How confident are you in a good deal for the UK?

On another note - You dont have to be a Leave voter to want to see the economy thrive, but you do have to be a Remain voter to want to see it fail.

So when will the economy start to pick up, then?

When will the economies of France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Germany etc start to pick up? You do realise what effects Covid have played on all badly affected countries?

Covid has damaged all economies, but the UK has tanked more than any other in Europe because of the incompetence of the Vote Leave government.

A no-deal brexit will damage all EU members, but none will suffer anywhere near as much as the UK.

Leave voters should stop gloating and hang their heads in shame.

Like you Urmstongran I have many British friends living in Spain and most have taken ‘residencia’ over the last four years so that they can use the health service there.

They have also gotten their spanish driving licences with no problems and are quite resigned to the euro/pound ups and downs- most remember 2011 when it was almost parity!

The ones who didn’t want to do the above have returned to the UK and will holiday only 90 days in 183 as you and I do and in the words of one couple “find other countries to spend our money in”.

simple and obvious- as they all stick and support each other, as a team, and get massive support from the rest of the world, who are appalled and disgusted with the way the UK has behaved, and in particular this lying, law breaking idiot Government, with all the strings pulled by ERG. Beginning with Biden- who will extend a hand of friendship and a great deal for the EU- and certainly not the UK.

You'll see it soon enough. It is just so obvious. I hope the EU will make the UK pay for the massive cost of the negotiations- which were based on lies and a withdrawal agreement agreed, signed knowing full well they had no intention to abide by- and illegally reneged upon. Obvious to anyone with eyes opened. As an isolated Island, the EU were great partners. As enemies, they can truly make our lives a misery, in 1000s of ways. Boycott, tariffs, ports, air, and so much more.

Anyway, Wales problems are lot closer to home than Westminster- the dreaded Drakeford has done for us!

Just seeing one of those expensive ads full of out of work actors in high viz, saying “Check, Change, Go! ”( another childish 3 word slogan). Businesses must be asking - check what? change what? go where? who knows? Whats the point of these ads?

petra all 27 in the eurozone must be terrible (and frightening for some countries) right now. Unlike us in the UK they cannot print their own money to suit their needs. It has to be a loan to be paid back. Some of the poorer 27 are going to suffer greatly. It’s not such a ‘team’ as is touted.

Well that gov ad was in the English printed newspapers in Spain vegansrock. A full page ad every week. It said ‘Living in Spain?’ and showed a photograph of retired ex pats enjoying dining al fresco. It reminded everyone out there to Check their status & requirements as regards regulations. Change documents where necessary. And Go - as in enjoy your new life.

You see things from the British pov. For all sorts of reasons, we are a family of mongrels and travellers- and I can assure you that all our relatives and friends all over the world are appalled by the arrogant, nationalistic British exceptionalism- and by the lack of honesty of our PM. They compare him to Trump, and often worse- and as for the illegal reneging of the withdrawal agreement approved and signed- they have lost all respect and trust for Great Britain- which previously carried much love and respect.

No Deal will not be a compromise- how can you even think of a No Deal as such- is beyond me. But you are right, neither side will win this dreadful game. But the EU will have each other, and the USA and many more, on their side. Nobody will ever trust Great Britain again, for a very long time.

Any of us who truly love GB, will find this hugely sad and tragic. The whole world is laughing at us- in many ways more than the USA. Because they are laughing at Trump- but for the UK, they are laughing at all, not just Johnson and the ERG-
