts and have a good look at themselves - done posts should be deleted imo. And it might interest any Christians on this thread to know their mother was the first BAME archdeacon in the C of E. That poor poor women - her two children murdered and then she finds out about the photos. I hope to God she never sees this thread.
As for the two policemen, they have been arrested. I hope as well that any other police officer who received the photos and did nothing is also arrested.
I’ve asked HQ to look at this thread re some of the posts. I’m not holding my breath
Oh great another thread deleted? Can't we just leave the inaccurate racist comments so others can see what complete prats some people are.
HQ won’t delete it. But I am beyond shocked at some of the posts on here - this is a public forum and letting them stand or at least go uncriticised sends a very clear message about the sort of attitudes some posters have on such issues and implicitly are confined by GN. That would give comfort and encouragement to the racists out there reading those contributions.
Confined = confirmed
It’s reported the police believe the murders were carried out
by a stranger , but there not been a warning to the general
public in the area, most strange
Why does this thread need deleting? I’d say most posts are expressing concern about this awful crime.

The two women had been celebrating with a few friends in the park. The friends left and the women stayed on. My understanding is that other members of the family grew concerned at their non-appearance and the lack of response to phone messages. They obviously thought it was totally out of character, which is presumably why they contacted the police. Whether the police should have made investigations earlier is debatable. A police website re missing persons says:
"There could be any number of reasons behind a disappearance which is why you should contact the police straight away if you are at all concerned about the safety and wellbeing of the person who has disappeared.
To do this, you can contact your local police station in person or by phone. You can report to your own local police station even if the missing person lives in another part of the UK. You can make a report to the police immediately – you do NOT have to wait until 24 hours after a disappearance. In an emergency you can contact 999."
|I imagine police need to use their judgment in deciding whether a search should immediately commence. I suppose, as the women were adults, with no reported vulnerabilities, and they were together, it might be thought natural for the police to wait a while before instigating a search.
Perhaps, though, they should have listened more carefully to the family members' concerns. They were better equipped to know this behaviour was completely out of character. If the women had a history of being irresponsible and inconsiderate - unexpectedly staying out all night and not responding to phone calls - then presumably the family wouldn't have reacted in the way they did. My understanding is many phone calls were made and, I would imagine increasingly desperate voicemails were left. Perhaps alarm bells should have rung at the outset but, to be fair, I expect the police are receiving these sorts of reports several times a day.
The behaviour of the police officers in taking "selfies" is absolutely repugnant. I don't care how normalised the selfie obsession has become, these were police officers who we expect to behave in a professional and respectful way. It is truly disgusting.
No one said this thread needs deleting - I took issue with some callous unkind unthinking ill-informed posts. The actual topic of the thread is well worth discussing
annie annie * annie* have you no compassion for a doubly bereaved mother or are you going to continue with your snide callous posts?
