Anyone watching this now? He really does talk the talk doesn’t he. Has just stated that no health worker has died due to lack of PPE. At least Sarah Owen is now giving him a good grilling.

"Sack Matt Hancock for his failures in the health service, not allegations of an affair. I have never encountered a health secretary so incompetent"

Dr Kailash Chand Vice President, British Medical Association

Johnson can never sack a minister for breaking the ministerial code or behaving dishonestly or corruptly or illegally because he's been there and done that. So what !

80 seat majority thanks to a minority of votes. FPTP means he can get away with it.

The pandemic is being used as a blanket to cover up all sorts of misbehaviour/corruption/lies/hypocracy/cronyism etc. Remember these are unprecedented times and they have all been under tremendous pressure.
Breaking the ministerial code? Who cares? Boris Johnson certainly doesn't.

varian Fri 25-Jun-21 19:00:50

Are you suggesting that there might have been a tad of corruption ?

Surely not . When there is a crisis we have to reach out to our friends. If our friends happen to make a huge profit at the taxpayers' expense, well, surely that's OK??

Oh, look!

Hancock's squeeze has a brother who an executive of a company that has won several NHS contracts. What a surprise...

Obviously he was feeling overwhelmed & weak due to the whole weight of worries he's endured and she was giving him mouth to mouth resuscitation to make sure he keeps going, for the nation!

That's the best excuse I've heard. We all owe her a debt of gratitude in that case. Very noble of her when you think of it.

JaneJudge I dont think she was wearing her mask on her arse grin

If she was she certainly needed help.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Jun-21 09:21:27

It apparently is not so simple as it would first appear.

First she appears to have been appointed without the usual scrutiny. They are long-standing friends.
She is a lobbyist, questions need asking about such things as PPE procurement etc.

Nothing is simple where a Tory is concerned.

allium Fri 25-Jun-21 09:13:19

Hands, face, not much space ??

Parsley3 Fri 25-Jun-21 09:05:38

Now what plausible explanation will he come up with for being caught in a snog? Testing the efficacy of the vaccine?

grin

It's very apple tree yard. I wonder if she'll frame him for murder..

JaneJudge Fri 25-Jun-21 08:52:54

maybe he was helping her with her mask. I'm sure they'll come up with an elaborate excuse. We've had eye tests made as an excuse for rule breaking, maybe this one will include dentistry

James O'Brien

Some people think a politician’s adultery speaks to bigger questions of trustworthiness & integrity. Some don’t. Before Johnson, most Tories claimed to care about ‘family’ & even ‘Christian’ values. They clearly never did. That, I think, is what ‘virtue signalling’ really means.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Jun-21 08:40:39

Guidance to office workers from Hancock???

Biscuitmuncher Fri 25-Jun-21 08:34:53

I've seen the photo, they don't look very socially distanced to me! And to think weve let him tell us how to live our lives!!! An adulterer and a liar!

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Jun-21 08:19:01

I wondered what Hancock had done to prompt so much interest.

Blimey! I’ve just seen the photo.

Now I can’t get it out of my brain?

I assume Johnson will defend him to the hilt.

theworriedwell Fri 25-Jun-21 07:32:25

Well he's made the front page today. I hope the partners and children concerned are OK, it must be very difficult.

David Attenborough's view on Channel 4

theworriedwell Wed 23-Jun-21 07:48:01

Varian, I always think it's a shame channel 4 don't have a morning news programme.

JaneJudge our govt have really got style. I'm surprised Kay Burley didn't smack his hand and tell him to stop.

JaneJudge Wed 23-Jun-21 07:34:43

he kept picking/rubbing his nose

varian Tue 22-Jun-21 17:57:48

IMO Channel 4 News is the most reliable but they do not have a morning show and are now being threatened with privitisation.

theworriedwell Tue 22-Jun-21 17:54:14

Yes, almost flirty but definitely good natured. She is good at asking awkward questions without it becoming to aggressive. I have a tendency to flick round the news in the morning so see a bit of BBC, GMTV and Sky but watch Sky most. I think BBC has got silly and GMTV always was.
