LOL good one VR

Galaxy, I don't want GBNews shut down. But I'd be very happy to see it sink- as it would indicate that the majority of the population does not support their views.

I haven't watched it so I don't know what views they are propounding.

Should I watch before it disappears into the sunset?

That’s exactly what I think. The more people reject its philosophic stance the more optimistic I am that hate and division will not win.

Galaxy Sun 18-Jul-21 10:39:03

I am not optimistic, little ray of sunshine that I am. If it fails I think it will fail because it production is just really bad. I am comfortable in having different views available, that dont always align with mine.

25Avalon Sun 18-Jul-21 10:53:18

Hate and division is already here with or without GBNews.

Galaxy
I think you could be right. Having said that: the glitches are now becoming a joke.

BlueBelle Sun 18-Jul-21 11:53:28

Well I ve never watched it but now I hear Farage is joining the Merry band I never will in the future either

Chewbacca Sun 18-Jul-21 12:45:19

I almost wish I had a t.v. set so I could see how dreadful this programme is alleged to be.

Chewbacca when did you decide to go without a tv set and why if you don't mind me asking?
We got rid of ours when we forgot we were watching the world cup final in 2014 and went out for a walk wondering why it was quiet and the other programmes through the week were dire - beat the bailiff. But people think we are weird.

Absolutely right, but what I don’t want is to know that there is a broadcasting company actively supporting division and hate.

Anniebach Sun 18-Jul-21 14:54:46

The Labour Party certainly has divisions,

Yes but it doesn’t as far as I am aware actively promote division in wider society.

I do have a tv but have no clue either as it isn't on my radar.

Perhaps I should take a look.
It would be rather like reading the Daily Mail cover to cover every day, I expect, then coming on GN to say how horrified you were by what's in it.

Kali2 Sun 18-Jul-21 17:42:30

You don't need to read DM from cover to cover to come to that conclusion. Same for GBnews probably- but not taking the risk ;) Farage joining is enough ;)

We are also watching it so we are also ‘zero’ - they do need to get the sound system sorted out!

libra10 Mon 19-Jul-21 10:51:21

It is refreshing to view broadcasting which isn't produced by left-wing biased companies.

You do get a less biased viewpoint from GB News, and see two sides to issues discussed.

The only thing I dislike is that some of their studios appear quite dark, and sound quality isn't as clear as some of the major TV broadcasters.

There should be room for every viewpoint in a free democratic society, unless it promotes terrorism or violence.

icanhandthemback Mon 19-Jul-21 11:08:14

I haven't found time to watch GBNews but the more channels you listen to or papers you read, the more likely you are to get a balanced view. I find it interesting about the way subjects are presented and the use of terminology.

nanna8 Mon 19-Jul-21 11:11:59

Just going back but I think Hitler actually was an Arian on the cusp of Taurus, strangely enough. He was born in April. I can’t watch that news because I don’t live there but any station employing Nigel Barrage I wouldn’t watch because I have a racial prejudice against his breed.

katy1950 Mon 19-Jul-21 11:22:45

I've stopped watching all tv news channels sick and tired of listening to presenters own opinions rather then the facts . I listen to the news on the radio they seem to stick to facts

GeorgyGirl Mon 19-Jul-21 11:24:46

GB NEWS is what we have been needing for a long time to show some balance, they are not right wing at all, they believe in free speech and hold debates allowing people of all races and religions to air their views without being 'cancelled' and they are defintely not racist, which you will see if you watch it. I for one will continue to watch it as it doesn't try to tell you what you should be thinking. I wish them all the luck in the world.

Alegrias1 Mon 19-Jul-21 11:33:10

I really have tried to watch GB News; know thine enemy, you know?

But it really is dreadful. It doesn't have balanced views, it is right wing and as far as I'm aware it really does still have a segment called "Woke Watch". Didn't they just "cancel" that chap for taking the knee?

The news programs on the new BBC Scotland channel had dire audience figure to begin with, but they found their feet and they're not bad now. I don't think GB News should be cancelled at all, but if it doesn't get an audience it will go out of business.

Just wondering, is the lovely Katie going to join now she has been kicked out of Australia. She would make a lovely addition to the team, no?

dorabelle100 Mon 19-Jul-21 12:02:46

I love GB News it's my go to programme every evening now there's some thing i want to watch. love it - from 8 pm till bedtime at 10 +. they even have good things to say about President Trump - HURRAH at last.

Alegrias1 Mon 19-Jul-21 12:24:45

et voilà...

Paperbackwriter Mon 19-Jul-21 12:30:51

Advertising themselves as 'anti-woke' does journalists no favours. 'Woke' simply means being concerned about other people and the climate, about not tolerating unfairness or bigotry. I can't see anything wrong with 'woke', personally.

Dear lord... Please do tell - what can they possibly claim is 'good' about Trump?
