I think a few of us are non grans but I am well past my retirement date and loving it.

My DD got her foot stabbed while wearing Crocs and using a garden fork.
One prong broke right off the fork and went through the croc, into her foot.
She was digging up montbretia at the time, which is tough stuff.

They mean completely different things. And always have done

'Discreet' means something done quietly, maybe even in secret, without attracting attention.

'Discrete' is to do with any one entity being distinguishably different from another. It's more difficult to define. Here's a dictionary definition:

There are a number of words I'd like to see used more often - whence, thence, hence, whither, thither, hither, and also thrice.
