I don’t need to think about it Lemongrove to know you are right.

Farage often attacks the government which will be interesting.

Maybe70 as Roosevelt said “if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen” which is what you will be doing. Anyway there are other channels with other programmes at the same time.

I don't like black pudding. I've never tried it, but I've spoken to others who have, and they said it's not very nice so I'm not going to try it and I hope all black pudding shops get closed down.

Yes, especially those black puddings which are stuffed with false dichotomies, according to Whitewave ?
I find it very amusing that a few posters are so hot under the collar about a news programme....and they have never even watched it I bet ( they just ‘know’ that they won’t like it.)
Trying and hoping to shut down any tv programme because of the political slant is just typical of some people today, they don’t like it therefore it has no business existing. It’s also what the woke brigade in Universities is doing with their no platforming of all kinds of speakers and debates.
Smacks of extremism to me, either of the Fascist or Communist way of doing things.Think about it.

You have clearly bought into Trumps and Johnson’s false “woke culture” It was of course Trump who suggested that those against racism were communists.

Oh well it takes all sorts.

25Avalon Sat 17-Jul-21 18:07:14

Didn’t mean that rudely Maybe70. Surely the most ardent fan won’t want an hour of Nigel 4 nights a week when there are other programmes to watch. I may dip into the odd one to listen to what he has to say.

At least his racist bigotry is contained on a channel that I can avoid unlike when he was on the BBC all the time…..

Yes!

It wasn’t long ago that Farage was dismissed as a has been who like a bridesmaid but never the bride had never really succeeded at anything except causing division and hate.

He compared BLM as the same as the Taliban.

He has bought into mad Trumps philosophy.

lemongrove Sat 17-Jul-21 18:17:54

I haven’t bought into anything thanks ( am from Yorkshire and prefer things to be free) ?and yes, indeed it does take all sorts, but I don’t want or hope to shut down anything because the political slant of the programme doesn’t suit me.Anytime a left wing tv news ‘n’ views appears on tv, I will not be the one yelling to get it taken off or hope it dies from lack of viewers.....I would watch it to see how it was and then not tune in again if it didn’t suit me.
I think what I really detest about leftist views most though is that holier than thou utter belief that anything they don’t agree with should be immediately booted out....that nobody should hear or see it.
If you watch it and don’t like it.... turn it off/ switch over.

Sounds like you're speaking to the wrong people, Chewbacca. Properly made Black pudding is absolutely delicious: especially Stornoway Black Pudding; the food of the Gods. (I'm salivating just thinking about the taste...)
It's a bit of a leap from deciding you're not going to try it to hoping all "black pudding shops" get closed down.

Well said lass. I’m not from God’s wonderful Country btw but my best friend is.

MerylStreep Sat 17-Jul-21 18:25:05

Well, I’ve learnt something today: Hitler was Arian ?
Stone me, why didn’t someone tell me this before.
Is this common knowledge?

I can’t actually be in the same room if he is on the tv. I know I should listen to what he has to say but, to be honest I kind of know what the gist of it will be! I still hold him responsible for Jo Cox’s death and he turns my stomach?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 17-Jul-21 18:37:22

He was given the sack by LBC because of his outrageous views, even that station that tolerates all sorts of views couldn’t stomach him.

He is a washed up has been. He has lived off other people the whole of his life. Even a previous poster gave him £50k??.

Kali2 Sat 17-Jul-21 18:43:36

MawBe

^Hitler was not an Arian ^
Did you mean Hitler was not Aryan ?
(He was born on the cusp of Taurus and Aries - in case there is any confusion about your use of the words “an Arian”)

From BBC Bitesize

^Hitler and the Nazis had firm views on race. They believed that certain groups were inferior and were a threat to the purity of the Aryan race. There were many groups who were targeted for persecution, including Slavs (Eastern Europeans), gypsies, gay people and disabled people - but none more so than the Jews^

Yes, thanks for correction 'Aryan' - he was not.

The point being that some people from other backgrounds, religious or ethnic, etc- who have suffered from discrimination and forms of bullying because of the above- do often turn quite vehemently against their own once succesful and made it to 'top of pile'. They often change their names, spend a fortune lightening their skin, and worse.

I agree Bodach but it seems to be the way of the world at the minute: don't like, don't agree with it: ban it! Shut it down!

Tastes good with laver bread.

Chewbacca Sat 17-Jul-21 19:51:32

Now I do love laver bread Dinahmo. Only get it when I go back home though.

MoorlandMooner Sat 17-Jul-21 21:10:11

"I think what I really detest about leftist views most though is that holier than thou utter belief that anything they don’t agree with should be immediately booted out....that nobody should hear or see it."

Did the right wing TV channel GB News not just 'boot out' a man for taking the knee?

A detestable trait which is obviously not exclusively a leftist failing.

muffinthemoo Sat 17-Jul-21 21:16:10

I wonder if Farage will present whilst wearing those tiny shorts that exposed his undercarriage.

25Avalon Sat 17-Jul-21 22:19:38

They booted him out as their audience switched off in protest that it didn’t meet the channels anti woke stance.

Galaxy Sat 17-Jul-21 22:59:18

Its pathetic to want GBNews shut down, its equally pathetic to not be able to tolerate a presenter taking the knee. I cant even begin to describe how depressing this all is.

Black pudding is just about tolerable
Laver bread is vile stuff and should be banned.
Even if it is good for you.

Oh dear, I should have said it's not to my taste so I avoid it.

Is this allegorical?

It's better than saying:
Of course I’m going to be interested in it’s demise, as imo should all right thinking people.

Just avoid what you dislike.

vegansrock Sun 18-Jul-21 07:35:35

Farage must be the only rat joining a sinking ship.

Kali2 Sun 18-Jul-21 10:20:39

LOL good one VR

Galaxy, I don't want GBNews shut down. But I'd be very happy to see it sink- as it would indicate that the majority of the population does not support their views.
