Dominic Cummings has left No.10.....

Very pleased that Dominic Cummings has left/been fired if that's true and he's not somewhere lurking in the background, but what really concerns me is that there may be other people in power who have never been elected and aren't even government employees. Why the need for 'Special Advisors', isn't that what parliament is for??

I suspect a bit of window dressing for the Tory backbenchers who detest the bloke. That does not mean his influence will not still be felt.

I am seriously worried for Boris......how will he fart without Cummings?......how will he know how or when or why?

Hurrah! But he's done well for Barnard Castle. What a mess as Brexit looms.

His exit was clearly staged and he will probably carry on advising Boris "behind the scenes" as that's why B hired him in the first place as he has so few ideas of his own. Also Cummings was great in the campaigning to get Boris elected and get the Leave vote, but that doesn't mean he's the best person to see these things through. I read that Cummings worked in Russia for a few years and is a great admirer of Putin. Putin's mission has always been to create chaos in the West. Looks like Doms done a good job of that (for him?) Now he's off - having made the mess, before he has to clear it up.

Rats, sinking ship - before the Brexit chaos he was much a part of, with his lies writ large on the side of a bus, and Boris' oven-ready deal' before the last election, hits the fan.

I also wonder whether his very public departure was stage managed. Nazir Afzal, a previous Chief Prosecutor for the CPS, has recently submitted new evidence to suggest that Cummings may have lied over his trip to Durham in April. If a court case is in the offing and all the negative publicity that would raise, maybe Johnson is trying to distance himself from Cummings. I wouldn't be surprised though, if he still carries on advising and working for the PM on the quiet.

I was initially elated at the news, but now I’m wondering whether it’s spin, to get us all trusting Boris’ judgement...

He should have been sacked months ago after 'BarnardCastlegate' but better late than never. How will Boris cope without him? Maybe Carrie will be his new advisor!

Has he REALLY left? I think his "exit" via the No 10 front door was staged for the benefit of the public. Most leave via the back door. I think he will remain an "advisor" to Boris just not based at No 10. He knows too much & Boris depends on him. hmm

He should have been sacked during the first round of Covid when he and his family travelled to Durham at Easter. If he hadn't have been so arrogant thinking he was allowed to get away with breaking lockdown then more people may have taken things a bit more seriously

He shouldn't have been allowed to leave by the front door (and the fact that there were so many journalists there points to his having tipped them off in advance). Plus, his office is not even in No 10, so if there were any doubt that this is a staged performance, the dramatic exit would make me wonder.

It means the Brexit plans are all in place - god knows what they are (he wouldn’t go if there was still Brexit lose ends to tie up) & he’s about to pocket his millions.

Only hope is that Johnson now returns to his socially liberal roots and puts some sensible moderates in cabinet, rather than the headbangers, although I suspect he’ll be gone early next year. Can’t see him hanging around.

Hallelujah! But, as with Trump, even though the symptoms disappear, the cause of them does not. As this man has done the country such untold harm through Vote Leave he will probably be given a peerage.

Who’s in charge, Boris or Carrie? Hope it is Carrie, we could do with a woman’s common sense and less ego!

He’s the reason that many folk are treating the lockdown with some disdain. One rule for them, and another for us. Obscene.
