Those that state they now believe that Jeremy Corbyn would have made a better Prime Minister than Johnson should have conceived those thoughts prior to the General election.
As a person believing in democracy Corbyn reintroduced that concept throughout all levels of the Labour party with election to all offices outside that of the employed staff. That action drew in huge numbers in membership that made Labour the largest political organisation in Europe.
Leaders such McCluskey and Bob Crow carried out similar to the above in the broader labour movement, again bringing election to all offices throughout the movement.
However, many now criticising the lack of democracy in the Tory Party had only criticism of Corbyn prior to the last general election with little thought it would seem to what may happen to Parliamentary decision making under the leadership of a proven liar such as Johnson.
I seem to recall that I was the only one on this forum still defending Corbyn and his policies on the morning following the general election result. All other "staunch Labour supporters" disappeared from this site often for a period of many weeks.
What a joke some people are.
I agree with most of your comments (most unusual!) Grandad1943, other than the point about other staunch Labour supporters still defending Corbyn after the election.
In my often expressed opinion, he was the best thing to happen to British politics in a very long time. No, he didn't succeed, but the far right infiltration into the UK establishment, business, politics and media bought the election.
I admired Corbyn before, during and after the election. He's a principled man who continues with his support of the poor and needy, previously claimed to be publicity stunts by the Tories.
It was obvious on results day what the position would be with Boris and Cummings. Although obviously no one predicted that they'd have to deal with a global pandemic.
