Well done NS for taking a stand over Margaret Farrier MP breaking the coronavirus rules. What a pity that BJ could not have been as principled over Cummings.

Hi there,

We can see this is at risk of becoming a bun fight - it'd be great to get the discussion back on track. smile

Callistemon Fri 02-Oct-20 16:07:52

I'm good at pathetic stuff like that. What are you good at?

Baggs ?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 02-Oct-20 15:37:07

Baggs

What derogatory comment did I make, sw?

Nowt wrong with having a pale face and very black, straight hair.

Nothing at all you are describing one of my dear daughter-in-laws, who I might add is intelligent and stunningly beautiful.

Suziewoozie It feels like you're always looking for an argument. Not everyone will agree with you on everything. That's life.

Really ? <faints>

Jane as if I d fall into that pathetic trap she set. I know you think it’s fine to make derogatory comments about politicians appearances.

Alegrias Fri 02-Oct-20 14:32:52

NS sounded as if she was speaking from the heart today - but then she generally does. She must feel she's banging her head against the wall sometimes.

Jane10 Fri 02-Oct-20 14:27:28

Read my post suziewoozie- I only commented on Baggs right to post what she thought. I note you didn't answer her question.

Baggs Fri 02-Oct-20 14:26:42

I never comment on any politician’s appearance - it’s pathetic ever so to do

I don't agree. What's wrong with one's appearance in a certain picture reminding someone of Morticia Adams' appearance? Some people might even feel complimented by such a comparison. can't speak for Ferrier, obv.

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 14:12:54

I never comment on any politician’s appearance - it’s pathetic ever so to do but then Jane you’ve got form on that haven’t you?

Luckygirl Fri 02-Oct-20 14:08:12

It is very hard indeed to get one's head round how stupid she was. How could she possibly have thought her actions were acceptable?

NS was clear that MF's actions were "indefensible" - exactly so.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 02-Oct-20 13:50:35

Baggs you should know by now that the only people you can critique regarding their appearance is any Conservative or Donald Trump ???

Jane10 Fri 02-Oct-20 13:43:41

Baggs grin

Baggs Fri 02-Oct-20 13:40:08

Thought police-tastic, sw. I had a thought, unbidden, as they say. I told some people my thought. I think most people call this kind of thing conversation.

I'm good at pathetic stuff like that. What are you good at?

Jane10 Fri 02-Oct-20 13:35:23

Baggs is entitled to make such comments. No need for such an unpleasant response.

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 13:27:22

The picture of Ferrier that I saw reminded me of Morticia Adams.

How damn pathetic

Baggs Fri 02-Oct-20 13:20:08

Elegran Fri 02-Oct-20 12:48:35

Have emphasised, not has.

Elegran Fri 02-Oct-20 12:48:02

Anyone else who wants to hear it first-hand can go to www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-scotland-54369887
They will also hear her say what some of us on here has emphasised - she has no power to make an MP resign, and can only urge her to do so.

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 12:34:06

Wow- just listened to NS at the briefing - that’s what leadership sounds like. And clarity. Eat your heart our Johnson.

Elegran Fri 02-Oct-20 12:09:52

I shall probably be ranted at for pedantry, but the woman's name is "Ferrier" not "Farrier"

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 11:01:57

I agree jan I thought her resignation might be announced this morning - what is keeping her? The longer, the worse - but she’s political toast anyway

Daisymae Fri 02-Oct-20 10:57:51

It's pretty incredible that any thinking person would take the action that she did, let alone someone in her position. She should resign, but I guess she is trying to cling on for as long as possible.

janipat Fri 02-Oct-20 10:53:12

I do expect her to resign eventually, but any honour in that action has gone because she didn't do so immediately, thinking an "I'm sorry" would be good enough to absolve her from the damage she may have done by infecting unknown numbers of people.
