Anyone watching this now? He really does talk the talk doesn’t he. Has just stated that no health worker has died due to lack of PPE. At least Sarah Owen is now giving him a good grilling.

What a'plonker '.
Who would in their right mind, in this case Cummings, with much to lose nothing to gain have a 'bit on the side' in front of a camera.?

Lucca Mon 28-Jun-21 11:32:19

Boris ? Waffle ? Surely not

Dinahmo Mon 28-Jun-21 11:27:17

Lucca

What I wonder is how Boris justified not sacking Hancock

Apparently he has never sacked anyone - he waffles and then leaves it to someone else. Even whilst at the Spectator.

^But if someone suddenly starts commenting after months of complete silence on a specific topic (i.e government wrongdoing) it's a bit of a surprise^

Is this a new GN guideline MaizieD or one you have just made up?
I wasn’t aware of it but if I have not joined in on some threads recently it might be because they are too often a case of the “same old, same old “ aka the same people banging on about the same things.
Which reminds me- aren’t we due a new Brexit thread soon?

There is one - "Elton John........"

The camera in the office is worrying. Not because it exposed Matt Hancock, but because I understand there are not supposed to be cameras in these places. Who put it there? Why? Are there others? Very worrying.

why?

there are cameras in most workplaces now. You are usually told about them though

maddyone Mon 28-Jun-21 11:20:27

What evidence is there that Carrie gets involved in these things. I’d like to know how people know this definitively.

Oh come on the hypocrisy isn't new. It's been obvious and since the start of this whole thing. And it remains obvious. Matt Hancock is just a stupid man who for some reason has been scapegoated, doing something our PM is actually famous for-breaking the rules.
I think he had to go. He's been at the front and on TV as someone who was leading the Covid battle. I suspect Boris is just removing anyone associated with that and he's going to present opening up as a purely Boris led victory. Watch out Rishi-you'renext!!!!

My point, excellently put!!grin

Apparently Johnson positively did not want him to go.

How would that of worked? Like Cummings I suppose. Johnson seemed to have got away with it then until Carrie got involved.

maddyone Mon 28-Jun-21 11:17:05

I think his behaviour has been disgusting because of his hypocrisy. Likewise Dominic Cummings. And all those football officials who have been allowed into the country without quarantine. And all the rest of it, weddings and funerals where only 30 people were allowed whilst Ascot went ahead etc etc.

80 Tory MP’s complained to the party whip. Interesting to find out who the whistle blower was. D of H is supposed to be investigating the CCC issue. The recordings like all CCC are wiped after 1 month so someone copied the relevant recording and kept it 2 weeks before contacting The Sun. Was it orchestrated and if so by whom and why? Hancock was an idiot and easily trapped but watching the video he came into his office with his paramour, slammed the door shut and proceeded with his cinch without the remotest idea a camera was there. Very strange.

maddyone Mon 28-Jun-21 11:12:28

Well I haven’t commented on this thread at all yet, am I allowed to comment now?
Well back to Matt Hancock. His behaviour has been disgusting. I feel sorry for his wife and children. I wasn’t impressed with him as Health Secretary, I’m glad he’s gone.

Would it be so simple as seeing the actual footage?

Say we’d seen Johnson getting it on with Acuri?

Or Footage of Patel, in Israel or swearing and throwing things at her office support?

Ot Jenkins tipping the wink at the developer

Or any one of them stuffing the pockets of their supporters with loads of money

Would actual footage make a difference and make people think differently?

Namsnanny Mon 28-Jun-21 11:03:43

Were they gunning for him, and this time they had the ammo?
Someone needs to be the fall guy. Keep the baying crowd satisfied?

I have a question.

Why has this Hancock incident hit home so much, when other stuff done by this government doesn’t seem to have touched the sides.

Because the rank hypocrisy has so closely affected so many people?
Somebody I read today had said he wasn’t allowed to hold his wife’s hand as she was dying but MH could snog his squeeze at the office. There the case of the mourner at a MK crem who moved across to put his arm round his bereaved mother’s shoulders and everything stopped while he was moved away.
Countless heartbreaking stories.
Callous injustice is too kind a description.

I was thinking the same Wwmk2

Completely agree with you Lucca but BoJo is a spineless, philandering twit who labours under the misapprehension that Joe Public is happy to accept his "Do As We Say, Not As We Do" strategy.

Daisymae Mon 28-Jun-21 10:50:29

Hancock had to go because senior Tories and MPs are not supporting Hancock. Probably because their constituents are not happy. Oh, and they are fed up with the slowness of easing of restrictions. Just who did leak the tape? Find out that and you will know their reasoining.

Lucca Mon 28-Jun-21 10:47:00

Chewbacca

Because he'd done it himself several times Lucca? He was hardly in any position to cast judgement was he!

Fooled around you mean ? Yes, granted but what got people’s back up this time was the breaking Covid rules/guidelines so I Think that should have convinced him to sack Hancock
