There we go , anyone could put a typo like I just did, but for most of us unless we’re posting on Pedants corner it’s not the end of the world ??

I f you're telling somebody how to spell something it's usually a good idea to spell the word properly.

And for examples of how I can tolerate idiosyncratic spellings, do a little survey of how often Alegrias gets.... rearranged.

That's great Alegrias with any luck they'll stay there.

Have they though? Who exactly are they without the Queen's status and patronage behind them? And for how long?

I am mildly dyspraxic and the tips of my fingers on my right hand are numb after carpal tunnel surgery, which means that my posts are scattered with every form of mistyping known to humankind. I am rarely criticised and I wouldn't dream of criticising anyone. Like many people like me, my proof reading is a bit hit and miss as well.

I put complaining about someone's typos and mis-spelling, on a par with someone taking refuge in 'dictionary definitions.' It is the sign of someone losing an argument and grabbing every specious and irrelevant point they can to defend the indefensisble.

With near-saintly forbearance I disregard the many and varied mis-spellings of my username that I see. I am more than sure that I have spelt other users' names incorrectly, I have made grammatical errors and that I have mis-spelt many words when posting on GN. I've just had a debate with myself about the placement of apostrophes.

However, when posters take to the keyboard to vilify a public figure, but can't even get their name right, I find it impossible to pass over without a comment. Getting someone's name right is just good manners. When others then correct my posts and get the spelling wrong in new and imaginative ways, I cannot desist and feel the need to comment.

Its a curse.

M0nica my daughter has had carpal tunnel surgery on both her wrists, it's not easy to live with.
Have you tried using a stylus to type with? I bought my Dad some as he complains the keys on his phone are too small for his fingers.

First thing I was asked by Australian rellies when Meghan met Harry was "is it pronounced Meggan or Meegan?")
Meghan is an unusual spelling- is it the American way?

To return to M&H, Celia Walden, wife of Piers, says they have 'lost it in the nail bars in New York', which is apparently deeply significant, bit like the man on the top of the Clapham omnibus. This may explain why they are now attempting to build bridges, and are joining with the rest of the Royal Family to pay tribute to Prince Philip.

What I would really like to hear is what Prince Philip said about them.

V3ra The problem with a stylus is it tends to be held by the tips of the fingers - and i cannot feel anything with them.

It causes problems using a mobile phone as well.

I read online that they were not invited to Barack Obama's birthday party which apparently they felt was a snub as they were hoping Michelle would do a voice over for one of their projects. Maybe the Obama's were not impressed with their sharing during the Oprah interview. Maybe it was because they are no longer viewed as acting members of the royal family? Either way apparently they are now considering asking Oprah!

I think the Obamas have moved on in a very sensible manner and maybe they are paving the way to greater things. They are very intelligent people who don't need to shout things out. It seems H & M are irrelevant to them now.

The Obamas apparently liked the Queen very much when they visited the UK, and also they met with and appeared to like the Cambridges. Only speculation but perhaps they don’t approve of people trashing their family publicly. I’ve also heard that the Obamas are very family minded and therefore would find Harry and Meghan’s behaviour distasteful.

The Obamas may also be concerned that anything they say may lead to another future recollections ‘may vary’ situation!

H&M are not in the same league as the Obamas.

The Obamas seem very gracious to me merlotgran. I don’t think that H+M are at all gracious. They’re always complaining and appear to jump on the latest thing, criticise everyone else for whatever they do, and then do the self same thing themselves. The biggest example is flying by private jet, whilst asking others to forego their annual EasyJet flight for their summer holiday. Flying by private jet to a polo match, albeit a charity match, epitomises their entitled attitude. Maybe the Obamas are entitled, but if they are, I can’t say I’ve seen any blatant examples of it. As I said, they seem very gracious.

Maybe the Obamas recognise the sensitive situation and by inviting H & M it would seem like they were supporting them and adding more fuel to the already blazing fire. Or maybe it never even crossed their minds to invite them in the first place. We don't know, but I'm guessing it is a disappointment to M & H.
Oh well it's only a year until Biden's 80th birthday bash, so they will have to live in hope for an invitation to that!

Apparently at the NAT award ceremony when H&M's Oprah interview was mentioned, the audience jeered and boo'd and this was kept from the tv audience.

I think you could be right about the Obamas recognising the sensitivity of the situation Josianne and that may explain why other high profile celebs have been rather quiet of late.

I tnink everyone is getting bored with them, all moans and complaints and biting the hand that feeds them.

So his GP's who Harry has previously described as dysfunctional parents, resulting in his own father PC being a dysfunctional father, have now been described by Harry as "an adorable couple".
